Will it Run? 1978 Chevy Malibu sitting for 23 years!
This is one of the cleanest, original, survivor Chevy Malibu’s I’ve ever seen! We’re calling it the “grandma special”! It was parked in 2002, but it’s got a bunch of new parts on it, so let’s see if we can get it back on the road. #automobile #chevrolet #willitrun #mechanic

Forgotten 1960 Cadillac hearse! Can we get it Running and Driving in 24 hours?
Просмотров 40 тыс.14 дней назад
Had every intention of keeping this hearse around, not very many of these out there. But got an offer we couldn’t refuse, and now have only a few days before the buyer picks it up. Can we get it running in time? Buyer plans to do a complete custom restoration, so will try to keep updates on the status of the build. #automobile #diy #cadillac #mechanic

One of the cleanest 66 ford f100’s, but it has a weird knock in the engine, and instead of spending a bunch of time trying to diagnose the noise, it will save a ton of time and money to just swap in another known good engine. #ford #automobile #mechanic
Will it Run and Drive? After sitting locked up for 20 years! 1974 C10

We picked this 1974 Chevy c10 up from a local wrecking yard. Everything appeared to be stuck on it, but we got it for a great price. Follow along to see if we can breathe life back into this crusty rusty squarebody shortbed c10! #chevrolet #willitrun #mechanic #automobile
Line lock and mini spool install on 66 C10, then test burnouts!

Getting closer to finishing up the LS swapped, bagged, 1966 Chevy c10. On this episode I install a line lock kit to lock out the rear brakes, as well as a mini spool in the rearend. And after all that we topped it off by doing a few burnouts to test it all out! #restoration #diy #mechanic #automobile
Amazing results after some patina blending and fresh clear coat!

I’m definitely no pro with a paint gun, but the Ls swapped, 66 Chevy c10 looks great with a protective layer of clear coat over the patina! And we’re one step closer to finishing this build. #automobile #chevrolet #classic #truck
Will it Run? World’s rustiest 65 Ford Thunderbird!
Просмотров 7 тыс.3 месяца назад
On this episode I’m working on a 1965 Ford Thunderbird that has been sitting in the yard waiting for a rainy day. I picked this car up for free from some folks that were trying to clean up their back yard, which happened to be right by the ocean. In my opinion it is not a restorable car, but it has a complete drivetrain so I figured why not! Let’s see what we can do with it. #willitrun #automob...

