Center Mitch Morse Will Get More Attention Than Deserved
The offensive line was the biggest problem for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but yet was the thing they addressed the least. With 1 exception, C Mitch Morse. Right, wrong, or indifferent, he will be the focus on the line and whether or not the team did enough to fix a problematic area might lay squarely on his play. Also, we analyze each rookie selected and give realistic expectations for each pick.

How Do You Feel About OT Cam Robinson?

How Do You Feel About OT Cam Robinson?
Strongly agree that Lloyd's best position is as a downhill, attacking linebacker. He has good play recognition and instincts moving forward, he takes on blocks well. I think he is going to have a huge year. His best games have been against power run teams, and in coverage, he's good at rallying to the ball in the flat and underneath routes, and against most tight ends, he can stick well in coverage; his struggles come when he has to maintain a high level of awareness in zone coverage against teams like the Chiefs and Niners.
Appreciate that there is a real opp for Lloyd to take another step. I know it's not gospel, but I broadly agree with PFF's rating of Lloyd last year though, where he graded out as a borderline elite run defender and was reliable in coverage most weeks. He had a couple tough games, but those were mostly earlier in the year. And he finished strong. My own viewing of the tape reinforces this, and I find it frustrating listening to Prisco kill this kid every week, or make the spurious claim that he played edge in college and ought to do that in the NFL. I think Lloyd makes another leap this year, but it's worth noting that he is already on a good trajectory. I think a lot of folks just don't know how to eval off-ball linebackers.
As a Kentucky Wildcat fan I was looking so forward to Fortner hitting the next level and being our center of the future, but unless he makes MASSIVE gains in both performance and aggression I don't see that happening. Can't have him getting pushed back constantly. Mitch Morse will hopefully help with his development and give us a few good years of being Trev's starting Center. GO JAGS!!!! Everydayer!!
ok u convinced me caPspace makes the oldguy feel we might raise a little cane for another free agent center . u said the mix to the soup. rotation.
yes tony our fanbase is very mouthy but at least we have super passion.
the center is the man that what ? calls lineplay. extreamly important.
yes tony its a proffessional take not college.
also just a thougt , travon is busting out this year, just my issue is how good devin is going to be?
hi tony good morning god bless, everydayer oldman here , yes you are right. m and m is very higly visable.
1:11 How did you know I was listening at work?!? ;-)
Yeah I know. He gets me too when he says that lol.
Our O-line still sucks... we signed Mitch Morse after the worst season of his career, his numbers last year were similar to Fortners so if he cant bounce back, its gonna look the same.
He deserves it if we are doing better.
I’ve been saying this even before free agency and the draft - the biggest need is offensive line, not WR or corner. We didn’t do anything except sign an old center and draft a swing tackle.
Do you think they will go to free agency for the o line?
I believe that the Jaguars knew it was the worst part of the team last year. That's why they designed the offense to get the ball out of Trevor's hand so fast. They knew that they were in trouble.
Shaun Alexander #37 Keyshawn Johnson #19 Stephen Davis #48 Jerome Bettis #36
All I expect from Mitch Morse is to not flop on the ground every play like Fortner did. If he can just be average, the line will be better. How much better? I have no idea, but we needed to address the interior O-Line in the draft and we didn’t. As for the rookies, I expect modest numbers from BTJ. It takes a couple seasons for rookie WR’s to develop. I think he will make a big leap in 2025 and be one of the best WR’s in the AFC in 2026.
Joe Montana took #19 when he played for the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS. We all thought that back in the day that if a QB was any good, they should rock #16. Joe was offered to rock the iconic #16, but he refused out of respect for one of his heroes, SUPERBOWL IV MVP Len "LENNY THE COOL" Dawson. All of a sudden, #19 didn't look so bad after all.
Most fans don't even know who Bobby Bonilla and THE CONTRACT even was.
R.e. returning, part of Agnew's issue (aside from the untimely fumbling) is the change to the kickoff rules. His returning style suited the old rules better, new rules favour a bigger returner so Duvernay becomes more valuable than Agnew I think.
