Your poor wife is a trooper. You could see she wanted to help but was scared of what you were telling her to do. Bless her heart. One more thing, I love the long length of your videos.
This is what keeps me watching .... I'm not a diesel fan, not a 'big pickup' fan and not a dually fan. For me, it's the way you and Rick interact and work together, you both have talents that are special both individually and as a team. Having the Mrs. jump in to lend a helping hand when needed is just icing on the cake!
Big Thanks to Dave ! I also have a Machinest friend don't know what id do without his help ! The freeze plugs you were buying were for a deeper bore. NNKH had this problem on his fury and had to swedge them out as you did .. keep up the great video's
congratulations to your family on your upcoming baby, i love your channel cause it involves your family into your car and truck projects. cant wait to see your new bundle of joy
Always my favorite channel. Thanks Dave for the big assist! You blew me away when you said you do this all on your phone. Much respect! Keep'em coming.
My daily is an 87 F150. It’s the body style after that, the brick-nose. It has the 300 inline 6. Possibly the best motor Ford ever made. 4 speed manual and the first EFI 300. It might be the most dependable vehicle I’ve ever owned.
‘87 is the brick nose after that you have the O.J. And before that was my personal favorite the ‘bullnose’………but yeah a 300 (4.9) in a bricknose with a manual trans doesnt get much better for dependabilitys sake…..very bulletproof drivetains
Hey Travis - at 34.09, the car in the background is a 1951-1962 Ford Consul, manufactured in the UK. Something one doesn’t see very often here in the states.
Travis..respect to Jim..to take the hard action of selling off his collection...to many projects sometimes stymies production..as the video rolled i noted so many cool vehicles..regards to the Mrs and your Dad..have fun ..
More great content…thank you. Those Cummins engines are freight trains. I’m glad they’re as good as they are where they were stored outside. I’ve said it before….I’m envious of the rust free examples you come across. In New Hampshire that just doesn’t happen
i legit got out of work at 6.30 am and your video popped up so i watched it before anyone else's video's because i love your content i always enjoy watching you and your dad fixing cars
Hey guy's, Mick from Australia here. Love you're channel how you calmly work through things. You're dad is a real champ. When I do disk brakes I leave the old pad in there and use a C clamp on that. You should keep that truck as a tow vehicle. I would love it over here.
Thank you for the amazing content, I really enjoy the diversity of vehicles you and your father work on. I daily a 7.3 powerstroke so seeing diesel content is awesome! Thanks again man we appreciate it!
Yep, that's what I've worked out is best to use, & always handy to the job. The fact that the brake effort was so bad was most likely the front discs needed skimming to allow new pads to have a good friction surface, IMO Oil comming from exhaust on second motor could've been from any oil collected in the upper part of the engine if it had been accidently laid over after removal from the original chassis ? So in short, Travis could've run that motor for long ger
I used to work with my Dad for a while, I gained a completely different perspective about him, he is in eternity now, but those were good times. Your Dad is a stand up blue collar guy.
I've been to Arizona once and I think it hit 114f. That was crazy. I admire you folks living and working in that heat. Plus you seem like great people. Really enjoy your channel, wish you all the success in the future. Cheers from Central Alberta, Canada!
Even though the truck is relatively new by your standards, its time in the desert turned it into one of your crunchier finds. Once this rig's running right you shouldn't have any problem getting this off to a good home. This beast is meant for serious work. Thanks for posting.
I’m a big fan of your channel big big super fan. I like when you guys buy cars now you’re buying diesel motors to fix the sell. I think you should do more of that for your content for your for your show. And the old trucks too I like keep doing more thanks appreciate it say hello to your dad.
Looks like you do same as me, keep all the plastic tubs and containers to use in the shop. Drain oil, wash parts, mix stuff, etc. They work fine and are already paid for.
Travis, IHave been watching your channel for quite a while now. Think you and your father are the best. Keep it up. Enjoy all your little extras you put in. I had a new 200 350 dually diesel 6 speed. Got rid of it with 50 k in 2015
Well Travis you got a flip for sure. You can always improve or do add ons if it does not sell. That drain plug deal was really something I would have never expected either. Plus 2 extra diesel Cummins engines.Thank you for sharing ! 💯👊👍
Fantastic work, always have a great time cheering you on. Sorry I won't make it to the duct tape drags this year. I'm not surprised that the 62 Caddy sold already!
I'm not a diesel guy but I don't mind learning a little bit. You certainly taught me a few things. I used to live in Douglas and I've made that drive through Bisbee and Tombstone too many times to remember. I never tire of the scenery in Bisbee especially when the town is covered in snow!
The best way to Presto's Pistons back in is use the old brake pad that you're going to throw away anyway use that with the C-clamp to push it in a lot easier
Thats funny, it looks like a laughing dove sitting on the nest ! That will be a great towing truck with the Cummins power plant. Great content as always
Hey Travis Hey Rick remember Dawn Dish Soap for all your grimy power washing needs. I’ve been using it since I guess 1981 to clean everything under the hood. Great Video Thank You 🙏
Very interesting video Travis. I've learned a lot about diesels just watching your vids. I consider myself pretty well versed on gas motors but I've never twisted a wrench on a diesel. Thanks for the content!!!
Hey my friend next time instead of using the piece of wood to pry back the wheel cylinders just use the old brake pad and pry it back using the old brake pad. things you need to know LOL
I think your Facebook account has been hacked, hope you’re able to recover it. Love your classic machine content and your love of fixing the “old” stuff. Keep it up! Sorry for the stupid account hacker problems!
I carry a 17mm MAC wrench in the glove box just in case I have to bleed the injectors. It's a tubing wrench on one end and standard open end on the other, PERFECT for the job!
Front pads were cracked probably because rotor pistons are dragging. They were way too difficult to retract. Also, effecting acceleration. Do the whole brake system (rebuild calipers/wheel cyls, master) particularly since you plan on selling it.
Yeah. It's always better to keep whatever parts and things stocked "in house" when you see em on sale by a bunch of em. Then not only are you saving money by buying em on sale. But also saving money and time not having to use up fuel driving to get em.👍
You and your dad's awesome I love you you guys about trying to tell you what to do I'm just maybe giving you a suggestion that's all you know you guys are awesome man you know what you're doing I love watching your channel and keep up the good work Keep On Keepin On my friend
In regards to the core plug, this is excatly how we install them in both B and C Series Mechanical engines at Cummins Darlington. The plug is loose fit and then a fixture is bolted to the fan hub threads and it then passes through a pneumatic machine which shocks and seats it in place
I have a Cummins and an nv4500/205 t case that has yet to go in something. Watching your videos makes me want to put it in something bad. I just haven’t had time and when I have time off, it’s in winter when northern AZ is full of snow and mud
Back in 1986 when I around 22 years of age my boss had a new red f350 dual rear wheel truck. It was a 6.9 diesel and had a 4 speed on the floor with a granny 1st gear. He use to send me to run errands for him and I enjoyed cruising around always had a blast. One day i went around the corner inside our workplace shop and hooked the rear fiberglass fender extension on the concrete wall corner. My boss was about killed me that day. lol kids
YOU DO A GREAT JOB AND ALL ON YOUR PHONE? Sorry, damn caps lock.... I'm enjoying all your videos, just when I'm wondering where Dad is, he walks around the corner LOL! I'm also waiting for the right car to get from you, it will give me an excuse to get back to the Tuscon area, My Mom lived in Picture Rocks, my younger brother and sister went to Marana schools. I lived on the northwest side around Oracle road and Prince. My sister now lives out by Davis Monthan AFB. I just miss the desert south west. I recognize things as you drive around, Anyway, keep up the great work. You guys are another show for me to watch and interact with. Thank you

