Thanks for this.
are you planning to make a video like this for 4.0?
I absolutely agree
great vid. thanks for the fps !
Love this video format.
There is a reason to choose military or industrial components over stealth... survivability. IF you get hit those components can fail sooner than military or industrial. Unfortunately not all ships have their components that can be hit.
@@louhodo5761 While I get the "fantasy" or even "intent" of the developers to create that scenario, the game's balance doesn't allow it to play out. The hitpoint count in itself simply doesn't offset the advantage of not being lockable.
Meanwhile pdcs and turrets have 500k distortion health and a 1s charge now
Hmm. That seems like a less than balanced set of numbers.
Hmm i have an issue with the turn V-sync off comment. I sadly suffer from screen tearing quite a bit in games. I upgraded to a 144hz monitor at 1440p recently but still get tearing every now and then, so unless there is another way, im all ears
You're not the first person I've heard that from, but I haven't had an issue with that in a long time, but I've also been using G-sync, so the game having to be locked to the monitor refresh isn't really a thing. Have you checked to make sure you have G-Sync/FreeSync set up properly? You should be able to run that but disable the game's vsync option.
Corsair is now nerfed to the ground. Still can do stuff but Connie series is better until it gets nerfed….
Yeah, that was a sad day :-(. Connie is definitely it now.
Stealth is the most important thing to military aircraft in general so it being important isn't the issue. Making it a compelling choice is
Tell that to the A10 LMAO
Stealth is more important now for aircraft performing BVR engagements(mostly fighters, interceptors and bombers). Aircraft that perform other roles (CAS, tankers etc) doesn't really have much use for stealth as it would just heavily increase the cost of these aircraft (just look at the price of stealth aircraft today).
@galece Stealth is important yes, but what is stealthy today won't be tomorrow, there are rumours that f22 are already detectable for western radars. I'm my opinion, jamming systems is the way, and that's what French chose with the Rafale.
@@chrissssa a10 only operates with air superiority secured from my knowledge
@@chrissssa yeah but if something is jamming multiple towers at the same time it is possible to triangulate the source of the jamming. Easier to do more accurately with AI.
You are my hero! Thank you for your hard work!!!
They'll wait for Firebird and hornet ghost sales to fully dry up before they balance anything
Nah, don't need stealth. Just continue developing alternatives. For instance, stealth components aren't the most fuel efficient, which is relevant with higher fuel costs / lower fuel supply. I'm also thinking about Jared recently saying the Shipyards he and John Crew wrote years ago are about to become very relevant, including the one about limiting which item types can be used in which ships. In that case, stealth components might not even be an option for most ships.
Stealth Military A is in 4.0...just locked behind CZ which is majorly bulshit because only 1 person can get the final prize
No it's great I don't have a stealth ship, I enjoy the struggle when I face one
No, keep stealth.
Ever hear about the survivability onion? 1: Don't be there. Don't be somewhere the enemy is looking for you. 2: Don't be seen. If you have to be somewhere the enemy is looking for you, don't let them see you. 3: Don't be targeted. If you are seen by the enemy, don't let them get a clean shot on you. 4: Don't be hit. If the enemy gets a clean shot on you, do everything you can to prevent them from actually landing a shot. 5: Don't be penetrated. If the enemy lands a shot, have enough armor to prevent the round from doing any damage. 6: Don't die. If you are penetrated, have the means available to survive the attack. There is no next layer to the onion. Notice that not being seen is far more important than how survivable or armored you are. The absolute best way to survive being shot is to never be shot in the first place. You can't hit what you can't see. That's why stealth ships are strong.
Damn right!
We just came out of years upon years of stealth being damn near useless after all components were normalized and didn't have any different stats.. now you want them to nerf stealth again? Just remove stealth gameplay entirely then. In MM anything over 3k, and you might as well just be shining a big ass beacon to where your location is. Do stealth Firebirds suck because they can lob so many missiles from OUTSIDE detection range? Yes. But that's a problem with the ship not increasing emissions while weapons/lock is on. It should be a conscious decision - if your weapons are on it should dramatically increase emissions. And lock down stealth components TO ships that are stealth. It's kind of silly I can slap all of it on a Vulture and get sub 5k emissions range (but still limited by CS orientation) Let's also nerf the Mantis too since we're talking about things being too strong, right? 12k jammer range to keep you from going anywhere indefinitely even if they have no plan on actually fighting you - you're just locked down until they're bored and either they leave or you quit the game because you're not closing 12k distance with them if they don't want to be closed in on.
