Thank you for taking a No BS approach and only telling us what has been communicated to us so far by CIG. While I really don't like custom components being replaced, as that can affect crafting and potential duping, I'm ready for the next chapter of this game!
They said in the base building section that the tools you can use to decorate your base will also work in your ship, so you will be able to do some major interior decorating once those tools are created.
One more small nuance: the amount of money you get paid for a replacement ship is supposed to be prorated based on the wear/age of the ship, unless you have a warranty at which point you always get the a new ship (not credits)
Right, I do remember that from the presentation. I chose not to address it because what wear/age even means at this point is kind of in "imagination land" and might be based on the future of engineering, wear, and what a "destroyed" ship actually means. Since they didn't address wear as a system at all this year, it doesn't do much good to speculate - it's a bridge we'll have to cross when we come to it.

@Saf_Ibn_Sayyad_Bacon Currently it does, you don't lose ships in the current build. In the future you will need to buy insurance and find a warranty in-game for it to get it back.
@@Saf_Ibn_Sayyad_Bacon You will currently keep upgrades, yes. However there's no need to upgrade QDs right now because they're all the same speed and efficiency this patch.
I hope they do not replace upgraded components. This Will ruin the game! This is how: item duplication, if I go to a player crafter and buy all my upgraded components, guns etc. if I lose my ship due to being crashed exploded or stolen. Submit A claim. My broken or stolen ship still exist with upgraded components out there somewhere, I get a new ship back with new upgraded components that I had. Now the crafted components that I had bought earlier from the player are now duplicated, in addition I do not have to go back to buy more components from the player so he loses out on return business. In addition there are now double the components out there in a verse that he crafted. This can happen over and over and over again. So initially the one set of upgraded components that the player crafted and sold. Now there's 50 copies out there but only one set was ever made.
@@Metro2Metro I have to imagine they've considered this, but if they have they have not announced how it would work. Definitely keep this idea floating around, they should know better!

@@danielecatellani this is true, but they still consider this an alpha, in addition 1.0 has no more resets. for the meantime this is okay. For all those like myself, have a full LTI fleet. Should be giving that discount off of insurance for life. For those whose ships that they bought in the store with real money that flown their ships anyway after their insurance expired would have to pay a in-game penalty using UEC or a large time delay Would then get a ship back with stock components For those that claim there ship a lot. Nice to see CIG taking notes from IRL insurance and making their own system just as convoluted. Great fidelity. So immersive.

With this new system, I think I would have been ok with just 6 LTI ships. Prospector and Vulture is a must.
