  • Building A Lugworm Bait Pump Simple and Easy. Lugworm Bait Pump Built from 22mm spare plumbing parts in my shed and also homemade seals for the bait pumps. These pumps are simple to build and effective and have proven to work also cheap to build your self
    Bait pump build Parts
    22mm copper pipe
    22mm equal tee
    8mm stainless rod
    fuel pipe tubing to fit 8mm rod
    6mm nylon top cap with 10mm hole for shaft
    cut from nylon chopping board seems hard wearing
    18mm stainless washers x2
    19 silicone seal these can be bought on ebay

    and a m10 stainless nut

    Looks simple apart from the main shaft, that's the difficult piece to make.

      hi richard i make all my shafts with a m6 thread like you said the rest is easy the washers very important too the pumps dont need no liquid just wet sand

      Hi Richard I use 304 8mm stainless steel rods hope that helps

      Hi because i don't have a tap and dye set ive got a friend that welds a m6 bolt on the end then grind the weld down to size of the shaft bit of cheating

    A beginner question for you, can you pump bait when it’s raining?

      Hi yes you can but its a lot harder as the sand coils get washed away but you can still see where the cast was as soon as the rain stops the pop straight back up

    I can't find a source for M8 stainless washers that are 18mm diameter? Will M8 x 16mm diameter do?

    How long should the stainless rod be

      Hi all depends if your tall or short but a standard size 1.1meters long that from the handle to the end

      Copper is £45 and stainless £65 postage is £13 fully insured track and signed for
