Hi marky congratulations on building your own pump loo Ike most new diggers they tend to push the pump in to far try putting a strip of tape about 11"from the end up so you have a guide to how deep your going 2nd don't over tighten the pump you don't get more suction I tell people to tighten the seal untill it starts to catch then tighten a quarter of a turn at a time depth and suction are the key just don't rush good luck let me know how you get on 👍👍👍

@gavinsmith4848 I think it all depends on the type of sand and how much you will use it plus the cost difference stainless will last longer I love copper

@@hastingsangler I pump around dungerness and rye so similar to where you pump, I’d like to try a copper one to see if they are better than a Steel version

Hi Nathan are you local them yellow seals are trash so hit and miss plus need lots of lub

@ I’m in crowborough and normally dig bexhill or Eastbourne way. Yeah I find sometimes they’re ok but need to use washing up liquid every 5 minutes or so. But generally they’re hard work. I’m going to look for a bit of Perspex or something to make a jig to make some like yours, but they won’t be cured in time before I go back to work I don’t think