12 valve ..great engine
First video of yours I've watched. I like your style man. I''ll be checking you out for sure. Thanks. Good editing.
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!
Nice car bro!! Congratulations
@@hanagharmantoceleste5787 thank you!
Love the color .love it
Thank you! I’m a big fan of the old school colors as well!
Classic 6 cylinder. Keep it .awesome. would love to own it and keep it original. Love it God bless you. U r blessed.
Thank you! Definitely would be a great one to keep, but can’t keep them all and unfortunately this one is already gone.
@@Rustwrangler Yell I guess a lot of people would love to have her.I had a 81 yrs ago.Got a 83 grand prix now.God bless you.
The smoke is a bad vacuum modulator on the transmission. One side is connected to a valve in the transmission that modulates line pressure, and the other side is connected directly to engine vacuum. If the diaphragm blows, it will burn transmission fluid continuously. Driving a car with no transmission fluid on the dipstick is a very bad idea. Try the GM dealer and see if they can use the VIN to re-key the car. Oops, you destroyed it, just got to that part of the video.
Didn’t ruin it at all, pretty much all of these key locks on these cars are available online or at parts stores.
What a awesome job. I'd pay you for a truck like that! Beautiful job & awesome surprise
Thank you! Appreciate that! We have collected a few more trucks since, and plan on building a few more.
My buddy had one just like it in HS. As hard as he tried to kill it so his dad would get him a better car, it would absolutely not die
That’s awesome, back when they built cars to last!
1973-1979 Fords have the removable tunnel. Great job on getting that old bumpside back on the road.
Thank you, if I remember correctly, the highboy had a removable tunnel, but the 2wd donor truck did not, that’s why we cut it out to receive the bolt in tunnel from the highboy body.
GM could only dream of building a car that's reliable like these were ever again!!😂😂😂😂
I doubt it's been sitting 32 years. Maybe 20ish years?
32 years according to the previous owner.
@Rustwrangler Those Rims aren't 32 years old though.
The white smoke is burning transmission fluid
Blown vacuum modulator diaphragm on the transmission.
200 or 229 V6 in that.
It was the 200
That had a very deep fan shroud on it.
That is a nice one for sure.
Yea, would have been one to keep, but unfortunately, can’t keep them all.
That’s not the original radiator fan. Even those little engines came with clutch fans
Wish this could be restored and kept original. But it seems if it is a two door someone always has a bug up their ass to put a V8 in it. Believe it or not Some people will pay serious money for a classic six cylinder car simply a two door because they are in fact a more rare car. There was a couple who searched and found a six cylinder Dodge Challenger and took it to GraveYard Cars for a serious very high dollar restoration.
A lot of people were interested in this car, my buddies phone was blowing up, but the majority of them were tire kickers and not many would commit.
I owned a '78 Grand Am, same color with a full vinyl roof. Everytime I see a '78 A-body in Seafoam Green I fall in love with it like an old girlfriend.
Watched this video. It was great.💯👍
Someone had that car running before you got it. To many new parts
Was told by the older woman that owned it, that her son/grandson was messing with it, trying to get it back on the road.
@@Rustwrangler I think somebody tried to steal it, after which the relative took the steering wheel off to replace the broken key cylinder.
Definitely a keeper 💯😉 I'd drive it every day
The plan was to keep it, but got an offer we couldn’t turn down.
It's an Engine, not a Moter, Goggle the difference...
@@stevee4636 couldn’t find it, but I did google “spellcheck”, you should try it!
WHY Bother, waste of time...
It's carried a lot of people to the grave in it's time
Yea that’s crazy to think about!
Put a turbo charger on that lil V6 and it'll scoot good.
NO this car deserves to be kept original. So sick of everyone having a bug up their ass to modify these classic cars. They need to be kept original and preserved for future generations to see just as their designers intended them to be. It is called respect.
Never laugh when the Hearst drives by. Cause you might be next to die!!!!😮😢
Thats right!
that engine i think is the BUICK 231 V6.....great motor
That is a chevy 229, also a 3.8. Dead giveaway is the distributor placement. On the Buick 231, the distributor is in the front angled toward the driver side.
@@williamsinger4124 It's a 200 ci. The 229 didn't come out till 1980.
They’re indestructible like the Chevy 4.3-litre Vortec V-6
@@thomaslord7995 I totally forgot about that baby V6 lol. I stand corrected
Is this a 60 degree or 90 degree V6?
the fan shroud is missing...its a big one
Yea that was not ideal!
Fun video :) almost looks like a child's toy car when you stand next to it because of your size which is cool, too funny when you show the steering wheel come off when driving! isn't that amazing how auto trans fluid evaporates like that over time and oh no Coor's lite? :)
To be honest I thought this car was a little bigger than that, they are really quite small. At first when we checked the trans fluid, I would not have thought it would need that much more, but once it started circulating it, it apparently barely had any in there. There was coors light present, it just happened so fast, there wasn’t much time to have any! Lol
Does the bew owner have a RUclips channel as would love to see orogress on this build.
He does not, I may ask him if there is anywhere he will be sharing the progress. Possibly on a few Cadillac Facebook pages.
@@Rustwrangler that's will be great 👍
I had one😊😊
Did you get rid of it?
The easiest will it run video. Cranked right up! 💕💯👍
Haha, it sure was, and it sure did! Was fun, but not much of a challenge on this one.
You never fail to make me lol Driving with the steering wheel off got me this time 😂 👌
Haha, I’m just glad we didn’t hit a pothole at that moment!
Favorite one of those was an ambulance. The license plate said "Infected" 👍
Haha, fitting!
Chevy's first V6, 200 cubes. Basically it was the 267 small block V8 minus 2 cylinders.
Yep, ran great, but not much power.
Is like somebody maintain it because it’s in a good shape
Yes, it was owned by an older woman, and she parked it back in 02, it was my understanding that her son or grandson may have tinkered with it and threw some of those new parts on it, but never got around to finishing it.
HEY R.W. AND COORS BUDDIE ,,, WOW!! MAX 9 YR.S AND I-DAD SAID YA!! WHAT A CAR.. NICE,, WHAT A GREAT CAR TO HAVE FUN WITH,, WE SAY CHECK SOME FUSES IF SOME THING DOESNT WORK,,.. DARN,, WE WERE WONDERING WHY OUR LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE HEATER ,WE CHECKED OVER, IT WAS THE FUSES. GREAT VIDEO....
Hey guys, yea this would be a really fun car to do a motor swap in, it would make a great sleeper. someone already bought it though.
Maliboozer!! 😂 *No alcohol was consumed during the making of this video*
HA!! GREAT!!! COORS LIGHT...
😂 absolutely none! Lol
I love her reaction (priceless!)
At least this one didn’t catch on fire. Lol!!
Lol, I was actually kind of bummed out, I really look forward to the carb fires now! 😂
Steering wheel delete kit 😂
Quick release! 😂
😂 what a road to do that on too!
Safety third 😂🤣🤣
That was my first car! Mine was a sleeper though. It could pull the front end up in 1st and 2nd! Had to be careful when grabbing 2nd !
Right on! Would make a great sleeper car!
They didn't have those spook Wheels 32 years ago
We had to bring those wheels with to pick it up. The wheels on it were shot.
Looks pretty solid. On the 4 door models, the rear windows did not roll down. That was too easy!
Super solid car, and it was definitely too easy! But still fun!
Yup, we had an 80 4 door, rear windows were solidly fixed.
My sister and brother-in-law bought a wagon in 78 and the kids hated that the rear windows did not roll down.
Is it a 6 😮?
Yes it is! 300 inline 6
@Rustwrangler those are the Koolest, I wouldn't change a thing, even leave points in Her!!!
Ghostbusters restoration?
Gentleman that bought it is doing a complete custom restoration, not ghostbusters though.
@Rustwrangler still will be nice to see the grand ol girl come back to life.
I knew a girl like that lol
Always good to have a buddy with you for adventures
It sure is! We have a lot of fun working on these old cars!
Oh man. You made me so happy to hear your gonna get rid of those hideous Marty mcFly wheels😅
Haha, yea just used them as rollers!
@Rustwrangler definitely! Lol
