  • The process to remove my breast cancer consisted of 2, possibly 3 surgeries. This video shares the timing of my first 2 surgeries and my thoughts on when I'd have my revision surgery - third surgery - if I were to do it all again. I hope this helps in your decision making process in some way.
Please keep in mind that your experience may not be exactly the same as mine, but I do hope this helps give you some points to ponder from someone who's been through it.
SUBSCRIBE🌷 to come along as I continue to share more about my cancer journey and life as a survivor with the purpose of supporting you, creating a space where we all feel less alone, AND showing there is life after cancer💕

Chelsey, good to hear that you are five years out. You look great. I pray for you nightly by name and for all the cancer warriors as a whole. I often wish you were in the US bc based on what you have said I'm assuming some of your scheduling struggles are due to your location in Canada. However, I'm sure Canada is home and you have friends and family near. Take care and know that you are loved and prayed for. You are helping other women like you and thats a tremendous gift you are giving even to me. ❤

I'm really happy to see you're still with us as I first watched your video 3 years ago where you said you had 5 cm cancer and pains in the breast which is a very bad sign of advanced cancer and not a very good prognosis for life...Would you please share which stage is the cancer and did you have metastasis in the lymph nodes?

I am stage 3 , my lump was 6cm x7cmx6cm and after mastectomy (and bad plastic surgeon who did not place expanders) they took out the lump that was remaining after chemo which was only 1mm (size as the tip of a pen) and 13lymph nodes which none showed any sign of desease! I was really wondering what size implant you got? I am seeing a new plastic surgeon now which a little too late since they had too fast track all my treatment do to the fact it was triple neg and progressing fast and I’m BRCA2 as well. But I’m going to do the hybrid surgery which is the diep flap and implant together since I’m small abs don’t have enough tissue for a full diep my surgeon thinks this is the better option. I would like to be a 34C but I don’t know if I should do a tissue expander or if I should just let her take skin from my abdomen and attach it to my breast so I won’t have to do an extra surgery for the tissue expander.. idk just wondering anyone else’s experiences! Thank you for your courage and information!

Omg biggest hug on the comment about not being able to hold your son after. That was the hardest part for me going into my double mastectomy… how would I handle not being to be so hands on with my kids? How would they handle it? I cried putting my 18 month old to bed the night before because what if she wanted her mom? What if by the time I recovered she didn’t want to snuggle anymore? That was so hard…

Omg my heart is breaking thinking of your experience and situation you were in. I hope all went well and you recovered quickly to get back to being the hands on mom you want to be🌷. Thank you for connecting and making me feel understood. Much love to you and your family💕💕

I am interested in learning more about revision surgery. Do you have any resources I can use? I have finished my expander exchange 3 months ago. I can live with how things are, yet I don't feel the result I received is what I expected. Never having gone through this I'm not sure what is and is not a good result to c9mpare with. Certainly when speaking to my surgeon he feels all is good.

Truly, I was, and am in the same boat with not being sure what is an expected good result. In my case, my surgeon also feels there is room for improvement which resonates with where I'm at too. Unfortunately I don't have any revision resources to share with you. I'm sorry I can't be of more help in this area as I'm still living it as well. I'd say if you think there is room for improvement for you to feel better... find someone who is open to hearing what thunk and working with you. Sending much love🌷

I'm going on now 13 months with expanders. Another 5 months of treatment.
Do I put myself through more surgery? I'm considering going flat.
    Thoughts anyone?
