We are Troy, Linda and our havanese Desi, traveling as often as we can in our Rockwood GeoPro. We like to say we are part time full time - we travel part time but think about it full time. We discovered RV living three years ago and since then have traveled over 15,000 miles in first our Class C, Ocho and now our GeoPro, Neo. We love watching others travel on RUclips and getting ideas for our trips and RV tips. We hope to bring the same to our videos along with dog friendly travel ideas as, where we go - the Dez goes as well. We hope you will come along for the ride and look forward to seeing you out on the road!
Quick Upgrade To Our RV Steps! OceanBroad Foam Decking - Review
Todays video we are doing a quick and easy - almost no tools required - upgrade to our RV fold down steps. Our steps our made by MoRyde and are metal with anti skid tape applied. But we have found that to be a bit slippery at times and hard to clean. We saw some other campers on RUclips apply similar material and thought we would give it a try. We chose the Oceanbroad brand as it was a great price, had enough material for 4 steps (or would allow us to mess up a few times!), was the approx depth of our steps and matched the camper nicely.
We walk you through what we did to apply and after 2 months of varying weather conditions, give a review on how they have held up. We also do some anti sl...

Many of these parts are inexpensive and are quick swap outs to really keep the camper looking its bes...
Hiking the Basin Trail in Franconia Notch State Park. Littleton, NH and Littleton/Woodstock KOA.

Todays video is from our spring visit to the Northeast. We spent two nights at the Littleton/Woodstock KOA in NH just outside Franconia Notch State Park on our way to Maine. We had heard great things about the FNSP and we were excited to put it on our list. The biggest draw for the park is the Flume Gorge Trail. Unfortunately the trail takes quite a while to hike and it is not dog friendly. We ...

Removing Yellowing in Our RV Shower! Did it Last?!! New Camco Skylight Insulator

Owning a camper means always having a project! And today we are tackling a project that many older campers will need done - trying to remove the yellow in aging plastics. Cleaning Our Camper - Top to Bottom! And This Camper is Shining!
I bet it would work really well if you wore Sperry Topsiders deck shoes.😅
Ha! Probably! Thanks for the watch!
love the dog hitting the bell!
Thank you! He does love to entertain 😂
For me it wasn't the step surface that would prove problematic, but the curved portion of the step where no nonskid is. Easy win for Linda's Oscar worthy tumble.
Could definitely see that - did you have a fall as well? Definitely easy to do. And ha! Maybe next time I need to do it eating a breakfast burrito!
@@WinesPinesandCanines Yup, took a tumble heading downwards. Be sure and use a stunt burrito. They are too precious to waste.
Oh no - hope you were ok? And yes - will definitely need a stunt burrito haha. And Happy Thanksgiving!
So Fun!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!!
I bought the same product but the wider option. It took a month to get it flat with weights on it! By the time I got it flattened enough, the weather turned wet and cold. :( Thanks for the laminate roller tip! You went the "extra mile" with the stunts! LOL
Strange - ours flattened out in about an hour. Did the wider version come folded? And lol - thanks! And thanks for the watch!
@@WinesPinesandCanines It was rolled up and probably sat on the shelf for a long time.
I love the new opening!
Thanks! A fellow youtuber/geopro owner did the music for us (the gonzo book). We are working on one a bit longer. How is everything going? Camper up for the season?
@@WinesPinesandCanines The camper is winterized. However, I have dreams of doing some dry camping if the winter stays as mild as it has been. We are doing well. Many great blessings here. How about you and your family?
It definitely has been a mild one but looks like cold is on its way this next week! We are doing well. Think Desi is done with travel - he has had a rough 4 months. Still searching for a snack lol but has slowed down. He is looking forward to a snack heavy day today lol. Hope you and yours have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh my gosh! I saw this on TEMU and thought about using it on our RV. I might go ahead and do it now. I also leave my steps out when my RV is parked at the house, so it's good to know that it holds up. I think it was a great modification. I forget how much it cost. By the way, for Linda's sake, just leave the mattress outside in front of the steps all year round. 😂🤣
It is a good price point for the ease of install. We really like how it looks. And Hahahahaha! Might have to do that!
Nice looing mod. Does it stay wet for a long time? We like the looks of it but wonder if it does get wet will it stay wet. We have the exact same steps. Thanks - Take care.
One of the benefits of filming everything - time stamps on our videos lol. So that day - we filmed washing them at 1:48 and Troy was standing on it in his sock feet at 3:04 and it was dry :). So about an hour and 15 mins to dry - but might have been even sooner! Hope that helps! Thanks for the watch :).
