Driving my 1978 Chevy NOVA in 1992!

My first car was this 1978 Chevy Nova. My mom got it new in 1978 and it became my brother's first car in 1989. It then became my first car when I turned 16 in 1991 and I drove it until 1999. In 1999 I sold it to a high school girl who just got her license and I haven't seen the car since. It wasn't pretty, but it had a 305 v8 and served me well. These are videos of my friends and me driving the...

Jenkinson's Boardwalk Funhouse *COMPLETE WALK-THROUGH*
All I remember is that ominous music as you headed to the pier .. and the smell of funnel cake under the castle and the pier was called nickels midway .. now I know why
I visited Wildwood last summer specifically because of the legacy of this ride, it intrigues me so much and I always wish I could’ve experienced it. Thank you for this excellent documentary!
I see they have a stunt from the golden nugget in there at the end. I wonder what happened to the other props from the mine ride?
That's a good question. I know they didn't want to sell them to Knoebels when they bought the track and trains. I think they were considering working some of them into the new roller coaster they were planning, but that didn't happen. Maybe they still have them in storage.
Very short and bright, but it has a lot of character. Respect for all the customized (probably home built) props and modified pneumatics.
This was all I wanted to do on the boardwalk when I was a kid. I’d hit it up every chance I could
Of course the image and voice of this Dracula, and COUNTLESS others, was based on BELA LUGOSI's creation of Dracula back in the 1920's and 30's. Lugosi lived in near poverty for the last several years of his life......
Makeing out on the boat ride with a girl I met on the pier.. What memories!
Really 😂. Never saw a dark ride so lit up and unscary like this one. Best one I remember was the mine ride at hunts pier.
I think this ride is made a little less scary for smaller kids.
Gig is such a nice man. God bless him. He truly IS the boardwalk in Wildwood.
This was a fantastic dark castle along with Tubes of Terror! Jersey has had far too many "accidental" fires in dark rides, the list is huge and I hate all the criminals who started them!

I LOVED this as a kid!!
I miss that place
Wow, what an incredible video. My family used to go to Wildwood for vacation practically every year in the 90's, and I was beginning to wonder if the castle was real or just something I imagined. I remember being so terrified of the music and begged my family not to go in, lol. Such a shame what happened. It will live on in the memories of millions of people!
This was the greatest haunted castle I've ever been in. I am saddened that I was never able to take my nieces to this amazing experience. Thank you for priceless memories.
If only the owners hadnt abandoned it and pawned it off on a water park company
Live in Florida but raised partially in New Jersey for my first seven years of life,i still remember the good times as a little kid on the shore.
I went the summer of 1984,I also went to Disney world for the first time as well,I liked Disney world better.
It's hard to compete with the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World.
That was probably the most memorable attraction in my life. Scared sh** first time through both dungeon and walk thru. (About 9 yrs old) After you got the idea of the dungeon, you knew damn well, as soon as you get thru the tunnel, someone would pop out and scare the heck out of you. Man I miss that Castle. Definitely in my heart forever. THANK YOU for such a great documentary! I've searched forever for clips and vids of this iconic place.
I just checked the fan website. There is going to be a special celebration of Castle Dracula at the George F. Boyer Museum at Wildwood on August 9 and 10.
Vlad the impaler enters the chat! As someone who communicates regularly through him he says he takes this in stride. I asked if he approved of the ride. He said yes as dracula was inspired by him. He says this is satire of him and people should further look into him.
Crazy how everyone in this video is dead.
The video isn't that old...
@@DarkinthePark Apologies. I thought it was 1892.
@@meintingles4396 lol. they didn't even have movie cameras back then!

