i was the make up director and the 2nd one to be employed from its in speciation to it true demise in between the years of 2013 or 2014.the ship was a total 15 mins to walk threw with a second level we have 15 actors in those years. we where the #1 haunt in the east coast all of those years that ship spawned moreys fears it to was a hit with summer goes and locals. rest in peace jack Moery he was the man behind it all with out him it would have never happened. the ship that you just seen is a quarty of what it use to be. still a lot of fun thank you dark in the park for shooting this let keep the memorys alive.
I remember I couldn't wait for this to open. Still have the hat somewhere lol It was so much better then, longer and many actors to scare you. Still awesome though!
They used to have that ship horn set so loud you could hear it from the south hotels. Really REALLY loud. They don't do the horn anymore, as far as I'm aware.
Yes, I remember the air horn. It is still mounted on the second floor, but they stopped using it after a couple seasons....probably because people complained of the noise.
Yes, the second floor hasn't been open since 2019. Apparently, there is lots of repairs that need to made up there and the owners aren't sure it's worth the expense.
Rebuild Castle Dracula, keep up the maintence, repairs, staff and you will have a landmark that will bring in customers till the end of time. Morey's need a vision that is unique and different from amusement parks. This is different and will last but invest on the second floor and give people what they pay for. It's tome to bring back the character of the 5 piers in the past. That was great. Nothing like it running from pier to pier.
Currently, only the first level is open. The ship was closed for 3 summers during the pandemic. When it finally opened last summer, it was determined that the second floor was too deteriorated from being closed for so long that it wasn't worth reopening that portion of the ship.
This isn't bad but it's high maintanance and takes up too much room for what it REALLY is. It doesn't at all compare to Castle Dracula and dungeon boot ride that existed before the fire. I more or less understand the reasoning behind why they didn't rebuild it but I STILL believe they looked at it from the wrong perspectives and ultimately dropped the ball on something that could have very well been an international show piece that brought even more tourism to the Wildwoods. Imagine how much more grand of a footprint it could have been. This is nice to look at from outside but that's about it.

Unfortunately there’s no second floor anymore so no horn anymore
Those two screaming teens made this video 😆 so funny hearing there reactions 😆
This walk through was originally far longer. Now its a very short ride. Where is the claustrophobia chamber?

Is The ghost ship is only one level now, cause when I went through it in 2015 both levels were functional

So they removed the best part. The hallway where you get crushed between pillows in the dark. Sad. 😢
@@DrhoneydewPharmD I would actually walk around this part of the attraction. I don't like getting smeared with everyone else's body fluids.
8 tickets for half an attraction is ridiculous.