Thank you. @@WinesPinesandCanines
I heard it 😊
Thank you so much! As I mentioned - will be giving you a shout out soon!
You guys are hilarious at the end.
I love your upgrades. Have you had a blowout. And are you worried if you encounter one with a single axle.
Thank you 😊 and thank you for the support! So we have about 20-25,000 miles on the camper and (knock on wood!) no blowouts. It is always on Troy’s mind (this is Linda) and he does the driving and is pretty experienced. But he is also diligent with tire maintenance and inflation. Checks them over each time we stop! So, it is a concern - double axle is easier in a blowout I have heard but have seen others on forums that have had them and have handled it ok. So fingers crossed!
Looks like another project I may have to try. Now I just need something to keep Cody from pulling me down the steps when I open the door... Speaking of Cody, I posted a short video of him in the Colorado River from our trip to Parker. He had only learned how to swim the day before. I thought he did pretty well: ruclips.net/video/HPsq54xgthY/видео.html
We just watched - looks like he is having some fun! And wow. He is a quick learner!! Hopefully all went well on the trip?
@@WinesPinesandCanines It was a great trip. Cody had a ball. Buckskin Mountain is probably his favorite place. The weather was perfect, too. Then we got home to snow the next morning.
Glad you both had a good time! Where you headed next?
We are purchasing a new Geo Pro 20FBS in 2 weeks. Enjoy watching you videos!
Thank you for the watches! And congrats! The new ones have some great features we wish ours did! Please let us know how it goes!
Is there a shorter shower pan option for this model? I stood in one the other day and my head touch the skylight.
Hi! There is unfortunately not. There is a panel on the front of the shower pan that is held on with screws. We have taken that off to look underneath before and the elevated pan allows for the plumbing that runs from the drain to the gray tank. There may be a way to modify (never say never lol) but have not seen anyone do it.
I will be using this to winterize. I only wish you included the name of the app.
Hi - it’s the Forest River Owners Guide. Then you can select your year and model. Hope that helps!
Wow, just happened onto this video and it's great! We travel with doggos, too!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. And yes - we love traveling with Desi as he enjoys it so much! Hope yours enjoy traveling?
Can you let me know what size screw goes in to the foot pedal on the dometic 310? I've lost the original and can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
If your toilets not right, your life’s not right…😂
Lol! Very true!
Loved this video! I’m exactly at the point where I’m putting together my needed tools for my new camper. Great tool list 👍
Glad to hear it was helpful! Hope it makes those trips a bit easier! Thanks for the watch!
There is a muppet beside you....
Ha! Yes he is a bit of a muppet!
Another great video. Added this camp ground to my “to visit” list.
Thank you and thanks for the watch! Its a great area and this park is very convenient to it all!
Looks like a nice campground and a great burrito.
Burrito made the top 5 lol!
TY so much for the video. VG
Thanks for the watch! And the support! Happy Camping out there!
I Love both..but the counter space and heated underbelly in Imagine leans me that way...however I hate sink and loveseat..would love 2 recliners but not sure how difficult that is to change.. Seems there's always something hiding under loveseats and dinettes in these small rigs. 🤭 🙄😅
It is a tough decision! We did have a viewer mention however, that the new 2025 Imagines have upgraded the sink so curious to see what they did. And yes - unfortunately both in our smaller class c and the GeoPro - recliners in place of the the jackknife sofas were a no go because of items underneath. Likely the Imagine is the same because of the size.
@WinesPinesandCanines Thank you!! 😊
To funny new cover except for me LOL truly appreciate these simple changes that go along way.
Thank you for watching - truly appreciate the support!
Great vid; love how you keep it simple yet informative. Been following you two now a three years. Your friends here in Miami, FL
Thank you for being a long term viewer - truly appreciate!! And thank you for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the video :). (and Miami has some great weather - haven't been in years but enjoyed the few times we were there!)
If you ever come this way please holler at me and can mooch dock on our property. We’re only 40 mins from Key Largo, FL.
Thank you for the very nice offer! Might take you up on that!
We didn’t like this place
Y?
Why
We are sorry to hear that. Was it busy when you visited? During the week and off season when we are typically there it is very quiet and roomy but this time we went during leaf season. Definitely a bit more crowded in the upper spots!
The hilltop has quite a few full time residents. We wished the meadow had sew hook ups, that would make it perfect for one nighters !