Is The ghost ship is only one level now, cause when I went through it in 2015 both levels were functional
Currently, only the first level is open. The ship was closed for 3 summers during the pandemic. When it finally opened last summer, it was determined that the second floor was too deteriorated from being closed for so long that it wasn't worth reopening that portion of the ship.
I loved this place. I remember my cousins freaked out and I grabbed them and trampled over people to get them out. Good times. ❤
Everyone mentions Mack’s. Does anyone remember sorrento 1,2,3,and 4?
It was always slow like that during the day and shoulder to shoulder at night.
I started going there with my parents and sister in the late 70s as a small child. We stayed at the concad’or and bal harbor. What a wonderful time to be alive. I spent my days in the pool and arcade and my nights at the boardwalk. My father loved Ed Zaberers. We would always go during the last week of July into august. How magical it was to arrive in wildwood after a six hour drive and cross the bridge. The first thing we saw to indicate we were arriving in vacationland was uries reef and beef on the right and shortly after we would start to see boardwalk. It was always hot and sunny when we were there. I miss those times so much.
Cool commercial guys!
Rebuild Castle Dracula, keep up the maintence, repairs, staff and you will have a landmark that will bring in customers till the end of time. Morey's need a vision that is unique and different from amusement parks. This is different and will last but invest on the second floor and give people what they pay for. It's tome to bring back the character of the 5 piers in the past. That was great. Nothing like it running from pier to pier.
This isn't bad but it's high maintanance and takes up too much room for what it REALLY is. It doesn't at all compare to Castle Dracula and dungeon boot ride that existed before the fire. I more or less understand the reasoning behind why they didn't rebuild it but I STILL believe they looked at it from the wrong perspectives and ultimately dropped the ball on something that could have very well been an international show piece that brought even more tourism to the Wildwoods. Imagine how much more grand of a footprint it could have been. This is nice to look at from outside but that's about it.
They used to have that ship horn set so loud you could hear it from the south hotels. Really REALLY loud. They don't do the horn anymore, as far as I'm aware.
Yes, I remember the air horn. It is still mounted on the second floor, but they stopped using it after a couple seasons....probably because people complained of the noise.
I remember getting a funnel cake on the side of the castle at one time I never went in but we met some of the actors
Mister Toad's Relaxing Boat Trip. lol. Still love these local attractions. They have heart, if not budgets.
1:51 “Uh…? -‘Boo!’- ‘Ahoy, there!’ Exit to your left!”
They used to try to jump out at you in this ride, but they made it more of a family ride and don't do that anymore.

Best train conductor on the railroad and a great guy
I go to wildwood every year! I love the boardwalk and im so sad I never got to experience the original castle :( especially with the rats!
Dude if you ever found a complete ride through of Journey to the Center of the Earth from Dorney Park I just might have a heart attack. I went on that damn ride almost 40 years ago and it still stays with me.
I think there is some footage of it on youtube. I remember seeing some of the trolls and spider.
@@DarkinthePark I actually found some old footage just today. Thanks bro.
Thank you for this! I like the art, I loved the giant hand. Don't really get the theme, as it's pirates then sci fi? Also, if they were only going to hire one voice actor, they might have gotten one who could do an Irish/British pirate accent. But if it were perfect, that would spoil the point of a local dark ride. It's perfect in its imperfections. There's no way I'm getting to Jersey this summer, so honestly, I really do appreciate you sharing the local culture. Morey's Pier Forever!
Love the art on this one
Probably looks amazing with 3D glasses on!
Riders really got a lot of bang for their buck.
8 tickets for half an attraction is ridiculous.
I miss 92
I remember I couldn't wait for this to open. Still have the hat somewhere lol It was so much better then, longer and many actors to scare you. Still awesome though!
how much was admission unto the ghost ship
I believe it's 8 tickets.
@@DarkinthePark ok cool buddy. how much is a ticket?
@@jasoncallan I think around $1.20.
@@DarkinthePark thank u buddy.
@@DarkintheParkit's looks jump scary it's was
Those two screaming teens made this video 😆 so funny hearing there reactions 😆
I use to operate that ride back 1992 and 93. It was an absolute joy. Working for the Morey's back then.
I grew up down at the shore and remember how menacing this place was. My parents me and my brother, along with some family frienda all went to the castle one night. I was really little so I only have vague memories of this, but apparently my Dad was carrying me and one of the actors came up to my Dad and me to scare us but wouldn't stop and this was making my Dad really angry and punched the guy in the face while holding me no less. I was in an antique store a year ago and one of the vendors had envelopes with the Brigantine Castle letterhead on it and the vendor of that booth gave me one and I cherish it and goes out with my Halloween decor every year 😊
living on the shore and never having heard about this, i feel kinda crazy, this is so cool!!!!! thank you so much for sharing!!!
