  • If GM Trent Baalke truly sticks to his old school roots that many have labeled him with, he could do what many fans have said is the unthinkable; draft a high ceiling offensive lineman in the 1st round this year.

    I would never complain about the Jags drafting an O-linemen. Weapons are useless with out protection. The trenches win Super Bowls.

      It's not about taking an O-Lineman. I'm fine with that, as long as they are the right one, (Alt, Fuaga or Fashanu.) Guyton is not even close to being ready. If you put him in now, you'll get Trevor hurt. Latham comes from Alabama and their OT's never live up to the hype. Pass. Mims has a very small resume' due to his extensive injury history. He reminds me too much of Walker Little.

    I'm cool with a tackle in the 1st round. The o-line is a major reason why we have been an average franchise for atleast a decade. Weapons aren't ish if you can't launch em. Doug won his championship with Nick Foles standing behind a fortress

    • @Kharmatos13
      @Kharmatos13 29 дней назад

      It's less about taking a tackle and more Baalke taking a bust. You got a Olu Fashanu from Penn State on the board or JC Latham from Bama and Baalke takes Tyler Guyton. You got Kool-Aid on the board and he takes some cover corner when DC Nielson is a press man guy.

    • @marcusredd4682
      @marcusredd4682 29 дней назад

      @Kharmatos13 Balke isn't my favorite dude either but he's almost flawless in round 1. He stinks after that. I'm hoping for Kool-aid over everyone personally but I'm never mad at a great OLine selection.

    I go back to what you said from your sit in at the luncheon with them where their thought process was “if this player is best available how much better is he than a player that fills a need” this would definitely be one of those scenarios where I can see this discussion happening. Another thing that makes it more of a possibility than people realize is this. If they view quality receivers as a pool that stretches late second early third along with cb in that same light, then I definitely see them grabbing best available offensive linemen. Just off of Cams availability, contract and not completely dominating on the field I definitely feel he becomes cap expendable. It’d be the perfect situation to bring in a solid future starter to learn behind him or step in for him not if but when he goes down. He will get experience without having to be absolutely crucified starting from day 1. I honestly like the idea.

    This is gonna end up being one of, if not the best, draft classes of all time and probably because of the covid year guys. We're all worried that Baalke's gonna be the one GM who fucks it up and drafts busts. Go all in and trade up to the top 5 for Rome or Nabers. Or trade down twice for more 2nds and 3rds. Corner 1st, edge and wr 2nds, cb 2 and wr 2 3rds, LT and RT 4th's.

    • @Kharmatos13
      @Kharmatos13 29 дней назад

      Kool-aid in the 1st (and am even cool with trading next years 1st for a 1st this year for JPJ). Darius Robinson and Keon Coleman in the 2nd. Ronaldo Green cb from FSU and Javon Baker wr UCF in the 3rd and Javon Foster LT from Mizzou and Christian Jones RT from Texas in the 4th and that's a great draft class.

    The Cowboys are actually good at and are known for developing O-Line. Guyton going there when they don't exactly need the guy is a good thing FOR THEM. He would suck in J-ville.

  • @Rateus_Johanson

    4:40 I wouldn't hate the right O-lineman in the first round. Alt, Fashanu, Fuaga Fautanu would all be reasonable (although for the last three of those it's around value, in which case there should be a comparable CB which is over a bigger need so should be taken in preference). It feels a little early for any of the guards.
    I'd certainly be happier with drafting a tackle who's fallen lower than expected than reaching for a back of the first round WR because all of the top guys are already off the board.

    If Jags want to draft a Tackle to sit and develop, I’d much prefer that be a later pick (Rosengarten, Jones, Rouse). If they want to draft to start and say goodbye to Cam, I understand going for Latham, Fashanu, Fuaga. I don’t want an early draft pick to be a project.

    Leaving Cam Robinson at LT would be fine if he already had a long-term deal to keep him paired with Harrison for a long time, and he wasn't a near guarantee to miss 4-8 games a season. But re-signing him now...I just don't know. He's in that gray area where any decision you make on him results in second-guessing.

  • @jayshupp5971
    @jayshupp5971 29 дней назад +2

    My biggest draft fear is missing out on all the top WR’s (MHJ, Odunze, Nabers, BTJ, Leggette and Baker) and wasting a first round pick on J.C. Latham, Tyler Guyton or Amarius Mims. Alabama OT’s never live up to the hype and Guyton is WAY too raw. He’s not even close to starting. If you line him up before he is ready, you’ll get Trevor hurt. Mims doesn’t have enough of a resume’. He’s injury prone. I still would be fine with an O-Lineman in round 1, but only if it’s Alt, Fuaga or Fashanu.

      Facts. That's exactly it. Baalke takes the one wrong guy. It's not the position, it's the wrong guy and the wrong guy when premium talent elsewhere is on the board.

    Another draft another O line man. Snoozer. This is what happens when the Jaguars can't develop 4th to 7th rounders. The whole O line will eventually consist of all 1st rounders.
