Just cam across your vid. Am an old mechanic myself. But in 1983 i grabbed ahold of 8000 thousand volts of electricity. Lost both my hands. Am a really outgoing dude. Enjoy watching your vid. Really like th overhead view of th carb rebuild. Like seeing yal saving an old vehicle. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for making my day. I had a 64 F100, with a 240. Back in the 80’s, I decided to soften the ride and took out two leafs in the front and two in the back. The pair of arches lowered it about 4”. Living in Mississippi, people gave me some crap about my low rider. It rode great and to this day, my favorite vehicle. No ac, power anything or a radio. My dad helped me work on it.
Leaving the hood open is an invitation to stuck engines. You and your dad have the best rescue channel because you do finish what you start and do it the right way. Wishing a great 2024 to you, your families and everyone here.
Hello! Thanks for the Vid we are enjoying! Suggestion: instead of WD40 we recommend ATF with Acetone 50/50 blend in the plug holes as well as down the carb throat. WD40 isn’t a penetrant and it’s designed to displace water. You may get better results with the ATF/Acetone combo. Just a suggestion ❤
That was amazing.... That's "MY DREAM TRUCK"! I could not believe what I just saw you accomplish. My dad and I went fishing in that same truck my whole childhood, not with that size engine of course... "You have no idea what I would give to have that moment in time once more"! THANK YOU! Not many videos hit home like this one did ❤️! 👍👍👍
It's amazing. With a little TLC this truck could have been kept on the road, but left for dead. It's fascinating how you and your Dad got this going again. Nice save.
I go through that much anti-sieze about every 10 yrs, but I live in the super salty North, so I put it on everything, liberally. Had to remove the bumper on my truck this year. Was expecting a fight, but forgot I had taken it off a few years ago and so it was coppered up. Came right apart. Best stuff ever.
Love these old F100's unibody trucks! They are just the perfect size for any homeowner and part-time tow use. Next episode should be very interesting. I'm Michael and Dad won't disappoint!
You guys have a lot of courage, one look at that truck in the woods and I would have run away as fast as I could. You guys saved another vehicle from a sure death!
This unibody F100 is fairly rare nowadays. All this truck needs are a new fuel tank, brakes, cleanup of the interior and the engine bay, a new exhaust and that's a good start to restore to this truck. Maybe in the future, a model correct tailgate, maybe an engine overhaul and if you like, a full repaint might be a phase 2 for the restoration. In any case, nice start! Happy Holidays to you and your family man!
When that first fired up i thought "Uhoh" but it ended up sounding sweet as a nut. Can't knock an old Ford :) All the best for 2024 from across the pond!
I am impressed! Of all the channels I watch, you all were the only ones smart enough to clean the carb and most importantly CHOKED IT! I get so frustrated watching the other guys try and try to start old worn out, cold engines with no choke.. thanks!
Great job. One of the best videos you have made. You did the right thing changing the oil before you even tried to start it. You can't run them with the oil pan full of sludge and rust particles and then be surprised when they start knocking on your first drive like Mortske does.
-- Excellent observation... my criticism with the drivetrain would be that he didn't drop the pan on the automatic transmission. While the fluid was so low that it wouldn't engage (or barely started to after the motor fired up), it's not uncommon to find water has condensed inside the case. This obviously is bad. Dropping the pan not only eliminates having any water in the system, it gives you a chance to see what's in the bottom of the pan which gives you a good idea as to the condition of the transmission itself. The idea is that it's better to be safe than sorry and end up with a pink milkshake for fluid and a non-functional transmission. I would also having pulled both valve covers by default to look for debris and to examine the rockers. It's just a smart thing to do when dealing with a vehicle such as this truck that sat around for a lengthy period of time in less-than-ideal conditions. Best wishes! - Max Giganteum
Resurrected! Nice job! I grew up on the old Fords 'cause of my Dad 289s 302s 351s 390s and so on. But one I never hear anyone talk about is the 352 Ford V8.
A high school buddy had a 61 unibody f100 painted red and white, beautiful truck it was. Great memories of hitting the A&W on the weekends. Good Times 😊
A very cool truck !! It looked like the glass is still good as well, that would be really rare ! Hope to see more of this for sure, that truck still has miles of smiles to give !!
Merry Christmas. I own a 1961 uni-body that my dad owned. I hope to get it back together before old age, the better of me. Love the old Car's and truck's . Hate all the new junk that costs what a mansion did a few years ago. All the best from Upper east Tennessee.
Just catching up on this Restore job. When I was a kid, I had a 302 in mercury cougar, and I was researching how to give it some more power and I understand you can put 351W heads on them but you need special bolts to do it with. Love for you to see if you to do that on something. 😁
Excellent episode boys. I sure loved to hear that V8 engine run so good, and it's real nice to see that pickup out of the woods. If the truck could talk it would thank you for living again ! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your dad ! Steve from Montreal, Canada.
I’ve picked up 3 of those this year. And have my eye on another one. Cool old trucks for sure. I’ve owned a dozen or more of them. If you need anything just let me know I’m just down the road
Brill !! Really like seeing these great old vehicles being rescued and bought back to life. Looking forward to the next installment. See ya next year 👍
Watching you rebuilding that carburetor reminded me of rebuilding the original Motorcraft 2V on my 69 Torino Squire when I was younger than you are now, then replacing the distributors on both of my Mazda pickups, then upgrading the throttle body on my 90 Dodge Dakota in 1993. Now I'm in my early 60s watching you and your dad doing the car stuff I have memories of. Thanks to y'all for this Christmas gift and a Merry Christmas to you and your entire family. Danny Ventura, Tampa, Florida
