Greek Easter Burning Judas in big fire with fireworks in the Village of Sternes, Crete, Greece 2023

Greek Easter tradition to burn Judas and thats what they did in the village of Sternes on the Akroteri, near Chania, Crete. This happens in many villages across Greece. After the holy flame came and was spread to all the people then Judas was released on a cable and slid down the line until he was hanging above the giant stack of branches that probably took multiple days to stack. You will see this amazing tradition. It felt like a war zone with all the fireworks, fire and so many people throwing firecrackers. Need some ear protection next time.