Facts, I trust Wiggs insight
tony my question not really the issue but tony our team needs screams a fullback.
between you and I jordan jefferson is the gem of the draft it is exactly what we need , no shit tony in the senior bowl when he ripped the cats helmet off , I SAID GIVE ME THAT GUY ON OUR DLINE.
look christian kirk, btj, gabe, cephus, tim jones why best blocker mr relyable and landry. drop a te.
all this team needs is a 4 game positive turnaround in the win-loss collum. that would make us 13-4.
hey tony good morning wonderfull show , aside from everything this wr from the small school he looks really good tony?
A+ in the draft . The Houston Texans will have a much harder schedule then the jags because Houston won the division, right now we are a better team. We will find out just how good or bad CJ is.
The Jags often get talented receivers, unfortunately they don't stick around. Matt Jones was a dog on the field, but he shared his talents with the Jags briefly. Blackmon too.
Ridley had a 1000 yards never had great separation and wasn't in sink with Trevor at times.what they need is a speed burner that creates separation and can catch the ball up the middle , which will open up the field. We're not using the whole field.
Im not lying when I say the only comp for BTJ is Randy Moss!!
🍻🍻🍻🍻
Would’ve been good insurance to keep him around
Feel like I jinxed Zay. After we drafted Brian Thomas Jr I said that he reminds me of a better top speed Zay. They have similar size and agility and ability. Zay was a good tough guy, but injuries and some of the off field and money contributed to his cut.
Hey Tony. What's your opinion on trading for Marshon Lassiter? He'd be the Alpha in the secondary.
You talking about M. Lattimore?
We ain’t trying to win this year
We all just gotta cope wit it wigg I don’t think they really know what they doing
I just pray and hope everyone can stay healthy
Gabe Davis really couldn’t get an accurate ball either. He missed out on a lot of Tds with the Bills.
If Jags have "adequately addressed" WR position....then its comes down to the O-line...and Trevor. I like Morse and Ezra...and Anton should be alot better this year...but I still don't think we have done enough. If they stink it up again that is where Baake is vulnerable...BUT the OL Coaches would need to be on hot seat too. I think we should have our eyes on previous starters who get cut in training camp to add to depth....not undrafted FA. I am not counting on 7th rd Kid from last year who blew out his knee to help us much this year...
If Offense doesnt work....most likely fall guy will be Press Taylor in my opinion...I think enough of Baalke's moves in FA will pan out to cover his butt...and it usually goes OC before HC...ALL of this can be a Non Issue if Trevor would just STEP UP...cut down on the Turnovers and make plays at crunch time. If Trevor plays like a #10 rated qb....the Offense will be very good.
BTJ reminds me of BTJ in everyway
Btj fluidity reminds me of Randy
Man I hope they keep Josh Cephus -Texas San Antonio
Got that audio on point today 🤙🏻🐆💪🏼
Brian Thomas Jr is built like Megatron to me
BTJ reminds me of Mike Quick
Naw Megatron was like 6’4 230. Hell naw lol dude was huge.
@@maniacslap1623 Johnson was noted for having a rare combination of size (6 ft 5 in and 239 lbs), catching ability, speed (40-yard dash in 4.35........He's close 6'3 209lbs. and 4.33 in the 40
The RUclips channel Benchwarmerbran, says that the Colts have their QB in Richardson, but the Jags still do not have their QB. That guy is an idiot.
Curious to see what happens with Jarvis Landry visit 👀
*Tryout
excited to see our wr room flourish this year.
I'm excited about the addition of BTJ and we picked up a couple of UDFA WR's I really think will make the team. Wayne Ruby Jr. of Mount Union has 45 receiving TD's in the last two years and he's 6'1". Joshua Cephus is another WR we brought in from UTSA. He's 6'2" and was very impressive during the season. I had a 5th round grade on him, but some past alcohol issues kept him from being drafted. Getting him as an UDFA is a steal. I'm predicting our opening game WR's will be... Brian Thomas Jr., Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis, Wayne Ruby Jr., Joshua Cephus and Devin Duvernay.
