Hi. My 2010 gets 35 so it says. When I fill up it reads I can go 420 miles but actually only 310. Is there a Reset for this issue? I’ve had battery replaced, spark plugs replaced, no codes…..doesn’t run rough, thoughts? Where are you located, I would take a drive…..

The hybrid battery doesn’t drain all the way down it has. Fail safes that keeps it from doing so my Battery has charged full many times with no problem.also I live in a southern state so if it’s hot out and I’m in my Prius my ac is gonna stay on .

Dealership told me changing the coolant in the 3 areas that need it would help the car run better. You did not mention that one.

Dealing with a 2nd gen Prius issue where the car has every light on the dash and will start and not start when it wants. The 12 v is good standing at13.3v and not sure where else to start

2009 Toyota Prius Looking for a MFD replacement?

Just bought (yesterday) a 2009 base model with 154k miles. I didn't consider the gen 3 because of the head gasket concerns. Also, why spend the extra money when the main focus if buying a used car 10+ years old, is meant to save money. If youre looking for a gen 2 car, dont worry about needing to get the touring package, the navigation (its 2025. Use your phone.), or the pleather seats. For about $50 combined you can have Bluetooth, hands free and an updated navigation system sitting on a phone holder. Save the money. Find a car that has decent miles (too low might mean battery wasnt used much . Potential issue).

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You don't think the manufacturers have already allowed for all these scenarios? Toyota for instance has been making hybrids for years. There are Prius's that are still running on the same batteries for ten years or more.

you don't have to worry about this in the 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid, or 5th generation hybrids, the system uses the lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery, this battery can be abused left and right it is actually good to get the battery to fully charge to the top this is better for it, unlike the the Prius your using has the nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery, this battery has been discontinued by Toyota because of the huge flucuation use of it does bring the lifespan down on it by constantly charging all the way up or depleting it almost all the way down.. The lithium-ion (Li-ion) how ever and many experts will tell you, you can expect this battery to last around 300,000 miles to 15 years. Also these lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries can take very high heat with out causing the swelling your talking about, and it has a very good cooking system in it.. you could leave this car out in a parking lot at a 110 Degree's for hours and it will not be a problem.. The only thing you should never do is let water spill in the back seat where the battery is, because if you spill too much Liquids it can make its way to the battery and cause corrosion in the cells and damage it, if you ever spill liquid on the back seat, rush real quick and remove the back seat where you sit and vacuum the seat well to get most of the liquid and than take a towel and dry off the damp seat or use a fan to blow dry it.. They do have a liner now under the seat incase you spill liquid in all 2025 5th generation hybrids now, which prevent liquid from getting to the battery, but that is only to a point, lets say you left a bag of ice you just bought and forgot it was in the back seat, after hours of it melting and leaking in your seat that could be enough water to get to the battery and damage it so never do that, but lets say you spill a Soda drink or water bottle, this will not be a problem, just remove the seat or you can just vacuum the seat at a carwash or your house and that will take care of the hazard. Also if you did let a bag of ice melt and get to the hybrid battery and you go sit on the seat you could be in danger of being electrocuted from the battery conduction a charge though the liquid, and that is around 40,000 volts DC which will kill you instantly.. What do you mean A/C on while the car in parked, do you mean the car is running while in park or off while in park?

Let me tell y'all something. Taking that dash apart to get to that part is not fun. I know, because I did it early in 2024. I didn't, however repair the part myself. I sent it to some guy in Dallas to do it for me. Well worth it.

@carhub I have a P0A92 code on a 12 Prius. I was repairing the 2 small coolant hoses under the inverter that go to the throttle body put everything back and now car only goes into neutral or park and throttle body is buzzing as well. Looks like I got some moisture inside the lid of the inverter. I’m assuming that coolant leak made its way into that inverter some how. Can I get your opinion on this issue and code please

maybe the kid has small hands but for me I got the bulb out with a few minutes working by feel. Getting the whole thing back together was another matter and ultimately I had to drop the bumper after not being able to reinstall the parts in such a tight space.

What a royal pain in the ass these overengineered cars are to fix. These actuators are $1200 bucks!! Im going to get rid of my prius and buy a fully restored pre 1980's classic. At least I can fix those myself without spending needless thousands everytime you turn around.

I usually flux and tin my parts leads, capacitor in this situation, and similar flux clean flux and tin the pad so with a cleaned soldering iron and maybe melting a little solder on the tip to protect the iron you can just quickly solder the leads to the pad. Great job and thanks for sharing! About to save another parts car from being cut apart then scrapped that is a nice southern body compared to my rust belt first 06.

Can you suggest any simple reason that a 2011 gen3 gas engine will not start? I've tried every suggestion in the manual and still have a p0335 code that won't let my engine start!

not all hybrid cars are the same i have own 3 ford fusion hybrids and they have a system that shows if the battery is bad or not and it will also show if there is a problem because i have own a hybrid for 5 years now and not all hybrid cars use the same battery the older fusions used a bigger battery and they are nickel-metal hydride battery they are different then any other battery if they get between full or half they will stop charging until it gets drained at almost empty thats how ford fusion hybrids are the newer ones im not sure but the older fusion hybrids are like that
