Honestly I've not been more hyped for a show in years.
That was the most info we've gotten for season 2 severance for like years omg omg.
Now I'm feeling like, maybe I should dodge the rest of the trailers when they come out and just wait for the season release, since we're getting close :D

I think what you see in the teaser is in some scene set in the past, of what happened to Mark when he started working at the company. I guess this season they are going to show scenes from the past of each character.
It is definitely possible. It would be my 2nd guess behind reintegration.

I had originally interpreted the table scene as a flashback to Mark’s first day at Lumen. Maybe he is remembering it for some reason and so it is distorted. But other interpretations are equally possible at this point.

I don't think I commented about it but lowkey you got me into Silo! Because I love your Severance vids, I think I saw a notif pop up and I was like, oh what's Silo? When I saw the feel of the show, like the grungy colors and stuff I was like, you know what, if Nautilus likes this enough to mention it or have theories on it, then I should check it out. So pretty much just seeing that you reviewed something made me give it a watch 😂. Me and my mom watched it together and we liked it :). I also think it's interesting that its one of the few things people feel is, as an adaptation, better than the original.

Great analysis, I agree with your take on the teaser trailer. I was struck by what Milchick was wearing. A sports jacket over a blue turtle neck (Tramell Tilman looks amazing, of course), and a Lumon water drop pin. I don't remember seeing him wear one in Season 1.
Of course, this could just be a wardrobe change-up for Season 2, but in Season 1, Milchick only departed from his uniform of white button-up and tie for the musical dance experience, when he wore a white turtle neck. I don't think we've seen him in any colour other than white.
Blue is associated with the innie life, while red is associated with the outie life (Mark's red shirt, red pyjamas, red fish, the robe that Mark gives Petey is red and blue striped to represent his reintegrated state). So maybe Milchick's blue sweater and blue balloons just say "Hey, Mark, you really are definitely an innie right now!". Or maybe the blue sweater and water drop pin (seen only on Natalie and Ms. Casey in Season 1 I think) say something about Milchick himself.
when i saw Milchick with his new uniform the first thing i thought of was him maybe being promoted? I mean at the end of last season, Graner was dead and Harmony was fired, leaving only Milchick to watch over the severed floor. And HE is technically the one who put a stop to the whole plan, so the "board" might look favorably upon that. And it wouldn't be the first time we see someone get promoted out of the blue because someone is unexpectedly fired, it happened in episode 1 with Mark. just kinda brainstorming lmk what you think!

I’m wondering WHY Lumin would want him back unless it’s necessary. I think there’s more to the types of personalities / people that they need for data mining.
I felt the same way about Halle. She kept causing chaos yet they never fired her. And then the end of the season perfectly explained it.

I'm so excited for both shows to return. And I think you're right in your speculations for both. I can't decide which one I'm more excited about. Maybe Severance by a little bit. And I didn't read the Silo books either, but have heard a bit about what happens (when watching Silo videos). I'm excited to hear that they are deviating (so that the book readers don't know everything that will happen).
And I'm still surprised by how many shows AppleTv makes that I'm interested in.

I think I remember reading a year ago that Ben Stiller hinted that Season 2 is going to have a lot more horror than Season 1, which I'm looking forward to. Mr. Milchick with a bunch of balloons is probably more ominous than it would appear. Milchick smiling and talking in this truly condescending manner suggests that he is sure that whatever they did to Mark must have "worked." That he has been re-set or his memory has been wiped, so he is confident that everything on the severed floor can go back to "normal."
If this were the case, then we wouldn't have any suspense would we? Mark probably does have a little bit of Petey's dual consciousness. Perhaps Mark is sneaking onto the severed floor at an odd time and the last thing he expects to see is Milchick, much less with balloons! Or maybe Mark just saw Milchick on the outside and this is the other Milchick, so this encounter would be quite unexpected. More than one Milchick would be truly scary, no?