When you said it sat with the hood open I thought that oil pan would be full of water, nope, runs like the day it came off the assembly line. I know it's your truck and channel but that truck deserves a complete restoration. Keep up the great work and the awesome content 👍✌️🇺🇲
That old jagged edged radiator frame had me praying please don't slip trying to turn that crank bolt, don't let loose. Impaling one's self on old rusted out steel not good, safety important please. I really enjoy this RUclips channel, Thanks 4 sharing. Merry Christmas to you all.
Another great find! How about a shop tour? What cars do you have in the collection - what is planned for the cars (keep restoring, keeping, selling)? Especially my favourite the Volvo 145
Wow! That truck is solid and seems to have all the glass intact! Other than the interior, and brakes. The only question mark now is the clutch and gearbox. Great save gentlemen.
I love how you guys just get after it and do what’s required to guarantee a reliable vehicle. No messing around doing the bare minimum, repeating unnecessary steps.
Beautiful shape truck really like this one, oh and guys buy a yankem tow rope pretty much unbreakable and gives amazing sprung tow pulling for stuck vehicles
What are awesome video guys for Christmas that truck runs like a top you are a wizard at them carburetors man that thing runs like a top Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your family and keep them videos coming
I have no idea how you found this one, but wow what a great find! Would’ve loved to have seen more of the abandoned cabin, is it for rent? 😂 Looking forward to what y’all got in store for this ol’ gal, I think it would be worth doing a full restoration, body work, paint and all! Congratulations on a great job getting her running! 💛
Way to go GUYS !!!! It's a Blast watching you two rescue and revive these vintage vehicles !!! Keep up the fun work and HAPPY NEW YEAR To YOU AND YOUR FAMALYS !!!
Awesome video, man! What an old sweetheart of a truck! Would love to see the cab get vacuumed out, a pressure wash, and get the brakes working. Then it would be a sweet ride.
Maybe try acetone and trans fluid instead of wd40, clean and lube as well as eat rust. Very neat truck, good score! Clean that up, it's worth some cash!Merry Christmas!!
Man. nice my dad had a 62 unibody long bed with a 292 three on the tree. that's how I learned to drive out in the desert, we live in Arizona, fun fun fun !
Nice job on getting it up and running again, have to say I could smell that from up here in Canada LOL, can’t wait for the clean up video and of course rebuilding of the brakes, and for a truck that was becoming one with nature and parked for as long as it was it’s in remarkably good shape, get it all fixed up and it would make a great little parts fetching rig.
Wonderful. I have always wanted an old US pickup. They are crazy expensive here in New Zealand. Great work guys. The channel is REALLY GOOD. I love the videos. BRAVO FELLAS. Happy New Year. All the very best for 2024 and beyond.
The custom requirements are pretty expensive. Sold an old caterpillar tractor to a guy in Australia. He had to have it sent to a guy to basically tear it apart to make sure there was no bugs, dirt, etc.
You are braver than most other YT channels and not just on the projects you take on. Wearing shorts into a tick infested woods probably requires a warning label on the content! Unibodies are the "bubble tops" of the F-100 world and need to be saved.
New sub! I like your style and personalities! I try out new channels regularly, and it comes down to the charm, wit, and ability to SPEAK FLUENTLY and ENTERTAIN, that makes all the difference. Some guys mumble, some talk too slow or say "uh" too much. Some got all the personality and charisma of a garden slug. But not you!
A uncle had one of those in the early 70s an I thought it was pretty neat. Really surprised ford didn't build more of them. What a neat looking pickup 🛻. Thanks 👍 for sharing.
-- You must not know the history of the unibody! Ford stopped building them due to the serious cracking issues in the sheet metal at the cab and near the cab on the bed sides. The frames and bodies simply flexed too much thus the cracks would appear. No, it didn't occur in every truck but for those that used their trucks to haul loads, it was common. It was also common with trucks that went over rough terrain. It was actually somewhat of a PR disaster for Ford back in the day... not long after the disaster that was the Edsel. Interestingly, the Edsel was a relatively sound automobile excepting for those that had the infamous push button shifting at the column. The problem with the Edsel was that most folks just didn't like the styling and preferred other models thus it didn't sell. Ford got hammered with a massive loss on the Edsel line. A common school of thought is that if Ford hadn't seriously made out financially with the war effort in WW II, they would have been in serious trouble due to the losses. Of course, the counterpoint to that is that if Ford didn't have the money, they wouldn't have invested what they did into the Edsel so... who knows. Peace & good vibes! - Max Giganteum
I had a 61 Unbody a few years back was a 223 CI 6 with a compound Low 4 Speed and mine had the right tail gate witch is hard to find, love the video great work sir.
Ok, I am really impressed. The way that engine looked, well, I never thought this one would run. I know that this one is going to be a fun build. Thanks for sharing this.
I had a 65 short bed ford pickup! Her name was Blossom. I loved that truck! ❤ i had a 64 ford futura 2 door Falcon. Her name was Alice! ❤ My brother had a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang 351 Cleveland. He would let me barrow it on the weekends sometime. I would always clean it out, wash it Detail it & bring it home with full tank of gas. That way I got to barrow it a lot. That wss a really fast & fun car! ❤
Wow, Michael, this is a great looking/sounding truck! I am really glad you and your Dad are able to bring this old truck back to life. What's the plans on the 1954 Plymouth. I have been wondering what has been going on with that car?
This video has just made my day. I'm home alone sick as a dog, x-mas day, and here comes a Budget Buildz video to cheer me up! Thank you!
Get Well soon . Sending you some positive vibes from Ireland 🇮🇪 😊
me too, definitely made my day better!
Me too bud. Me too.
Merry Christmas!
Ditto.
Hearing your dad laugh behind the camera when you test drive these things is such a treat! 🤗
His laughing was well timed with my laughing too.
Yeah, he is not really that shy anymore.
Love dads chuckles
😁😁 I’m sure glad he gets as much as a kick out of this as I do!

