    They’re charging 10k markups on the Maverick now, salesman said Ford is thinking about raising the price by 7k due to the overwhelming positive response. I think they’re missing the point about this truck, cheap and economical … at a 40k price point it is no longer worth it in my opinion.

    • @themidnighttavern6784
      @themidnighttavern6784 Год назад +9

      Yeah, no Ford isn't going to raise the price by 7k. These sales people have no idea what Ford is going to do in terms of upcoming products or unannounced pricing.

      I bought a hybrid maverick lariat , we gave it to our granddaughter for graduation. It listed for 28 plus tax, rag , title, advalorum . 31,600 dollars! The salesman, my friend told me the boss(new owner) wanted to up charge me. I told him I wanted it, but I didn’t have to have it! I paid list price but she loves it and it gets around 40 mpg . That’s why I bought it! But now dodge, Toyota are both about to introduce their 20,000 dollar trucks! Ford has blown it by not building more in the US . They have abandoned plants they could have reopened and flooded the market with mavericks! Their management just like GMs and stupid and only march to the socialist administration we have now ! I’m a lifelong Ford guy! But I will buy whatever I want and will not pay an up charge ! Money doesn’t grow on trees and lve learned in the last Two years that dealers are Thieves! My friend at the dealership told me that during covid with No Inventory they made more money than selling 150 cars/ Trucks a month. Now they have a couple hundred cars/ trucks and can’t sell em . Some people do still have a memory!

    Thanks for this video. The important thing to remember is that none of these 5 dislikes are really deal breakers, except for the mark ups. I went the other way around and I ordered mine from the dealership and waiting 17 months for it and had no markups. It wound up becoming a 2023 model, and so far it's been absolutely great. I have the 2WD hybrid XLT and I put about 600 miles on my truck before having the need to get gas. Also, I've seen a Maverick with a $15k markup on it once.

      I can tell you from looking at data from Eco-Boost engines he will be lucky to make it to 180k with him towing a lot the transmission will be lucky to make it to 100k if it has not been serviced. Then again it might surprise you, but just knowing the Eco-Boost engines unless it is the 3.5l Ecoboost it will struggle. Now what is going to be interesting is to see what Toyota's new Toyota Stout truck will be like. Stout is what people think their version will be called, but not set in stone. I used to be a Ford loyalist Pre- 2005. I have not been a fan of their track record in the models from 2005 until now. Just my opinion, but I do want to see the Maverick succeed and become reliable and long lasting we need affordible vehicles bad right now. We had a 2015 Ford Fusion and it was terrible. Currently my wife drives a 2020 Camry SE and its been rock solid so far. I have a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 and a 1985 Nissan 720 King Cab deluxe 4x4 truck. They sure as hell do not make them like they did in 1985 they were basically mini-tanks back then:P

    • @timflint25
      @timflint25 Год назад +1

      @NDIrishfan71 I agree with you in general, but I have seen some 3.5 ebs make it to 350k (even up to 600k!). Those guys are doing high mileage in a short amount of time with the highway. While that's rare, I think it could be similar with Daniel, because he's covering 80k per year, mostly highway. So it'll be a cool one-off experiment with the 2.0 eb which is a whole different engine with its own issues. You're 100% right about the trans though. Supposedly it's not even rated to handle the torque from a stock Maverick. And with all the towing, hauling, off-roading, hooning, and elevation changes, it could be an issue. If Daniel sees this, make sure to change that trans fluid every 40k!

    • @JasPlun
      @JasPlun Год назад +1

      @@timflint25 I am satisfied with 200k that is my measuring line for a good vehicle anything higher is bonus! My old 2004 Silverado 5.3 gave me 210k before trading it and was going strong. I am sure my wife's Camry will make 300k easy, but my Ram Work truck I will be lucky to make 180k with the 6.4L Hemi. We work them hard, but they do have the faulty camshaft lifter issues. That is pretty bad though how many Rams fail before 200k. If I were buying work trucks I would get Ford with the 6.2l.

    Check your harness connector to the TCM (Transmission Cintrol Unit), for corrosion. As much wet weather as you drive through, condensston can develop inside connector blocks, leading to light corrosion. It does sound like the TCM is "searching" for gears. My 2014 Focus had a faulty TCM. It was constantly searching for gears, wben going up hills, or during hard acceleration. Just a possibility.

I also do a lot of driving but not as much as you do lol I’m putting on about 450 miles a week for commuting to work and back five days a week so I’m up to almost 18,000 miles now.
    The engine behaves, much more responsive and nimble, when it’s in sports mode when compared to the normal driving mode, especially on the highway. Unfortunately, you lose the sport mode along with the Eco mode when you go to the FX four package.

    Can't say that I've noted the same about the transmission. I'm no audiophile, but I HATE these speakers. Shittiest I've ever had. I agree with the display. It's okay, but just feels old. Thanks for the reset tip!
    I have a few issues after 8 months and under 10,000 km. Leaking inboard passenger side front boot. Chips on the plastic fascia of the front bumper but ONLY on the corners where they touch the fenders. There's a little clunk from the passenger side when I turn left sometimes. Just a faint little clunk. No one knows what it is though :P
    That tailgate has a third height setting. If you just loop the hanger chord around the latching bolt.

      I have a hard time believing that seeing as there's no recall for the transmission. Let alone one that would require a dealership to swap out a transmission 😂.

    I have had Ford vehicles for the last 20 years and haven't liked the transmission in any of them. It's clunky and takes forever to get into gear. Also Ford should rename Ford Sync to Ford STINK. It has never worked properly in any of the Fords I have owned.

    Ford issued 5 recalls on my Maverick FX within 13 months, I got tired of it and traded it in for a Nissan Frontier Pro4X. Loved the Mavericks MPG and it did everything I needed a truck to do but Fords Q&A over the last few years is pretty horrendous
