Tacoma is the gold standard for small pick-ups. TRD is even better, but you can get 2 Mavericks for one Tacoma TRD. There are tuning mods for the Toyota 4cyl and 6cyl to get more power and torque = should help with shifting and holding a gear. =Toyota down rates them for reliability. -or just get the manual.
I picked up a trd off-road yesterday..Partly because I gave up on the maverick- Tried for 3 months to find one and every time there was a price mark up(ranging anywhere from 5k-15k)..Ridiculous..The Tacoma was pricey, but ended up being close to if not cheaper than some of the mavericks I’ve looked at…I think I’ll still place a order when the banks open and just cross my fingers that I see it in the next few years
I traded my Maverick FX4 for a 23 Nissan frontier Pro4x, 43k out the door. DARCARS wanted over 50k for a TRD Pro and in my opinion the Pro4X is a better truck
I test drove a new taco, and ended up buying the Maverick hybrid without test driving it! I get High 40s any time I want. Ford made the vehicle I’ve always wanted.
Well, with Toyota you get to drive it 300k miles plus. Im seeing this vid after having watched the HELL the Maverick has put you through, so I still say Tacoma. Good vids. Can't wait to see another update on the Maverick 🤨 (POS!)
Nissan reliability sucks!! I know several people personally that have had major issues including my wife. My Camry has 200k and drives like a brand new car. Shift quality and all! Zero problems with her Rav 4 and now I have a brand new Tacoma that is flat out awesome
Only testing them on pavement makes no sense to me? How can you compare trucks driving on flat ground or without towing or a payload test. I see a truck as a tool, so aesthetics have no meaning to me.
Damn that’s overpriced. The Nissan Frontier Pro 4x is $46k new. More power, better transmission, modern interior just better in every way than the Tacoma
Great Video Daniel, keep them coming. Like your honest and insightful perspective.
Thanks ford watching!
My daily driver is a TRD Off-road. If you ever make it to East Texas, I’ll let you take it off road rock crawling!
Ooo heck yah I’m down
My maverick was $28.5, I really wanted a Tacoma but couldn't justify $45k. With gas creeping back up, I'm glad I bought the Mav
Right they very expensive
@@danieldeliverz3642 hs tranny just blew, what do you think of saving that 15k now?
What a beautiful truck truly awesome ❤️I’ve got the 23 TRD OffRoad lol love it❤

That's why I got the Tacoma, for the manual transmission.
Or just get the new Nissan Frontier Pro 4x for the same price.
Great review. I like reviews from everyday men like you two. Nice video.

I Love my Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, Premium and Technology pkgs with a 6’ bed.

I also want a hybrid!! The mpg is INSANE
They did? No stick? Thanks Tacoma
ECT mode gives the truck more power and it feels alot faster especially helps for towing heavy loads

Toyota tacoma #1 truck and reliability .
Enjoyed your review. Thanks
Maverick does not offer a large enough bed. My taco's is 6ft and has a stick to keep the fun factor.
Great review! Thanks 👍

Nissan is junk
The TRD Off Road Double Cab is a Mountain Limousine
Okay so 1st of all push to start.. then 1st of all SEATBELT! 💀

This was good back in the 80s and 90s. They will be obsolete very quick once the EV trucks are on the road next year

Keep dreaming with that nissan buddy. Toyota tacoma #1
Who cares that's still a Japanese vehicle
