so i think you are misleading the viewers a little bit in the beginning of your video. The beginning of the SILO episode does not show the rebellion from the SILO where Juliette was living (which is implied by how you are telling "the story"). Those people are actually from another SILO. It's the one where Juliette enters in the first 5-10 minutes of the episode.

Am I the only one who noticed that Irving’s outie has Burt’s outie’s address and himself’s circled on the map already? I think Irving has rebelled before (perhaps Burt too), as if no matter what Lumon does, they keep on gravitating to the same people again and again, and they keep on being reset, and perhaps their Lumon chip updated to better reduce their memories. This is also why I think they’re an experimental arm of the company, why their department is so empty when so many severed employees exist supposedly everywhere in the US or world.

I think that the beginning has innie mark waking up after learning that ms. casey, and him running through the hallway is him trying to figure out what's going on/to talk to his other mdr members. The flashes of helly getting the procedure represents mark thinking about her, and as he's running he starts thinking "what about ms casey?". Just thought it could be an interesting choice visually. Also, Im pretty sure the new mdr members are supposed to be similar? like the suave dude in the middle has his own head on a reward, which is really similar to mark, but it feels a lot more like a trophy, which REALLY reminds me of dylan. I wonder if they represent the four tempers, kind of like how a lot of people had speculated, and they are (From left to right) supposed to represent mark, dylan, and irving, with mark being the stand in for helly...

Wouldn't opening the massive door make a sound? - Finally: “Silo” is not an impartial production. You’d think that storytelling this dark would be a step forward for screenwriting, but it’s not. This series isn’t written out of any care for mankind, but rather from a place of resentment. The devices of its politics are easily identifiable, employed repeatedly across countless contemporary productions (The Rings of Power is an example). This hidden concept schedule aims to inculcate the viewer towards bias: all men in these creations are portrayed as either inept, spineless or destructive. Parents are all horrible and all Caucasians are evil. The post-modern narrative that all men are corrupt and all mankind is irredeemable is not true: there are Captain Picards. There are Supermen and Batmen in real life. Frodo and Samwise are everywhere in the wonderful people who work hard and care for their families; they are the vast majority of the country and the planet. Those of us who are film industry professionals HAVE A DUTY to alert you and explain this to you, the audience. Something about this show is just so captivating. I could watch Juliette assembling and testing gadgets for hours.

Depending upon how long ago that Silo's rebellion was, the dude behind the door could have been a really young child that remained behind. I wonder how many others also remained behind, but died of old age and/ore lack of resources. She could be dealing with a relatively feral child who survived into adulthood by scavenging whatever was left.

So happy to be back watching Silo with Nautilus. 😃

Perhaps I'm missing something here but how silo Juliet is in right now has any power? We know the generator was flooded. I'm assuming backup power was at the same level as generator?

Gemma was severed before her accident and only the outie version died but not the innie?

5:37 I could absolutely be wrong, but I felt Helly was maybe not really trying to take her own life, but to get her outie to realize it is complete hell in there and that she was willing to take her own life. Why wouldn't she just do it in the bathroom if she really just wanted to go?

This episode feels very inspired by LOST. I`m loving the visual storytelling, Juliette is just an awesome character to see in action but this ending is so derivative OF COURSE THERES SOMEONE ELSE INSIDE OF COURSE THEY GONNA CUT RIGHT AFTER! I`ve seen that before I expected something cooler from Silo.

Brilliant analysis as ever! You helped me see some things I'd missed. I wondered about the significance of the song. Moon River is about a yearning for adventure, for new pastures, to see the world. And doing that with another person. "Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' the same." This could be menacing or comforting in this context. These two people are stuck here together, whether they like each other or not. Perhaps they will go on an adventure together? "Two drifters off to see the world," "Life's just around the bend, my friend." Maybe I'm reading to much into it, but they chose that song for a reason. It see it as hopeful, but, yeah. The situation is obviously very tense and ends with a death threat. So.

I kinda wonder if the founders were from the original government or corporate entity above ground and are secretly to blame for the poisonous atmosphere hence the surveillance apparatus they have going to prevent rebellion which ironically the blowback encourages more rebellion. I have never read the books but I'm just deducing. Loving the worldbuilding in this episode!

I'd disagree that his retro look and feel is out if place, but that he perfectly blends into the Lumon interior design and aesthetic, which is very mid century corporate inspired. Its not yhat Milchick is out of time, but that Lumon as a whole is, and he is a seamless extension of Lumon.

Me and my wife have watched the show several times through, and every time we go through it Ricken gets more and more interesting. We have a tinfoil hat theory where he is actually a disgraced Eagan who is being paid off in exchange for his silence on family secrets. Thus, his and Devon‘s obvious lifestyle/career mismatch. This would also explain all of their friends‘ almost god-like worship of Ricken, despite him being strange and silly. (Think of the one friend who in the last episode finds the baby and runs off saying „I‘m the one who found her“). Just a crazy theory but I’m fully convinced and will be devastated if they don’t do this. 😂
