      Thanks man, and I completely agree, I'm so done with this draft cycle! I'm gonna be thrilled to get into it on Thursday since I've probably poured somewhere around a thousand hours into preparing for the 2024 NFL Draft.

    I’m counting down the hours until this draft I’m so done and tired of reading mock drafts for the jaguars on cbs were they pick the same 3 players every time.

    It would suck to lose out on Nabers & Odunze to our division rivals, then not pick a Cornerback to counter that at #17. That's the worst case scenario in my opinion 😅

    FWIW Over The Cap has that trade ranked heavily in favour of The Giants (them giving up 2094 points to receive 4094 from The Jags). Not saying that that's unrealistic of what it would take, it just underlines how much you have to overpay to move up.
    (It reckons The Giants still win the trade with just a 1st round pick swap and us giving them 114, but there's no way in hell they'd accept that!)
    17:50 Take the wide receiver because the wide receiver scores points is such a stupid argument. Also probably just a GM smoke screen though.
    23:10 That's a really neat re-work. The only thing that might hinder it is the Giants not trusting The Jags not to snaffle their guy. We heard last year when The Jags traded with The Bills they were cagey about revealing what position they were taking, reluctantly confirming it would be offensive with Trent pushed them. Giants know we want WR but not which, you'd have to give them a very tempting offer to convince them to swap with you given that they know you want the same positional group as them (or just be straight up and tell them who you were coming up for I guess).

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  10 дней назад

      Yeah, the trade is going to naturally be heavily in favor of the Giants just because of the caliber of prospect you're pursuing and how they have to move back which is why I proposed a three-team trade. I hope the Titans are putting on a smoke screen honestly, but I think they're being honest and would salivate at the mouth over an opportunity to take away another top receiver from Jacksonville knowing we want to move up for him.

    I agree 100%. Personally, I'm slightly higher on Odunze, but I'd be thrilled with Nabers and I'd give up virtually anything to get either one of them. I'd even give up next year's first rounder, if that's what it takes. I can't stress the importance of getting Trevor a #1 WR. We wasted way too much money on Gabe Davis in free agency. If we hadn't made this colossal mistake, maybe I'd be all in on going after Aiyuk or Higgins, but we've got too much money right now, invested on a sub-par WR room. We MUST start to draft and develop players at this position. Trevor can't take the next step, without an influx of talent at the position and the top 3 WR's in this draft are as close to "sure-things" as you get in a draft. I even think the "bust rate" of Brian Thomas Junior is fairly low, compared to top receivers in past drafts. I think it's imperative we draft one of these guys and it would help this team so, so much. We'd be a top 5 offense within 2-3 years. Personally, I think Nabers goes off the board to the Giants and definitely no later than the Titans. That would be very, very bad. Is it just me, or do we always seem to be just out of position to draft superstar offensive players? It just seems that way. I just think trading up in reality, is a long shot. I'm expecting to be HUGELY disappointed. Something tells me we're gonna draft Tyler Guyton at #17.

    I feel like more Jags fans would like you as GM than Trent with this sort of aggressiveness in the first round. Then again Trent is setting a pretty low bar recently so perhaps that's not saying a deal ;-)
    I also fear that this is a pipe dream that is setting you up for Thursday night disappointment.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  10 дней назад +1

      I think the fans would prefer a lot of people to rather play general manager for the team because, like you said, the bar is set really low. I don't expect us to get Malik Nabers, but I just want my thoughts out there for when it's a few years down the road and we potentially regret not making this move.

    7:10 Mentioning no names *cough* Raiders *cough*
    10:30 idk man, a team with a bad O-line investing in a WR at the top of the draft and as a result falling just short. Sounds highly possible that The Jags follow that Bengals model if they draft Nabers. You've gotta hope not though, Trevor was sacked a lot less than Burrow was that year, it was more the total failure to establish the run game that killed it than pass protection

    How much tune did chase and Jefferson spend in the slot at LSU? I might be biased, but I think the jags are one of the highest character franchises right now. I think there are a lot of good role models on this team.

    • @cardiacatsbrand
      @cardiacatsbrand  10 дней назад

      I'm glad you asked this because fun fact, Justin Jefferson played 870 of his 949 snaps in the slot during the 2019 season. That was his final year in college. Ja'Marr Chase played 689 of 819 snaps outside in his final season which was also in 2019, so one of them was guaranteed to play outside.
