    There are 2 scenes that people are not talking enough about.
    1. I believe the priest had heard about the missing family and her baby's passing and wanted to confirm that this was her by asking about her other children. I think this is eluding to how the priest will share this information with either the police or someone in his congregation who he thinks can help.
    2. I believe Victors father was accused of having something to do with his family's disappearance and is use to being accosted by the press/cold case investigators about his families whereabouts. He may have suffered the ridicule and judgment of his community for having spoken out about From and all the crazy things that his wife has told him from her comings and goings. She knows more than we think.

    5:50 - I'm pretty sure we did know this detail before. Thomas was on the changing table and the phone rang. Jim answered it, thinking Tabby was watching Thomas, while Tabby was getting a diaper, and thought Jim was watching Thomas. While both were distracted, Thomas rolled off of the table and died from the fall.
    6:15 - I don't think it's Fatima. In the episode credits, she's listed as "Kimono Woman," and the actress is different. Also, we've never seen Fatima in a kimono. 🙂

    Until this episode, I assumed they put all the animals in the barn every night. I was surprised they'd leave them out at night AND have no talisman in the barn.

    • @bread_sticks
      @bread_sticks Месяц назад +4

      Since the monsters never attacked the animals before I wouldn't be suprised if they wanted to save all the talismans for the people.
      Alternatively, if i remember correctly from the episode, if the barn door was already opened, so talisman or not the monsters can get in.
      Sara's brother seemed to be the main animal care taker and since he died it seems the town hasn't selected a new person to take over. So the animals now seem to be taken care of by everyone.
      I can absolutely see this as an oversight. Like a family forgetting to feed their dog because everyone assumes the other people did it.
      I would also like to factor in that the season is changing which might result in sunset happening a lot earlier than people are used to, so they might run out of daylight to finish tasks. But that's just my take on it.

      I think the season needed to start with reestablishing the monsters as a real threat- and they definitely did that!
      Victor seemed to know the monsters were up to something- but didn't seem like he felt safe indoors.
      I wonder if we're going to see the monsters just walk on indoors and say "Surprise- these Talismans NEVER DID SHIT."
      After all, the monsters aren't repelled by the Talismans and they even make a point of throwing them on the floor whenever they get inside...

    The way the episode played out I think the creatures that moved Boyd and Sarah in the woods would be those wood figures that Jim and Kenny saw, they are just monsters sleeping like that in the day time but at night they start moving, this would answer questions but then make more at the same time.

    I actually think Tabitha did mention her child falling off a changing table. Am not sure what season it was but am pretty sure it's not the first time I heard that story.
    I don't think the wet lady is trying to hurt anyone she just look scary. I think she is just trying to send a message or a warning.
    The rules of the town has definitely changed tho, remember someone did say the animals actually just came from the woods. Either they were always there left over from earlier residents or maybe the town gave it to them. Either way the powers that be are clearly taking them back along with changing the seasons so that crops can't grow.
    All in all Boyd is definitely at the center of it all cass he has been making moves and going places he ain't supposed to. It will all pay off in the end but I think it's gonna get a lot worse

    Thank’s bro! This was a crazy opening with a horrible, terrifying ending.
    I believe at this point, that this whole series is about human endurance. Sooner or later, we’ll see that behind this whole distorted reality of Fromville, stands a few real, very nihilistic people, who just want to test the human will to survive (remember the weird guy who talked to Jim in the radio in season 1 finale? Not flesh eating creature, just a very normal, human monster of a man).
    And after this episode, I can only wish that Boyd and Kenny will go medieval on those evil f*ckers. That will be so… satisfying.