Best analysis I have seen of this trailer! I agree, reintegrated Mark seems the obvious focus of the new season. He wasn’t ready to reintegrate earlier in season 1, but with the knowledge of Gemma being alive he has the motive. And the fierce determination on his face in this trailer just confirms that

On a side note, I don't mind when books and live action adaptations are different, as long as live action is good and stays true to the spirit of the story. For instance I loved "The Three Body Problem" as the book trilogy, and I also really liked the Netflix version of it so far. I have no issues if "Silo" does the same thing. It is like two for the price of one ;)
The chaotic cutting of the teaser reminds me of the intro.

I agree that Mark probably severed the severance to go after Gemma. He would have to convince Lumen that he was properly reconditioned for them to let him back, though. That's a lot.

Yeah, I don’t think we’re seeing Mark in a flashback here. If I were to bet, I’d bet that you’re right about Mark wanting to do whatever he has to do in order to get back to the severed floor and his wife. The question this raises for me is how they’ll get the rest of the gang back to the severed floor. It seems possible that their severed contracts include a clause require re-severance if somehow something goes wrong with their first severance. Like they’re contracted for a certain number of years and can get re-severed again and again, if necessary, for that duration.
Mr. Milchick absolutely appears to be welcoming Mark back after some time off. But the wording of, "Haven’t seen you for a minute," is very loaded. No matter how long someone is gone from the severed floor, when they come back, it’s like they just left a minute ago. If Mark retains his "innie" memories and is returning after having been gone for weeks or months, it’ll seem to him like he was indeed just there a minute ago. Whatever Mr. Milchick means there, it seems like the wording is absolutely intentional.
Of course, we might just be seeing some random clips of Mark freaking out in a dream or some such thing. I think there’s intention behind what they’re showing us, however.
But Oh Em Geeeeee! Finally, finally, finally something new to look at and speculate about!!! I’m not sure I’ve ever anticipated a TV show as much as I’m anticipating season 2 here.

I wanted to wait on the series to be over as well, but i can’t explain how much I’ve thought about this show and how many people I’ve told about it. I HAD TO READ THEM! I’m on the 2nd book now and I’m actually so glad they’re taking creative liberties bc the story is so good yet I’m still excited to see what they come up with!
I do wish these were separate videos because I haven't watched Silo at all but I don't want spoilers
I read the sequence in the trailer as a flashback to Mark's Severance and first day at Lumon: The operating room, the conference table etc. The look on determination is on his first day and kinda "let's do this" after all his grief following Gemma's "death".
But, I totally get the reintegration angle now you point that out. Narratively, it would make sense for the writing team to put 1 or 2 "quieter" episodes at the from to S2 - doing flashbacks to some or all of the characters past, probably their first days as Innies - as a way to keep the dramatic tension going in the immediate aftermath of S1 finale. But that's me being vaguely sadisitic to the audience 😈

If I remember correctly, there are meaning to colors. I vaguely remember something that has to do with a drawing of the rebellion but I might be wrong, something with green signifying death or greed. The balloons that Milchik is holding with Mark's face on them are all blue. Maybe there's a meaning behind it. If anyone remembers anything with colors, please comment.

i’ve seen Ben Stiller at tennis matches and basketball games and every time i think “what the hell Ben? why aren’t you cracking the whip to get those Severance episodes out??!?!” because i watch sports too much and am extremely frustrated by the lack of Severance in my life.

Milchick wouldnt speak to a newborn innie in that manner. I think apple threw us a curveball 😅 why do i think a lot of that teaser is from the new opening sequence for the show? Lol the silo footage is intriguing. Did Mechanical round up the troops and the mayor said that because he knew him & his people are outnumbered? Great teasers because i literally feel teased lol. They left me wanting more.
Under 10 seconds of new material but it felt like shooting up heroin for the first time. The best show since LOST. Pure audio visual crack.

I’m thinking that shot of Mark undergoing a procedure is him getting reintegrated. But that’s obviously just a guess. I’m not going to say anything about Silo since I read the books.

Your theory is obviously FALSE. The Board has confirmed on multiple occasions that reintegration is not possible, so why are proposing that Mark has been reintegrated? Please refrain from heretical assertions.
