Another mammogram and ultra sound confirmed i had cancer. One year later same thing on my left breast this time. Currently waiting results from mammogram and ultra sound.

I had mine yesterday! And I wanted to share some extra tips that worked for me. Firstly, I have an anxiety disorder to begin with and I have mild to moderate claustrophobia. What helped me most was asking to see the MRI machine and see my surroundings a few days before my exam. Don't be afraid to ask. I had told them I was extremely nervous and have claustrophobia. Any good doctor would be more than obliging of this. It helped me to not be so afraid of the upcoming test as I was able to familiarize myself to the space. I also requested that I position my head sideways ( this helps me to breathe better) I had attempted a previous MRI at a different clinic and they were adamant that I keep my head face down the entire time. This was one of the reasons that I "aborted ship" and stopped the exam not even a few minutes into it. Upon my request for yesterday's MRI, they were more than ok with me placing my head sideways. I can't begin to tell you how much this helps! I didn't feel as confined and suffocated and I was able to breathe much more freely. In addition, I searched out an MRI machine that would allow for my feet to go in first. This is so helpful! Make sure you research if you go head first or feet first because the feelings of claustrophobia and anxiety are almost non-existent when you go in feet first. The previous exam that I bailed on a few minutes in moved me inside the tube face first and face down. It was extremely unpleasant, to say the least. I knew there had to be some type of solution otherwise I wasn't going to be able to ever complete the MRI ( anesthesia was not an option for me) Most importantly, don't be afraid to share all of your worries and concerns. They are there to help and want you to feel comfortable. You guys can do it! If I did it with all of my anxiety, you can too! And I tell you that it went smoothly and not as bad as I thought. I was so proud of myself last night when I got home. Sending lots of love and positive energy to everyone gearing up for their MRI. You got this!! You are capable of accomplishing anything you set your mind to :)

Hi there, thanks for your story. i live in the uk and was told that i need radiotherapy after i had a mastectomy and left breast reconstruction back in sept this year. I had DCIS which non cancerous thank goodness, but because the lump was so big they didn't have enough clear margins. my biggest worry is that its my left breast and obviously the heart and lungs are just behind, like u said my husband comes to all my appointments and he is an engineer so the surgeon didn't say the side effects on the heart and lungs but he did. r u at all worried about this, i know from reading is to hold yr breath but i am really worried?

My heartfelt appreciation ❤️ for sharing your journey on Tamoxifen. I found it very helpful an inspirational as Im trying to adapt to the changes tamoxifen is having on me. Im just heading into surgery next week for a mastecomy on my left breast with lymph node involvement. About 3 years ago I had a thyroidectomy stage 2 cancer. I had no idea how critical the thyroid is to fncionin on a day to day basis. My struggle is having levothyroxine everyday for the rest of my life. I have to be kept in a suppressed hypothyroid state so the cancer doesn't come back. Apparently to get another type of unrelated cancer was very unfortunate 😂 of course the story of my life 😂😂 I live in New Zealand What I did discover to help with the horrendous affects of levothyroxine Was lions mane mushroom supplements to clear the brain fog along with cordyceps mushrooms for energy. That helped immensely. Ive stopped all supplements until after breast surgery and while my body is trying to adapt to the tamoxifen. Anyway a whole new adventure now underway. Love hearing your stories 💕

Just finished proton radiation (16 rounds) after lumpectomy on my left breast. The radiation process itself was uneventful, even the last treatment. My breast looked like it had a mild sunburn. However, a few days after my last treatment, my breast was almost crimson red, itchy, angry, sore and blistering. It was awful. I was using prescription SSD cream but stopped after I remembered I am allergic to sulfites. I guess it applies to creams as well. I switched to using bacitracin ointment (generic Neosporin) and aloe vera gel and within 24 hours I felt some relief. Ibuprofen helped too. The skin peeled and it actually looks really good now, like really radiant (no pun intended) but ugh, what a miserable week. Oh, and if you are about to go through this, take pictures to monitor and compare the process. If you have an iPhone, there is an option to hide the photos, incase you have nosy kids like I do who like browser through your photos.

