Short videos of our adventures on Crete, Greece. Especially around the Chania area. If we do travel we will try and add a short video of the locations we go to.
Sirikari Gorge, Western Crete, Greece
Easy beautiful gorge in western Crete. We did this hike with the hiking club of Chania. It took about an hour and twenty minutes to get to the start of the gorge from Chania and went through some tiny old mountain villages. It took about 2 and half hours and that included a stop for lunch in the shade. I thought the name of the gorge was Polyrinna Gorge but that is the village that the gorge ends. There is the ancient acropolis at the top of the village if you have the energy.

Natasha treated me to an amazing adventure of Parasailing in Platanias. We had been to the beach there the week before and we saw people doing it so we came back the next weekend. Perfect day for flying, so beautiful.

One of the prettiest short hikes in Western Crete in a lush green gorge with a nice stream running through. The village has nice traditional taverna with great food or you can bring a picnic lunch. August 26th people make a pilgramage to the Church where the prayers to the Saint Fanourios helps people find their way and to find things that have been lost and not just material things. Natasha and Nina started early and took most of the day to walk 20 kilometers with a couple nice stops along the way.

Out exploring in the hills of Crete near the village of Mahari. There is a hike near there that we tried to find another day and we couldn't find the trail. This time we just headed up a canyon and enjoyed the fresh air and cool water in the stream. This small village is cute and they have a small place to get a few things to eat and drink and there is a beautiful hotel there also.

If you are into Geology then this place would be cool to stop at on the way to another of your Crete vacation destinations. It is fun to climb around on and very non touristy so you will probably be alone or very few people. Have fun.

We started out at Anidri Beach which is about 4 kilometers west of Paleochoro. The begining of the trail starts on the west end of the beach. The trail is easy to follow and we just hiked along the trail for a couple hours in one direction and then turned back the way we came and stopped for swimming.

Hi, what I remember you do not have to go in any deep water at all only to get back to the waterfalls but you can go around the falls if you want

It’s a very easy walk. There are 2 paths: going left puts you above the falls and is a very nice thing to see. Going to the right takes you to what you see here. It takes… 20 minutes? It is only slightly difficult going back up from here as it is steep but not dangerous. Just hard work on the legs. I saw lots of kids doing this hike. I have no idea why the narrator claims that it is a difficult hike. I did this kind of stuff when I was 6 years old. The water is REALLY cold though.

Looks amazing! We’re planning on visiting Crete this month, can you please tell us exactly where you started the hike from as there’s very limited information out there on how to find the waterfalls. Also, how long did the hike take? Thank you so much ☺️
On the side of the road there will be many cars parked near where you can take the stairs down or you can drive about 500 meters and park and there is a dirt road that you can walk down to the river and then you just have to hike up stream. It takes about one hour from the car to the waterfalls