Key words, "right now". I imagine there will be upgraded radars available that will detect stealth. Upgraded missiles that can track lower emissions. Just waiting for crafting. Remember "right now" is a test environment.
If they're being realistic, upgraded radars should still detect stealth ships later than non-stealth. But that's still helpful if you can feed the targetting data to other ships
Big question is what should counter stealth and how?
Crafting
Radar
Having high radar range and sensitivity makes one super noticeable but it allows one to see more of what is trying to be hidden.
Specialized radar ships like the tracker. You should have to beat specialized ships with other specialized ships.
It would make sense for the stealth properties of a ship to degrade with damage. Perhaps they could only be restored in places with specialized facilities (not any landing pad) and be very expensive (100k range for fighters)
I love stealth ! I have Firebird but I thinks also take a Saber'normal" with loadout focus stealth :à
I also ask myself the question of taking a Sabre, but my brake is that it seems that a MK2 version will be released soon in 2025 and I would prefer Pledge this new Saber MK2 !!!
Store Citizen
Wow such a good joke you’d make 2017 proud
Isn't this the game that makes people buy everything with real money?
Every ship you can buy in game ?
In games stealth is usually overpowered
That was the case earlier on development when shops weren't online.
kind of. they are selling gear that is a 1x use and can be lost easily, and often enough not retrieved at all, for real money, making those real money bought items lost until the next large patch resets everything. one of those packs wasn't even differently coloured and 1:1 stuff you could very cheaply buy ingame. so they are just messing with new players that don't know better. then they sell an overpriced "cargo beam" (everything is a beam) with some basic functions that regular cargo beams should have. totally overpriced for real money, but you could get it ingame cheap enough now too. then there is crap items for decoration. stuff you get thrown at you in other games just for playing and logging in for a streak or something. not here, you have to 1. subscribe and then 2. buy in the subscriber store only available to subscribers. and then again, if you put those items anywhere outside but your safezone it will be a one-time use until lost. i doubt the legality of that but nobody has the time, money and can be bothered to legally challenge them on that, so they'll just keep doing it.
Nah.
Love the video fellow motion blur hater!
I wanted to like the Polaris, but it's been unimpressive, to say the least. I hope the Perseus doesn't meet the same fate.
It's going to be interesting territory as we receive ships that were written into someone's fantasy idea of how the game would work, and try to integrate them into the game that actually exists. The Polaris is definitely not what was advertised and can't be used in that particular way because its kind of role doesn't exist.
@UniversityofStanton I agree. That said, working in PM and PE roles. Based on CIG's track record. My confidence is low. Scope, timeliness, accountability, and overall management of the project has been abysmal. I'm starting to believe that based on the turn-overs, the root of this systemic issue is directly aimed at CR himself, which may be the direct output of the above said symptoms.
i've done the F7A mission on my own was a pain but the ship was worth i finally a hornet that isn't ugly af :D
I have a 5600x and a 2070, no matter how low or high turn down the graphics my computer will either not render in objects such as trains which I need to ride, or just entire rooms and buildings, also my game gets super choppy and crashes if I freeze while doing a simple task and press another input. I have 32gb of ram and the game is downloaded on an SSD. I stress tested my 5600x and it performs as the average 5600x would same with my 2070. Anyone have any ideas what could be the issue? I'm running on 1440p and use dlss and usually decent fps around 60-70+ when my game isn't being chopping from loading new objects.
That's really interesting - we should check your virtual memory settings and make sure you don't have pagefiles on slow drives (which can cause effects like that sometimes). For some of these things (assets not appearing where you expect them to be) your internet connection could also be to blame.
I have two SSDs: 1 nvme where I have my OS and another for data, a "normal" SSD, does it change anything in terms of performance if I install SC on the same disk as my OS?
Good question. This depends on the overall performance of each drive. I would recommend using a tool like CrystalDiskMark to test the functional speed of each drive. If they're around the same, I would keep the OS and pagefile on one and the game on the other. If the NVME drive is significantly faster than the normal SSD though, it's probably worth having everything on the NVME.
