    Great stuff as always. I appreciate the link to the new skylight insulator. . . down here in the Lower Keys the sun is a bit on the strong side. Looking forward to heading North!

      Thank you :) Appreciate the continued support! And yes - we lived in Florida many years ago - the sun can definitely be on the strong side haha. We just got back from Maine so very north but was pretty warm there for a few days as well. Especially when moochdocking with no ac!

    Great video! Wow! What an incredibly helpful video. Right down to the last tip. I learn so much every time I watch for videos! I am picking up the new camper on Thursday. This is the most exited I have been about anything since I was 10 on Christmas morning.

      Thank you! We appreciate that - and truly appreciate the support over the years. Ohhh - so exciting! Its a great model and so similar to the geopro/epros. We call them the big brother/big sister line lol! Let us know how the walkthrough goes!

    Well gosh! Guess I’ll make a trip out to the trailer and have a look at mine! Really looking forward to whatever it is you’re doing to the shower. We’ve always considered it the one area we wish had been larger or better designed.

      Working on it this weekend! More for small storage - but yes - if only we could add 10sq feet!

    That’s funny. I thought you were replacing it. You did a great job repairing, cleaning and reapplying tape to the old skylight. Love the film you bought for it. We really need to do something with our skylight. It’s really showing its age.

      Those darn skylights really take a beating with all that sun. Probably going to need to replace in a few years ourselves. How are you guys - back up north yet?

      Yes, we got here a week ago yesterday. It’s been a little chilly, but it’s suppose to warm up this weekend.

    Next time you should look into prismatic film for your skylight. It performs like what you installed, but fills your shower with rainbows when the sun hits it.
    I'm also digging your 50's instructional music vibe for this.

    I always wondered what the inside of that skylight looked like. I keep mine covered with a piece of Reflectix most of the time, especially here in the southwest.
    My trailer looks like a tornado hit it at the moment. One whole side of the interior is dismantled while I wait for parts. I think you guys made the right choice by getting one without the dinette. The whole thing is made out of spot-welded aluminum covered with particle board. 80% of the welds in mine are broken. If I'd known Baja was going to do this much damage, I might not have gone.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  6 месяцев назад

      Taking it down gives you a really good idea of what the roof area looks like lol. But it did give us a good chance to look for any water issues.
      Wow - sorry that there has been so many repairs to end such an exciting trip. We can imagine on the dinette. Assuming it is the same aluminum framing that is under the bed in our camper and yes - can't imagine it holding up to well to the roads you were describing! Hopefully that is the end of the damage.

      @@WinesPinesandCanines It's been one thing leading to another. The drawer broke loose from it's track, so I opened up the dinette to fix it, then found all the broken welds. I also found a damaged heater duct in the process. That's actually what I'm waiting on now. As soon as it arrives, I should be able to get everything put back together pretty quickly.
      By the way, did you do a video once about the window seals? Mine are pulling away in the corners. I haven't been able to locate replacements, though.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  6 месяцев назад

      The drawer guides barely hold on when driving on good roads lol. And that is exasperating - when you think you are done and it just leads to another!
      We did one on the windows but not on replacing the seals. Its the seal all around the window itself? Will be in the camper tomorrow and can take a look to see if we have come across the part before.

      @@WinesPinesandCanines Yes. It's a U-shaped foam seal that goes around the metal window frame. One piece. On mine, it's pulled away from the corners, probably due to shrinkage.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  6 месяцев назад

      Checked ours. The only foam on our windows is on the outside - not sure if the same as yours.
      I did find on dyersonline.com something called “AP Products foam seal for frameless rv windows”. Hopefully that is it!

    Very interesting. I had not considered that the sunlight may (or will) yellow the plastic. Did you make a video on that skylight cover?

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  6 месяцев назад

      We didn’t yet - a bit more detail on it will be in an upcoming video. But we really like this one. Has reflectix on one side. You swap out a few screws with the included snaps and then the straps keep it solidly in place. We had used some reflectix up there for a few years with some clips. But didn’t notice one side came down and by the end of the summer, anywhere the sun hit was yellow. And very common unfortunately in rvs. But - we were able to get the shower pretty much back to white so will have what we did in an upcoming video - and will have the skylight cover as well!
      How is everything going with you? Getting ready for camping season?

      @@WinesPinesandCanines Yeah, but now I have to wait to recover from the election. So, no planned trips in the new 2024 19FD until after Thanksgiving! I'm looking forward to that next video. Thanks, Glen

      Oh - that is a long wait! We really aren't summer campers - especially with Desi now being unable to be in the heat. Have one trip planned next month if he gets a good report but then will likely be done until fall ourselves!

    When will you finish the shower curtain? I tried washing & drying it and I shrank. Now I need to figure out what to do next.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  6 месяцев назад +1

      We had removed the original shower curtain a few months after buying the camper (about 4 years ago) as figured it would be impossible to clean!
      I had some clips from an Ikea curtain system that fit the track perfectly so I was able to ise those to hang a regular curtain. (We had the kvartal system but think it is now called vidga) it was just the little gliders with hooks that we needed.
      We have been looking for a better curtain rod but unfortunately with the tight space and all the vents on the ceiling - the original track seems to work best. We have it off to do some cleaning.
      But if you have an ikea near you or can ship them to you (the hooks are around $5) - that may work and allow you to put up a regular shower curtain!
