  • Sea Fishing uk Collecting fresh lugworms and fishing for bass with a few surprises. Just after the storm its normally good sea fishing so went down to hastings beach at low tide with the intention of fishing and digging some fresh lugworm bait .The water was like chocolate and the breeze was fresh but warm conditions was good for bass fishing there was a few schoolies no bigger than your hand i hooked into a nice big 2lb 7oz silver eel which was returned alive

love your vids keep it up!
Ive made my own pump, following your guide and a few other videos i found online, works great and like you i prefere the copper. This video really helped me understand how the lug are digging down and made alot more sense to me, so thank you.
ive been digging about 3/4 times now on hastings beach near the bo peep(couple of hours each time) had maybe 10 or so, I seem to get a lot of tails, would i be doing something wrong if all im getting is tails? pulling too hard? too slow?
also, is it best to go with the tide when looking for casts? I find as im walking onto the sand straight from the stones im seeing thousands of casts, but i always go close to the tide on the way out and back in. any advice is greatly appreciated and please keep the vids coming. i love watching the lug digging ones as it helps me learn so much :)

Hi like most beginners to pumping they tend to go too deep and in the video i showed how you might cut the tail off by going past the worm .The beach by the bo peep is not the best for pumping it very stoney and if your getting a few worms your doing well there try going along by the pier or bridgeway sand is better you stand a better chance .If im down the beach pop over say hello and il try and help you if i can Thank you for a great post

You and Andy gave me and my mate Dan the worms that day. We went home for lunch and came back for the high when I caught a 4lb thornback and Dan caught a 28 cm sole on those worms. Good to have the crack, see a few fish caught and catch. A great couple of sessions,, thanks.

Another cracking video Dave. Love the graphic of how the worms burrow - I shall have to get you down to explain that one to the youth group one day.