We were thinking that on the front hilltop sites but seems to be the norm now in many of rv parks we visit. But there were a few spots along those front ones that opened up when we were there and the hilltop, while busy, was quiet the entire week. And yes - cant remember if any of the sites have sewer in the front area but would have to use the dump station. Not sure why they don’t - it was a koa years ago and know they always have just water/electric sites so that is maybe why. Thanks for the reply!
Thanks for the video. It looks like a beautiful Rv park. I want a site nearest to the lake so I can go fishing.
Hi! It is a beautiful area! And yes - those are popular spots with the decks overlooking and would be perfect for fishing! Hope you are doing well!!
How do you change a queen mattress to a king? Can you explain please?
Hi! So we did a video about 3 years ago but the short explanation is we use a plywood that pulls out and put foam / pillows that are the height of the mattress. That allows us to sleep north / south and during the day, we push the plywood back under the mattress and pop the foam/pillows on the top. But you have to have the east / west and it has to have some space in front of it (not blocked with cabinets or dinette...). Let us know if you want to see the video and can't find it. Thanks for the watch!
Love your pup!!
Thank you! We are pretty fond of him as well haha!
Thanks for a great comparison! You did a great job. We have a 2023 16ML and quickly changed out the sink. (With the 2025 model, GD finally listened and went with a conventional sink and gooseneck faucet.). We also upgraded the toilet to a Dometic 310 and upgraded to a Maxx Aire fan in the bathroom. My wife & are short so the GD sofa actually works really well for us. I can see where many would change this to recliners. With the changes we made, this closely aligns with your Geo Pro. I agree that the Geo Pro exterior graphics are much cooler.
Thank you and thanks for the watch! Nice that they changed up the sink. In such a nice kitchen layout, the sink was a surprise. Sounds like you did many of the upgrades we would. It really is a nice camper - glad you are enjoying!
Nice work guys! Sometimes the smallest investments can have the biggest impact on value! Our rig faces south but it’s right next to the house on the east side with a 6 foot fence on the west. So most of those things don’t get much exposure. But the cap is getting baked so I’m going use to mcguires to shine up the cap. The decal over the front window is getting really faded so will probably need to take it off and decide if I want to put something else up there. Any ideas? 😊
The sun is the killer. Ours sets out pretty much full exposed. Strangely - the decals by the door were flaking a year in. The rest of the larger ones are all in good shape. But a few smaller black ones on the front cap we are probably going to replace as well. At the moment - just going to replace as is. But we have talked about doing some custom decals - maybe a mountain range. Or Desi lol. Will be curious what you come up with - the front cap is a good place to get creative!
Help. We are not getting any pressure when we flush. I pulled the valve and the screen was clean. We also used pipe cleaners in the holes around the top. They were a little dirty but not enough. We had a little improvement but still not happy. I ordered a new valve but it’s not here till December. Is there any thing else that I can check. Really liked your video. Thanks Bob
That is definitely frustrating! The valve does seem to be the part that we hear is replaced the most (at least in chat groups). Did you order off Amazon? Not sure if you ordered the Dometic one or a generic version. If it was us, might try and order one of the quicker ship versions and then keep the other as backup. You might try calling Dometic directly as well to see if they have a suggestion or if they could ship the part out quicker. Hope that helps!
@ thanks. I am going to phone around on Monday. It does still flush thank goodness
Let us know what happens - curious to see if the valve fixes it!
I took the valve off and tried to lubricant it. It improved it a little which makes me suspect it even more. Unfortunately I don’t get the new valve until Dec 11.
Hoping it gets there quicker! Let us know if it solves it.
Fellow Geo Pro owner here - was curious if you’ve seen Rigor RV Repair info on plumbing regarding a pex clamp on flexible tubing? It seems the most RV’s these days are plumbed incorrectly including our Geo’s and he is bringing the issue to light. I noticed the issue when you pulled out the pipe to replace the fixture. Love Your videos, thanks for another good one!
We have not seen that particular channel but have seen talk of the issue with using them on the flexible tubing. We have not had any leak issues (knock on wood!) but when we removed our water filter, we did use old school hose clamps on the non pex plumbing vs the pex fittings because of this. But, that particular piece of hose we have not messed with so as of yet, haven't changed it over (thinking of redoing the plumbing in that area to pex but just hasn't been a priority yet :)) And thank you for the watch!
Do you have a video of the original sink change you did in 1999? I'm curious if you needed to modify the drawer underneath to make room for a deeper sink & lower p-trap. Thanks!
Hi - unfortunately we do not. We did that mod about a year before starting the channel. But we did have to modify the drawer - basically we cut out about a 6 inch wide and 3 inch deep spot into the back of the drawer so the ptrap can come forward. If you would like to see some pictures, you can send us an email at winespinescanines@gmail.com, and we can send you a few of what it looks like. Thanks!
