Those old trucks were so simple. You could fix them with just a handful of wrenches. No bells or whistles no electronics and most of them didn't even have a radio. No air conditioning just a heater. They would with a little maintenence run and run. I had a 1968 F100 with the 390 engine with three speed and an overdrive. That truck ran so fast I was scared of it. I was 18 at the time and loved to drive fast but I was scared of it. That 390 had so much power I usually started off in second gear. Those 300 engines are cheap to rebuild. I would rebuild the bad one for a spare.
Can’t say I’ve seen one without a radio until this one. Very basic and simple! I agree with you in the 390’s the Thunderbird I did not long ago had a 390 in it and it was very peppy!
HEY R.W. THE WHOLE FAMILY WAS WATCHING, AT LUNCH GREAT VIDEO !! WE COULDNT SEE TO MUCH AT THE BEGINNING THE CAMERA WASNT CLOSE TO THE ENGINE, MY SELF AND MAX 9 YR.S ENJOYED WHILE TAKEN OUT THE OLD ENGINE , MY WIFE LEAH COULDNT STOP LOOKING AT YOUR UNDEE'S HA!! SHE LIKED THIS ENGINE REMOVE VIDEO, WE LIKED THE FORD WITH THE PAINTING ON IT IN THE BACK BIRDS MOUNTAINS ,.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!.
I used to drive a 1966 Ford Econoline Supervan as a delivery vehicle, which had a 240 with 3 on the tree. I wasn't aware the 300 was available in '66 Pickups. Did someone put a larger engine in that truck?

Truck fires right up. Amazing! Would be a good shop truck.
Might need to keep it around…..!
You made some quick work of that old six cylinder! Nice work and a good looking truck. Nice and simple.
Thank you! They really were simple back then.
I know I'm being picky, but that's an engine not a motor. But 👍 for all your work!
So using your logic a motorcycle, and a motorboat are electric? Both words are acceptable and have been since the 1850.
That horse is dead. For goodness sake stop beating on it already.
@@BRVintage - Whatever.
Love those Ford 6 cylinders. They are great. And by yourself very impressive. Thanks for sharing your skills. Happy New Year! 🎆 💯👍
Happy New Year to you as well! These old ford 6 cylinders seem to just keep on going.

Awesome job, always enjoy watching your videos! She sounds really good. 😊
Thank you! Runs like a top! And looks great as well!
Nice Job and those hoods are pretty heavy I thought, it would take about 2 of ME to remove and reinstall that alone, happy New Years! 😍
Happy new years to you as well! If my wingspan was a little shorter, I’m not so sure that pulling the hood would be as easy! Haha.
Nice job👍so much room around the engine than a new truck💪love the content 👍💪
Oh yea, it’s crazy how much room there is under the hoods of these old trucks!
you did pretty good I would have taken the rad out cause I would have hit it for sure .
😂 trust me when I say, there was a solid 50% chance that I was going to gouge the radiator as well, but thankfully it worked out.
@@Rustwrangler nice job I enjoyed watching your post

To be honest, I’m not sure if it’s the original engine. But it fit in there great and runs like a top!
I dont know why but these old Fords look good with satin paint. I 'm its prob rubbing off on everything it touches too lol
Through the last couple days, it has been getting polished and the paint actually shined up really well!