I'm here after seeing you on Pole Barn Garage! I'm glad to have found this channel! I can't get enough of old car (and truck) content!
Glad you’re here to tune in man . Yes old stuff galore here
Same here!
Big Thanks to Dave ! I also have a Machinest friend don't know what id do without his help ! The freeze plugs you were buying were for a deeper bore. NNKH had this problem on his fury and had to swedge them out as you did .. keep up the great video's
I used to know nothing about mechanics.

Thanks!

hey Dave thanks for helping our boy Travis ..
Wow...quite a debacle with that freeze plug...thanks for the help, Dave!

Yep, saw that rare British Ford.
Interesting didn’t even see it
😮😮😮yes, a consul by FORD MOTOR COMPANY UK 1.7 L straight 4
Travis..respect to Jim..to take the hard action of selling off his collection...to many projects sometimes stymies production..as the video rolled i noted so many cool vehicles..regards to the Mrs and your Dad..have fun ..
Looking right passed 🙈 the open turbo inlet . Sucking every bit of trash through the engine.
More great content…thank you. Those Cummins engines are freight trains. I’m glad they’re as good as they are where they were stored outside. I’ve said it before….I’m envious of the rust free examples you come across. In New Hampshire that just doesn’t happen
Yeah we’re spoiled out here
Travis, please a air filter in the turbo !
Absolutely
i legit got out of work at 6.30 am and your video popped up so i watched it before anyone else's video's because i love your content i always enjoy watching you and your dad fixing cars
Thank you means alot
I have learned a lot from your troubleshooting. Thanks for explaining things the way you do. That was a good catch on the voltage regulator.
Love watching you guys working on these great old cars and trucks. All the best from the UK
What a great neighbor Dave is! You're fortunate to have a talented machinist next door!

Hey Travis, instead of using a piece of wood with the c clamp to compress the calipers I just use the old brake pad. Works great.
Yep, that's what I've worked out is best to use, & always handy to the job.
The fact that the brake effort was so bad was most likely the front discs needed skimming to allow new pads to have a good friction surface, IMO

Привет Тревис, учу английский по твоим видео. уже выучил - ОУ МАЙ ГАШ.
Really liked this video as i am a diesel mechanic myself
Love your videos Travis. Haven’t had the best time in life recently and this video brought some light to me. Thank you bro.
I just use the old brake pad with the C clamp to push the pistons back into the caliper.
Great video. Keep up the hard work! Hope your channel grows. I watch a lot of the car channels and really like yours. All work and no clowning around!

Quite enjoyed this awesome job on the Ford, as soon as I saw the oil coming out the the exhaust knew the turbo was done both sound like great engines
When I push the calipers back in I use the old worn out pads with the c-clamp to push the pistons back in.
Me too.
Thanks Dave!👍
Nice work my friend = honestly = awesome i love your dad and you working together as always

Hey my friend next time instead of using the piece of wood to pry back the wheel cylinders just use the old brake pad and pry it back using the old brake pad. things you need to know LOL

I always us this large pair of Channel-lock pliers for squeezing the pistons back in their bores on the calipers. Quick and works great.