I wish I had watched this before my MRI Breast scan yesterday. 😢 I was totally unprepared and didnt know i would feel claustrophobic and panic. I squeezed the ball and aborted the mission. I wish they had prepared me better for it with a video like this. I'm a sensitive person, this would have helped. Next time (if I decide to go thru with it) I will ask for a sedative first. This was an elective test due to my dense breasts and family history. I felt super disappointed in myself that i couldnt hang in there and tough it out, but im working on loving myself thru these feelings. Im a sensitive human and this was a lot to go into without adequate preparation. Thank you for this calming, soothing, helpful video ❤

    • @sasha6716

Hi Julie, the same thing happened to me a week ago. Did you go inside the machine head first? That's what happended to me and I too, aborted ship. I also felt so crappy about myself like I had failed but guess what? Yesterday I did another one at a different clinic! I asked them if they had a machine that went in feet first and was a little wider. They did and they let me come to see the machine. This helped ease my anxiety. I had the appointment yesterday and couldn't believe how much easier it was to be inside! I also asked them if I could keep my head turned sideways and they were fine with that. This helped me to feel less suffocated as I had felt with the face down method. I hope you can try again and I'm rooting for you. You can do it! Be open and honest about your fears with the doctor and ask for whatever will help you feel most comfortable. You can find another place to try :) I also didn't need to use a sedative because the feet first and head sideways was soooo much less anxiety inducing.

I too have health anxiety since childhood... And you are right health anxiety just takes over your life ... I do have breast tenderness randomly like around my cycle... And my fear of getting cancer makes me panic alot ... I do castor oil massage... I gives me relief... I don't find enough courage to go hospital and get it tested... As it can be just cyclic breast pain... Or fibrocytstic breat ... Or anything... Think positive... Healthy anxiety makes us go through all diseases in our heads... Unfortunately... But it bring us closer to Almighty...make a lot of prayers and relax yourself... Hope it will be all fine

Thank you. I didn't get a port because I only needed four infusions. The third one didn't go well with 4 tries needed. I will follow all your recommendations for the last one and for the blood draw the before.

You’re not supposed to bleach or color your hair before surgery when you have cancer

Hi Chelsey, in 2019-2021 I had breastcancer stage 3 and, apart from chemo, radiation and surgery, have been on anti hormone therapy for 2 years. They were the worst years of my life. I had terrible muscle and bone ache, my digestion stopped, I was constipated, had nausea, acid reflux, head ache, could not think, and was horribly depressed . I kept on falling and walked around with black eyes because of falling and bumping into things myself, because I hardly could look out of my eyes. Stopped after 2 hellish years and now I have my life back! Infuriating how this is apparently the best that modern doctors can do for breast cancer patients! Turning them into zombies, whouhaha!!!

Hi Chelsey, I just had my ultrasound on Monday, and ultrasound guided core needle biopsy less than 24 hours later. It’s Thursday and I’m waiting for my results; it’s absolute agony. This video really helped me describe the process to others, thank you so much.

I am just over 2 weeks post op exchange and I know that feeling of relief when you wake up! No pain! I jumped out of that hospital bed so fast and got dressed to leave. The "iron bra" feeling is gone. It does feel " so good". The implants are so soft, compared to the implants. I keep cupping my new breasts and I'm so happy they are soft. I have some feeling around my breasts, just not the across the incisions.

I know this video is older, but just as a FYI. There have been some studies linking tattoos with an increased risk of lymphoma. No one knows any details yet, such as if the size of tattoo matters or the tyoe of ink used. Probably the little ones you have are insignificant. However, it sounds like some centers use stickers, so that would be a better option.

Hate when doctors dont't want to do further investigstion, I guess they want more money to care, the inssurance it's not enough 😬
