Dave, Quick question, when your pumping whats the ratio of pumps to worms ? Are you editing the missed pumps (where you dont get one) also how many times do you go round a cast before you give up and go and find the next one ? Also reference those whitings i also find they are very dependent on the Tide - do you find them at slacker water ? It was good for you to disprove the myth that Hastings and St Leonard's doesn't have any sand! It was like Devon down there for a bit
Hi Matt on the pumping ratio it all depends on time of year as winter is harder and you tend to get a lot more misses so i would say ratio wise 2 to 1 and in the spring some times might get 30/40 on the bounce then miss a few then back on them. second question most of the time if pumping at pett the sands better so it will be 1 pump then on to the next worm pumping in hastings is a lot harder because of the stones that you cannot see so you keep trying until the pump goes in but be ready to knacker your pump and seal on the stones and shale . For me Matt the whitings came on the feed about 1hr before high tide and when they do its game over .Hastings and St Leonard's is ok pumping if your just after a few worms for the days fishing. Thank you for posting Matt hope to see you down the beach or on the sand with a pump in your hand lol tight lines mate
