- The miracle of fire, a gift from the Risen Christ, announced once again this year the Orthodox Easter. In the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, crowded with pilgrims, last Saturday the Greek Patriarch Theophilus III presided over the evocative rite of the Saturday of light: the prodigious lighting of a candle in the Tomb, a physical sign of the Resurrection.

Why doesn’t the pope come to Jerusalem on Orthodox Pasqua Easter and along with the patriarch of the holy city and the other bishops, ask God to ignite the holy light or fire. Like saint Peter did with the apostles...🕯☦️☘️

Yes, is true! Catholics tried hundred of years ago and they returned the church to the Orthodox church.
Well basically the greek patriarch goes into the empty tomb where Jesus was buried. Muslim and Jew police make sure that there is no fire source inside the tomb and secures it. Then the greek patriarch prays to God and the candles light up. The fire won't burn you for 30 mins

Its a ceremony taking place in the tomb of Jesus.Happening every Great Saturday to signify the victory of Jesus over both spiritual and physical death.The bishop gets in lights a flame and blesses it with a special prayer.Many people believe its not the priest but the fire lights itself a miracle happening every Holy Week although priests who are taking part in the process say its not a miracle although it has been reported in the past in historical records that the flame indeed was ignited by itself sometimes
Orthodox Easter the Greek Patriarch of Jerusalem goes into the Tomb of Christ and uncreated holy fire is lighting up the candles. There are videos with a blue angel been there and leaving to the sky after the lighting of the candles on the stone.

It makes all the sense in the world. How has Orthodoxy been able to fend off the modernist and ecumenical excesses (i.e. "clown Masses", Pachamama, etc, etc,) of Rome, without an all-powerful Pope?
