Fun fact, before walkie talkies, stagehands would whistle to each other to signal changes on set. Actors weren't allowed to whistle because the stagehands could pull the levers at the wrong time and could kill them. Aka, Phillip whistling on stage was him also calling his death.

How bout you guys react to In The Heights (Movie or Musical)? It's Lin's first musical and I'd argue is his best. I want to see Casper's reaction to Breathe.

Fun or Maybe Not Fact: I watched somewhere that Philip changes the melodies when they played piano on seven onwards. Then he gets shot on seven. And dies before he reaches seven.

With a show like this, I love all the characters because of what they contribute, but if I were to build a Pokémon team, I’d go with Goldilocks, Achilles, Thor, Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and Belle, with Goldilocks most likely as my ace.

Some of the best parts is in Phillips child song... when Eliza is teaching him piano. He is speaking in french 1-10 but he bashes the keyboard on 7.

As someone who heard the album before seeing the show, that scream rips your soul. I was not expecting it then it broke my heart.

Though, if you want to go through them once the characters wielding them have had some screen time, that would make a bunch of sense.

24:12 When it comes to the choice of enemies, for the red trailer, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was simply the concept of, “What if Red Riding Hood was the Hunter?” For the white trailer, it lends itself to being more about the character, especially with the song, and the black trailer has a bit more to do with world building, as we see what at least two residents of this world have to do to get by.

Yess, Encanto is such a beautiful movie.. not only the songs but everything the candle and the "powers" of the family members and the cracks stand for.. the symbolism is soo beautiful.

Not so fun fact: Angelica Hamilton, the second eldest child of Alexander and Eliza, who was just two years younger than Philip and only 17 when he died, suffered a catastrophic mental breakdown after she found out the news of her brother's death, one from which she never recovered. For the rest of her life, she lived in what was described as an "eternal childhood," unable to care for herself. She consistently spoke of Philip as if he were still alive, a belief she maintained until her passing, and often failed to recognize her family members, including her own parents and siblings. Her mother took care of her until Eliza became too old to do so, eventually being placed in the care of Dr. MacDonald of Flushing, Queens, where she would then remain for the rest of her life. She passed away in 1857 at the age of 72.

Stay alive always takes me out, Phillipa Soo acting as Eliza in that scene made me cry, especially that scream 💔 It’s Quiet Uptown turned me into a puddle on the floor 😭

heres some color theory: - jefferson wears a *purple* coat (associated with royalty because purple was a color hard to obtain back then) - hamilton wears a *green* coat (often associated with money and envy) and one of jefferson's line to hamilton was: *"smells like new money, dresses like fake royalty"*

One fun fact that I think is sad to note that I noticed: In the reprise, Phillip tells Eliza “I’m so sorry for forgetting what you taught me”, and I think that it ties back into Take a Break when Eliza is teaching Phillip to count. George shot Phillip on count 7, and Phillip thought that he counted wrong. He’s apologizing to Eliza because he thinks it’s his fault that he was shot, that he counted wrong. But he didn’t.😭😭

I've heard that scream so many times, and I've never made it without crying as a result. It physically hurts in my chest every single time. Also, I've seen a few other Elizas do the scream live and Philippa Soo's still hits the hardest. I usually skip these 3 songs when I'm listening to the soundtrack, it's just too much. So good though

For the color theory, what I’ve heard is, Jefferson is in purple because they were basing it off of Prince (since that is kind of Jeffersons singing style) and they put Hamilton in green to represent him being the lead treasurer and in charge of the money…I’m not sure if that’s accurate but that’s just what I’ve heard!

It's the scream.... I don't know how many times I've seen this scene but the scream makes me sob every single time.

so the george/philip duel didn't exactly happen like that irl. George still shot philip, but it was after the countdown. they counted to ten, kinda stood there awkwardly for a few seconds, then George shot him.

I don’t know if anyone’s said this, but Hamilton’s line “you did everything just right” is so gut wrenching because it’s the same melody as Washington’s “I make every mistake” I History has it’s Eye on You. Washington made all the mistakes and still lived. Philip did every right and died. It’s so tragic!!!!

This was so fun to listen to! Favorite character is soo hard! There are so many great characters, and for so many different reasons. I think The Scarecrow, The Wizard, Pinocchio, and Hecate are still some of my all time favorites.

The green clothes were meant to just represent money as he built the money system, the dark blue/black was just to show that he was sad/grieving
