    Your experience is beyond inexcusable. The loaner should have been an immediate thing. The transmission should have been an immediate yes for replacement. Glad things work out for you. I've enjoyed your videos.

    If the book said to change the fluid at 100K then it's definitely Ford's fault, not yours. Ford either made a bad transmission or put wrong information in the book

      Wouldn’t be the first time.
      The Ford in the fiesta sold hundreds of thousands of cars and yet you don’t see hardly any of them on the road anymore even though they are just now becoming 10 years old from the last model.

      The OEMs say 100k mile transmission fluid change with most vehicles now -so much so that many transmissions have no add fluid areas for consumers.
      Honda/Toyota (no CVT) - transmissions usually have little to no sludge in the pan (if there is one). Change out fluid 100k or less.
      Ford/GM etc - 30k-50k miles take the tranny "pan" off and clean out the silt, with new filter and maybe gasket.
      Use LubeGuard red etc for the sticking shift solenoids. -Even better just change the fluid out and add the LubeGuard. Transmission fluid must be checked with specs by manual and many are picky on the fluid. -A pressured system so correct fluid level is critical .
      Honda, GM, Ford etc. -Use their transmission fluids and not the generic/universal ones.

    Your towing, hauling, fording, and off-roading is severe service and you should’ve been on the severe service schedule for all your fluids. 30,000 miles for the transmission fluid.
    The problem is people often subject their vehicles to severe service but fail to do the severe service schedule because they *think* their use is typical.

      Automatics still use clutch packs. -Eventually they need a rebuild (fiber plates) especially if used off-road, pulling etc.
      If youget stuck one time badly. -Your can burn up, or glaze the friction plates and now it will slip. Torque converters can become imbalanced. Shift solenoids can fail, electronics etc.
      TH350/400 (GM) lasted 10-20yrs+. TF727 Chrysler. -Few if any electronics, made for years, with quality parts. Most Honda/Toyota/KIA autos are good and should last.

    Yeah it sounds like just a "first year" issue also a Ford truck/van thing so I hope they will figure out how to make the mavrick's transmission last longer in time. Though it should be the old relible one that Ford developed with chevy a long time ago so it may just be a mavick thing.

      They will definitely not come out with a fix if they can fight it, the maverick issues will only increase as owners put on the miles. Just because this little truck has internet hype, and low availability, doesn’t equate to reliability.

It was a good truck when it was actually in my driveway but Ford needs to do alot better, disappointed that it turned out to be a total POS. No transmission should be failing at 85000, you should really get rid of it before it becomes a money and time sink which it will

    I’ve been tempted to buy fords since they’ve been coming out with some cool looking cars like Branco, Mav, mustang but they are still far from reliable meaning less resale value and more headaches. People will buy Pinto Raptor and pay extra because it looks cool. How many older fords do you see on the roads.. barely any because they don’t last.

With so many vehicles on the road with 300k+ miles on stock transmissions (without even proper maintenance mind you), 80k is insanity. I hope you have no issues in the future. Makes me thankful for my Ridgeline - I had a Maverick when they first came out… One of the first in the Midwest. It was fine… But definitely had some alarming behaviors. Anyway, I wish you the best and hope you can get another 50 to 100,000 out of it at least.

    • @jesusofbacon
      @jesusofbacon 7 месяцев назад +1

      Ridgeline transmissions have 2nd and overdrive gear issues. I would know I have one sitting with 2nd gear gone. Don't tow anything with a Ridgeline as it literally isn't a real truck.

    • @JH-hz1cu
      @JH-hz1cu 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@jesusofbacon those issues are so far and few between - how is the maverick “literally” a truck if the RL isn’t ? Can tell you now Hondas AWD and bed utility and overall fit and finish is light years ahead of the ford. It’s got a bed / required to have truck plates - it’s a truck. Just not a “hey everyone look how small my d*** is” rig

    • @jesusofbacon
      @jesusofbacon 7 месяцев назад

      @JH-hz1cu Sorry you were insulated by the facts it doesn't hold up as a truck, just like the maverick. You can't do anything with it in terms of why you would buy it. Better off with a colorado or an older 1/2 ton, considering the torque was way up high in the powerband for the ridgeline. Your vehicle is only reliable because it isn't used for the purpose it was built. So reliability is not an argument you can make cause it isn't reliable it fade and you taking it that way 100% proves it to be the case.

    • @JH-hz1cu
      @JH-hz1cu 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@jesusofbacon mental gymnastics much? You make zero sense The RL was designed to be a daily driver that can haul from time to time - and tow 5000. I use both those perks 3-4 weekly so yes, it actually does exactly what it was intended to do. Pull my atv, load landscape items
      For my property and do it with one of the best awd systems (way better than 4x4 for Midwest winter) Let me
      Guess … I should
      But a half ton and lift it with gay little rivets in my fenders and tell the world I’m an OfF RoAdER …except it’s at McDonald and the car wash constantly 😂 FWIW I have an old 1500 in Michigan at our farm - so I understand proper use when necessary . RL is perfect for the purpose it was built - try separating your ego from your car - you’ll feel better.