What a cool little truck! And I love a 351w. Please fix this one up!

What a great Rescue! That truck would look great at a car show as is!
That old Ford is gonna be a beast! That 351 sounds great looks like a positive traction rear too!

A very cool truck !! It looked like the glass is still good as well, that would be really rare ! Hope to see more of this for sure, that truck still has miles of smiles to give !!
The cap set up would suggest it might be an industrial or marine engine distributor
It’s deserve a full restoration and a full repaint smart little truck. Very cool love the show Richard from England

Wow! That truck is solid and seems to have all the glass intact! Other than the interior, and brakes. The only question mark now is the clutch and gearbox. Great save gentlemen.
Good job. Great patina. I would give it a fresh paint job.
I love how you guys just get after it and do what’s required to guarantee a reliable vehicle. No messing around doing the bare minimum, repeating unnecessary steps.
I’d say this thing is a perfect candidate for a comet wash inside and out and some poppy’s patina!!! Preserve that look!

Merry Christmas and all the happiness in everything you do. This was a great revival and can wait for the future installments.

That brings back memories My Dad used to have one like that God bless and stay safe
I like old trucks, sad that some one would abandone this one in the woods good job rescuing it ! 😀👍
Glad you rescued this one when did before vandals destroyed it......Seriously how much in scrap metal is half a radiator worth. Keep up the good work
Man. nice my dad had a 62 unibody long bed with a 292 three on the tree. that's how I learned to drive out in the desert, we live in Arizona, fun fun fun !
I am so glad to see that radiator out!!!
That’s a kool looking truck! I like the body style. Be a great one to fix up. Great video
WOW!! You guys are just amazing! I'm glad I'm subscribed to your channel - Thanks again!
Cool truck hope you show us the clean up inside and out and see what she looks like. Good job guys . Thank you
Enjoyed this video I love to see old machines be saved thank you.
great video don't see many of those older fords running around anymore thanks for sharing
That was fantastic, you were tearing it up!! have a great Christmas, look forward to the next one
Great find! Very desirable truck! Great Patina. That truck would look great with the right set of tires and rims.

Brotha, oh wow that's awesome. Just freaking ❤ them ol ford's. Want one like that so badly. Thank yall so so much for saving it. Bless yall 💯
What a cool old truck! Really looking forward to its journey!! Keep it rolling.
WOW! Absolutely amazing. Again you and your dad do wonders for these abandon vehicles. Great to see that classic ford running again!

What's the plans on the 1954 Plymouth.
I have been wondering what has been going on with that car?