  • @peachblossom1313

    I noticed that the show was hinting at Tian-Chen being the next to die in an ominous foreshadowing earlier in the episode. When Boyd goes to speak to Ethan after catching him eavesdropping, Ethan replies that he wants Alma to go first so "she doesn't have to watch her friends die". Also after doing minimal research, I've put together some possible clues? Alma's name means "Soul" or "Spirit" in spanish, she is also a goat. Tian-Chen Liu translates roughly in mandarin Chinese (i am not of Asian descent so please correct me if I'm wrong) to: Tian-Chen - "farmland"/"As if made by heaven"; Liu means (classical) "to kill/slaughter". I think Alma being a goat/grazing animal is probably like a sort of a detail as well. Also as another sort of possible hint found was that in biblical times, goats were used in many sacrifices, and were permitted by God for sacrifice and Tien-Chen was a Christian. These could be something or maybe just nonsense, who knows? :)

    So if you pause when Tabitha is walking out of the hospital you can see a number on the ambulance parked outside, 1069. The same number is on the ambulance that Boyd is trying to get while the monsters taunt him in the season preview. So I think maybe Tabitha will be making back to the town via stolen ambulance or possibly in the back of the ambulance after getting injured.

    Ok so there is a common thread between all the residents of fromville. They all landed there during a huge transition or after a tragedy. They want Boyd because he is the leader who keeps the village hopeful. I think those who lose hope become one of the monsters and right now there are a few townies on the verge of crossing over. The question is.. can they be saved before they cross over? I also think Tabitha and victors dad will find their way back. And my final thought is that the boy in white is Thomas.

    We had heard about the death of Tabitha's baby- Thomas- in season one.
    The phone rang, distracting both Tabby and Jim at the same moment and the baby rolled off the changing table and fell on the floor.
    That damn phone ringing. Hmmm.
    The dead woman in Elgin's dreams is possible Nadia.
    In season two, Elgin asks Fatima if there's a body of water around and she takes him to The Brundels - a pond near Colony House where people would go to cool off and have fun. We first seen it in season one when Fatima does NOT want to go in the water but Ellis pulls her in.
    Fatima tells Elgin that some people react to Fromville differently- with dreams and visions and she says this girl Nadia became obsessed with it but in the end, it just tells them they're stuck there.
    I think Fatima inherited Nadia's kimonos and wears them to honor her dead friend.
    I think Elgin's grandma escaped Fromville and told him all about the place when she was in the old folks home that he'd visit her in every weekend.
    I think Elgin is trying to remember how her stories went so they can get out too.
    That's why he flipped out upon seeing the town and knew about the Brundels.

    I think the name of the series "From" has more significance than people realize. As I'm starting to believe that the Town/Forest and the dark entities that reside there all came From the mind. The From Place has drawn from the many occupants mind's over the centuries. Once likely a featureless void-like pocket dimension. Born out of chance. Or alternatively made by design of a powerful deity. The From place was likely given shape by its first occupant "The boy in white". But The From Place gradually became corrupted over time. Darker elements began to seep in From the minds of the other occupants. Elements From Nightmares and Folklore given shape and power. Creatures born From Fear. That feed on Fear.

    • @nautilusfiles
      @nautilusfiles  Месяц назад +2

      Yeah, the town definitely reflects their darkest fears back at them, implying that the victim plays a part in creating the nightmare. We still don't know exactly how it works yet, but their subconscious thoughts seem to spring to life while trapped in this place.

    • @SmithFamily-d7q
      @SmithFamily-d7q Месяц назад +1

      @@nautilusfiles It makes it really interesting if that's the case. Because what causes fear has changed and morphed over time. So people from different time periods could have brought their own fear's and superstition's from their time/culture. Meaning the show could throw almost anything at us next. A amalgam of horrors. And I'm all for it!

    The writers are clearly playing with religious themes. "Our Lady Fatima" is a reference to the Virgin Mary....with a miraculous pregnancy no less.
    Boyd's, being the leader, with wounds on his shoulder, from the biblical story of Christ's wounds, not to mention his blood is basically a holy sacrament. Given that, and other symbolism I've seen, my money is on From being set in Limbo. Since all of the people there are unable to move forward in their lives since before they arrived in the town.
    Father Khatri is likely Minos. Boyd tells him the truth as Khatri offers counterpoint and judges. Also, part of Dante's Inferno talks about how Christ rescued some people from Limbo following his crucifixion so the statement Boyd makes about all leaving together would be apt.
    I haven't figured out who everyone else represents but Boyd is clearly Christ, Fatima is the Virgin Mary and Father Khatri is Minos. Donna is probably Mary Magdalene. And the boy in white? Presumably God leading the way.
