I worked at 2 different ford dealerships for a total of 15 years as a heavy line tech…..I’ve never heard of a repair taking almost 5 months! That’s insane to take that long….if I remember correctly the longest I’ve ever experienced a long delay for a repair was almost a month. It was waiting for a part that was back ordered..with these modern vehicles they are very complex with computers and wiring which can be troublesome …. Good luck with your journeys in the future.

There is a signal wire on f150 ford's that goes to the shift solenoid that gets hot and worn out that disables the overdrive shift gear which puts it in limp home mode. It sounds like something along those lines went bad. You got a new transmission for all of the trouble at least! Real happy to see it's back on the road!!!!

At 90K? Fluid should go at least that far. I put 300K on a 4L60 with only one pan drop at 180K. It was mostly highway running and the transmission was working perfectly when I got rear ended at a red light.....
FIVE MONTHS! Oh hell nah, if you that happens to some small proprietor who needs their truck for business? That a HUGE costly inconvenience. My ‘07 Tacoma has NEVER let me down with 160k Miles. My uncles Tacoma gave him 300k and only f’d up because he didn’t replace the thermostat when he was told to.
Well, yeah, this is more car than truck, Ford doesn't really claim otherwise. If you're going to beat the hell out of it like a truck, you need to do better maintenance. He probably overheated the transmission several times. Five months is not acceptable though.

Makes no sense to blame the truck, I knew someone who had a brand new Toyota that blew it's motor up because they didn't change the oil at all for 20k miles. . It's the same thing here. Actually take care of your car, I know that's a foreign concept to a lot of people these days, but if you do, you'll almost never have issues.

The hybrid is the far more reliable powertrain, basically the same engine and hybrid system as the fusion and older escape hybrids, and built in the same Mexican factory your fusion was. That factory has a stellar reputation for making reliable vehicles.
He did no maintenace on transmission and did you see the camper he pulls with this little truck? Super nice kid but did you know he drove this truck 80k in 1 year and financed the whole truck. you talk about upside down yikes!
I have the same truck and I did have a issue with mine . My rear diff was making a weird noise when turning . They had to get me a new rear diff. The stock diff has no drain plug which is crazy. But I got it fixed it's been a good truck . I love it

@@jehanmatter6262 well it will cost nothing if it's still under warranty to fix. The problem is the diff doesn't hold much fluid and with the exhaust a couple inches away it gets very hot. They told me it blew a seal and leaked out of mine but I looked very closely at it before going to the dealer and I saw no signs of a leak. Good luck and don't forget to have the transmission serviced asap 30000 miles for hard driving . 100000 for normal driving . But I would have it done immediately. There is no filter that can be replaced without major transmission work. And it's unlike older transmissions it's not so easy to add fluid back into it correctly !
Ooh I called it! Electrical problem or bad sensor. It's amazing what one bad conductor can do. I work on security systems and one short on the correct data line can take down the entire system.

Can't wait for people to learn the hard way about turbo issues... There was a mini van in the 1990s the used a turbo and guess what happened to it? Factory turbos are a bad idea. 1) they share oil the engine requiring more frequent OIL changes 2) twin turbos in these NEW trucks are the MOST expensive part of the vehicle..
The Tacoma is less reliable than the maverick 😂. Above average reliability ratings for the maverick compared to average or below average reliability ratings on the Tacoma. This guy abused and neglected his truck. I've known people who've had tacomas less than a month old who couldn't drive them due to issues.

Hey Daniel just realized you're from NorCal, I'm out here in Yuba City and I've been enjoying these videos . Amazing after all of the inconvenience that Colusa Ford couldn't at least vacuum the truck. I'll never buy from them .
My dad ordered 4, Ford Mavericks back in 2022. We have not gotten any yet. So we decided to go out and get a Mitsubishi Mirage instead. So, when/if we get the Maverick, that will make it so we have 3 cars starting with the letter M. Ford Maverick, Pontiac Montana, and a Mitsubishi Mirage. I am very happy with the Mirage, I been getting about 50-55 MPG on the freeway going 60 with cruise control in the slow lane. Plus it doesn't have any recalls or any of that, so it very well could be more reliable than the Maverick. Plus it's easier to work on. So we will see.
That's cool, but they aren't really comparable vehicles. My wife bought a hyundai ioniq and loves it too; hitting 70+ mpg in the summer! Can't really compare that to a maverick either.

His transmission didn't fail, it was a bad wire. These days it happens alot, I've had multiple cars with bad conductors and it's an extremely annoying problem to have. Have to have a very good tech to find the problem.

Five months is not acceptable. Seems like you can't rely on quick repairs for anything these days. They'll blame the supply chain I'm sure but when they are churning out 100K of these per year there's no excuse that they couldn't get one faster. Next time try contacting Ford directly and take it up the chain.
I know you really like your truck, but I’d sell it and get a Tacoma. Ford has been slipping on QC for a good while now. I was in the market to get a FORD, but I passed and I went with a Tacoma. To each their own, but if possible, I’d go with Toyota when it comes to reliability.

Five months is not acceptable. Seems like you can't rely on quick repairs for anything these days. They'll blame the supply chain I'm sure but when they are churning out 100K of these per year there's no excuse that they couldn't get one faster. Next time try contacting Ford directly and take it up the chain.

Ford's are generally very reliable. My family has owned about 30 of them, with the exception of two 80s Ford's, they've all been solid.

I know you really like your truck, but I’d sell it and get a Tacoma. Ford has been slipping on QC for a good while now. I was in the market to get a FORD, but I passed and I went with a Tacoma. To each their own, but if possible, I’d go with Toyota when it comes to reliability.
