I bought one from the auction for $650 right before the pandemic hit! Mine is a 91 with TBI and the fuel pump is in the tank! Yours is gonna clean up nice!
The premiere was awesome! These videos actually help me understand how to bring back these carburetor vehicles back to life! Very educational, entertaining, part hilarious. You guys deserve more subscribers, seriously! This channel is so underrated!
Yes, It’s Cool Back in the 80s and early 90s this was the cool way to travel with your entire family and still have the ability to pull a big trailer. The wheel arch trim yes, but the body trim no. The nice thing is, it’s basically a Square Body GMC or Chevy truck from the dashboard forward including the seats, so just about everything is still available. Hopefully you didn’t leave the old battery in the field, that wouldn’t be fun to hit.
Heck yeah they sure were cool trucks 100% agreed. Yeah lots of parts available for sure. No we clean up after we are done. Thanks for comment and support.
Love the Suburbans. I've owned two of them. The first was an '86. Bone stock with a big block 454. The second was a '99 that was decked out with the Southern Comfort conversion package and 18 inch chrome wheels with low profile tires. Both were excellent tow vehicles. I would replace the trim, make the necessary repairs, get some new tires, and give it a complete detail job inside and out (remove the seats, shampoo the carpet and seats, and detail the engine bay). It's a classic as it sits. Improve what you have, but keep it original.
Bet you miss that boat anchor 454. Seems like everyone loved those things. That's so cool had the comfort package. Thanks for sharing that. Thanks for comment and support
I'm a fan of the Suburban, Owned an '86, and I own a '94 now. Most useful, reliable vehicle I own. Keeps tools safe and dry, big enough to sleep in, and runs like a raped ape. I love the legendary 350 small block. Had to replace G80 govlock rear end recently. Not normally a fan of the steps on the side, but your 2wd (mine is 4wd) looks good, gentlemanly with them. Some fresh wheels and rubber could play off that nicely.
I absolutely LOVE these trucks. Had a 1990 and it was my pride and joy. Did well over 300k miles on it till my cuzn locked up the motor. Beautiful truck and definitely want another one. I presently drive a 2009 now. Will be a suburban lover for the rest of my life. I've seen em 4x4 and diesel. Built like a tank roomy and ride like a caddy.
That so cool brother and also sucks about your cousin locking it up. Love that your a die hard burban man. LETS GO. Thanks for the comment and support. Check out our other content.
I have six brothers and when you said we are going out ,we all jumped in the Suburban. It burned up on a camping trip. My dad parked over some dry leaves.
Very sweet deal there!! I love my old GMs especially W-bodies like GTPs and Monte Carlo SSs. This Suburban is a tank! These things can take anything and everything
Heck yeah brother I think landon would have to agree with you for sure. Lets go. I been to LA once along time ago. Thanks for the comment and support. Check out our other content
Last squarebody Gm I bought was an 86 as well from an estate sale. I bought it for $40 in 2019.....yes $40! Box was banged up a bit but rust free complete truck with a slip tank. 350 th400 with a 10 bolt grenade lock rear end, poured some fresh gas down the carb and it fired right up stayed running and drove fine, was parked for 20 years. Blew me Away! wont get a ford that'll do that like ever. I ripped the stupid gasser 350 and trans out and put it a 6.2 diesel and nv3500 manual trans, was an awesome truck.
Yeah I'm not sure landon intends on selling it. When he does the right buyer will see the value the mods added. Either way it's his to do with as he sees fit. Thanks for comment and support and the feedback.
No man I like a square body myself and I really like them old suburbans you can use them for anything make a hell of a hunting rig work truck an old square body Chevys from 73 on up to 87 we're just a phenomenal truck I drove an 81 for 20 years one hell of work truck I've owned I don't know how many of them I've lost track 67 to 72s as well
Heck yeah brother thats so freaking cool. Thank you so much for the sub. We got an even better steal at 5est today. Cant wait to see you in the chat during premiere. Thanks for comment, support and sub.
Yeah we could put bags under it to help with that if we tow. But honestly this Ole girls hard life is over. Now she's just gonna get to ride low and slow. Thanks for comment and support
AWESOME TRUCK! However it isn’t a FORD! leave it stock, reattach the moldings, and address the paint issues. This era of FORD or Chevy brings TOP DOLLAR! Great deal Landon! Is there a wrecker of some kind in the future as a shop truck? God Bless y’all! LETS GO!!!
Heck yeah it really is a super cool truck. Unfortunately we can't keep nothing stock. We are working on the duramx to make it a shop truck but a hauler would be sweet. Love the feedback and support. Thank you so much.
Definitely a keeper. These don't turn up that often especially looking this good. This is a put straight back to work or full all out resto either it a keeper and you would be foolish to ever sell
Hell, if it was a 4X4 model I'd buy it. I made a promise to myself back in the early 1990s that no matter where in the U.S. of A. I found myself hanging my assorted ball caps I would never own any vehicle lacking real 4X4 capability.
Wow,Let’s Go From Kentucky!!!What an awesome purchase. I wish my Ford truck that my fuel pump went bad on had the manual fuel pump like your Suburban has. Life would be much easier for me - For Sure,For Sure. The Suburbans were excellent mobile mechanics vehicles because of all the space for toolboxes and other things and were pretty comfortable to ride in.
@@JMRRebuilders Just to let you know; Today we had what was once Hurricane Helene to pass through Central Kentucky and although we had well over an inch of rain, The ground where it was so dry actually soaked up quite a bit of the rain that fell. As a precaution, I spent the last couple of days moving my stuff that I was working on up away from where it is subject to possibly flood away from the creek that runs through my property. Hope everyone was safe where you live at.
If would be better if the Suburban had the old 6.2 diesel engine in it. When I was a kid a friend of mine his parents had a 6.2 diesel Suburban. I always thought it was cool just to hear it as a kid.