Looks really good. Its amazing how those items have changed over the years. Mine is a 2019 and some of those items are completely different than mine. I do need to change out my LP cover so glad you show me how to do that.
You are right - we noticed in your dewinterizing video that your water connections don’t look like ours - even though both are a 2019! We like the cover so far - but only one trip with it so hoping it holds up!
@@WinesPinesandCanines I just realized my Geo Pro is a 2020.5 model.
Ahh - that makes sense. Think they did some big changes that year.
You may want to try Cerakote ceramic wipes on the plastic parts. It does wonders in bringing back the shine and protects it
Thanks for the tip! We have 303 Protectant we are now using but will look at this product as well!
@@WinesPinesandCanines I use 303 protectant while the plastic is still in good condition. It does a great job of protecting it from fading. But once it has faded, the Cerakote wipes work great
Good to know - have the old ones still as back ups so going to give these a try!
I would think that if you would have used armor all from the start, some of this could have been avoided
Very likely. As we mention in the second half of the video - this time we will be using 303 protectant from the start. Our camper is in outside storage with that side directly in the sun all year and takes a beating. Started using 303 in the last few years but think the damage was already done.
I use Turtle wax Hybrid Solutions Graphene Acrylic Trim Restorer once a year in the spring to restore faded black. Works well if you do not want to use paint
Thanks for the tip! As we mention in the video - this time we are going to use 303 protectant from the beginning but will look at this as well. And thanks for the watch - appreciate!
Looking like new, except for the city water sticker. 😁
Hahahaha! True - if we ever get to Indiana to the Rockwood plant, will be getting all new ones!
Lookin' good guys!
Thank you!
Great video. We removed our propane bottle and battery covers this year on our 2 year old 20 BHS and to paint the front tongue. Next season will replace those covers. Most of those bolts showed signs of rust last year so they too will be replaced in the spring.
What product are you using to paint the tongue? Might do this as well over the next year. And we were lucky that only one bolt rusted - the rest were just fine. Thanks for the watch!
@@WinesPinesandCanines I removed the ; pan for the propane tanks, battery box, tongue jack then taped off the stickers. Sanded of the rust with a wire brush then used sandpaper to make the surface smooth. Primed and painted the triangle with Rustoleum to make it look almost new.
Thanks for the info and good to know it works. Was going to use the same process at some point. Our tongue jack is giving us some issues here and there so we may do it all at once!
Awesome updates !!!
Thanks for the watch! We appreciate the support :).
Where did you get the shoes? and what size?
Added the link to the description. We bought these on Amazon but have also seen them at Walmart, thrift stores... These are the toddler 7/8 size but have also seen 6/7 work for others. Thanks for the watch!
Oh my, you could have saved yourself a lot of $, time, and effort just by going to an auto parts store and picking up a bottle of Meguiar's Black Plastic restorer. It works great and a little goes a long ways! I've been using it on the black trim, mirror backs, etc... on my vehicles once a year for a long time. It makes them look brand new.
Good tip - thank you!! Will say - most of our stuff after being baked in the sun for 5 years was at the end of its life span lol. But definitely going to start using a product to maintain them from the start this time! So will look at these - we like the other Meguiar products. Hope all is well with you!
Great work! I like the shoe idea, so any source? Geo Pro FD 19 with a lot of mods.
Thanks! So we bought those off Amazon (will add a link to the description today) but also have seen them at Walmart and even Goodwill/thrift stores. They are toddler crocs - size 6/7 seem to work the best.
@@WinesPinesandCanines Thanks!
I hated the Propane Box! Regardless of your camper you should be able to access the propane box!
Yes - was never our favorite. Looks like the 2025 may have slightly different ones. Did the mini lite come with the same as the geopro?
Looking good! I may have to look into that tank cover. My original one had to go when I installed the armored battery box, but that one looks like it may fit. The only thing I've done with my water connections is to replace a couple of the rubber covers. Someone apparently thought they were tasty. Two guesses as to who that was. Be glad Desi is short. Cody and I are off to Parker, AZ tomorrow to spend a few days at the Colorado River. It's finally dropped into the 70s, so it should be a good trip. He really enjoyed it last time we were there.
Hahaha - oh Cody! Well luckily a relatively inexpensive swap out! Enjoy the trip - we are glad those high summer temps have faded into cool fall temps also!!
Nice updates! I’ll be checking out the LP tank cover when ours needs replacing.
Thanks! Out on our first trip with it and so far working out well. Thanks for the watch!