Hi, so I actually started to play the game yesterday and right as I got into the tutorial after 15 mins I quit… I have a overclocked rtx 4090 a Ryzen 7 7800x3d and 64gb of ram running at 6000mhz and i was running the game at max setting in 4K and the game was dropping to 40 fps and I was like wtf is this, then I took a look at the temperature fps and so on and I saw that my gpu is only utilised 30 - 40% while my cpu is at 80% which is wired af tried to put the game in high priority couldn’t do that and idk what to do
One thing that's important is the context - I'm assuming if you only played 15 minutes that you haven't left your starting city. Unfortunately the performance you're describing is pretty normal there and not indicative of the rest of the game, and the cities are NOT where you want to be. Your first move should be getting off the ground and setting your spawn to one of the space stations. Then play the game out in the rest of the Stanton system for a while and see what you're getting.
Can't you flip through the MFD pages to see what weapons you have on your turret?
I'll have to doublecheck but I don't think so - I believe you only see the weapons associated with your seat.
its just so funny that for something that wasn't able to be finished in time it's such an underwhelming empty room.
I have a 3070 i710700 and 16 gbs of ram. The game ran fine in the last few builds. I played today in 3.24.3 for the first time and it’s unplayable. Took ages just to load in and I couldn’t toggle anything on or off in my ship…. I know 16 GBS ram isn’t optimal but it doesn’t explain why I wasn’t able to experience the game today normally the way I have been for over a year with the same setup. Mabye settings tweak? Mabye the game was running rough today?
Yeah unfortunately so much of overall performance is governed by the state of the server and the load it's under - it's very hard to predict and get reliable results.
@ I will try your settings and update :)
I had this exact experience.. same build.. played 4 months ago then got on today did all the optimizations and settings and the game looks awful and less then half the frames i was getting on 3.23
@@CitizenWeez wow unreal. I hope the game will improve because it’s not our systems….. my pc runs plenty of other demanding titles with no problems. Not sure how suddenly the game implodes like this. What frustrates me is my friends were in the server and said they were able to play normally despite still running into server lag and de sync. Not sure how I was encountering all these catastrophic bugs
Just to doublecheck with you both, you AR#E checking your frames after you've gotten out of the main city and are out playing the rest of the game, right? Trying to do some kind of frame test in the cities is incredibly inconsistent because any number of things happening can tank frames there. They've always been a mess in general.
Is this music from Pedro? He did such a good job on the audio. Bravo Pedro!
No, this is a stock track from a site I use :)
@@UniversityofStanton got ya. Has a similar feel to it.
and screen space shadow ?
I'm not certain that does anything - you can turn it off, but the menu doesn't save your setting.
I love the Aurora was my 1st ship. I upgraded it to the Legionnaire and flew that for a year or so. Fun little light fighters.
My frames did not increase at all
Interesting, what were you getting originally? Where did you test it?
Huh.... I can see why they need the extra time finishing the captain's quarters up.....🤔
I need vsync for screen tearing. So, screw me I guess...
Is using nvidia G-Sync an option? That I believe can run distinct from the game, so you can turn off the game's v-sync.
@@UniversityofStanton yes I tried every Nvidia setting. I ended up getting my FPS over 30 but there's a lot of Jitter now. I sent a support ticket I'm either going to have them help me fix it hopefully, or refund me my money.

@@Jakeandhaylee Possibly - just to check though, have you actually gotten up and out of the major cities and played the game in the open world? The cities are hands down some of the worst places to be performance-wise and not a great indicator of how the rest will play. Also what's your hardware like?

Ive tried turning off Upscailing like you suggested but that hasnt done anything, is there anything else I could try? The rest of the game looks brilliant its just the ship hud, chat box and mobiglass that look like theyre from fallout NV
@@WillCocking04 Unfortunately that's not a bug, it's a misguided aesthetic design decision. I would make a habit of making your distaste for it known in the feedback and ask the devs sections on Spectrum. They seem to be slowly getting the message that we need functional, easy-to-see UI, but it just hasn't fully sunk in yet.
@UniversityofStanton I swear it's an issue, ive seen so many people on YT with readable UI and mine is just so much worse

visibility edit: a quick 'fix' for a plummeting frame rate that i utilize is simply changing your in-game reso down and then back up. this 'fixes' bad choppiness for me in New Babbage for example, until I play for a bit and it returns (lol). 3440x1440p native curved widescreen here and my poor 3070 chugs hard at native reso after a bit, but i'm on a budget gaming laptop at the moment.
