If you guys would do me a huge favor, watch the video all the way to the end (assuming you find it interesting) and share it with a friend! That will tell youtube to share it with other people! I would really like to do a second video on this, let me know what you think!
DUDE!!! Why are those stickers STILL on your tool boxes? C'MON MAN! The truck looks great EXCEPT FOR THE ADS YOU GOT ON YOUR TOOL BOXES!! You PROUD to have CHINESE Company's on your AMERICAN Truck????
I'm a 54 year old woman from Sweden. Came to the channel for the abandoned cabin. Found some of the previous videos with cars boring, but this was so much fun to watch with all the silly captions. Well done on getting her running again.
I think the perfect name for the wrecker is "Rusty". Run it the way it looks, can't beat the aged look. It kinda looks like the truck from the show Sanford and Son.
My hubby and I love to watch what you do with getting old things started and running again. I love Ole Hooker for the name. Continue these kinds of videos. Love them. Have a great year. Diane & Norm
I just love it when I can start a Saturday morning with a new video from you. You were certainly firing on all cylinders, because your commentary was hilarious all the way to the end, and I think I was as excited to see “Old Red” turn over as you were. Happy New Year from a fan in NC who knows absolutely nothing about cars and trucks, but loves your channel! Cheers!🎉
You were in your element as soon as you hopped up on the trailer to see if you could fire the old girl up...your deadpan, sarcastic humor delivery was every bit as good as Derek's on Vice Grip Garage (a big compliment to you)! We saw that a lot of people said the very same thing about your narratives, humor and jokes as you were doing whatever you were doing in this video. Keep doing things like this and keep being sarcastic and funny as you obviously do have it in you just waiting to come out. ; )
You are growing at a pretty good rate, 99 Projects, keep going! This old truck being fixed up, brought back, named, loved on, driven and used on your channel and you just being yourself, making jokes as you do things, workin' on different kinds of things, rigs, equipment...are all the reasons why. You are doing your own thing, treading in the footsteps of successful RUclips channels' proven recipes, like Derek on Vice Grip Garage and Vice Grip Lodge. Smart. ; )
It's had the engine replaced. The 1948 to 1950 Ford F-4 had either a 226ci flathead 6 cylinder or 239ci flathead V8. The radiator in your truck is for the 6 cylinder engine. The 48 to 50 Ford had that grill style. The 1951 model had a diamond pattern grill. The speedometer may have shifting speed marks to tell you when to shift. Also the transmission does not have synchronized gears which means to drive it smoothly you have to double clutch it.... It's also has the ignition switch replaced because it originally had an on and off key with a chrome starter button to the left of the steering wheel. The VIN plate should be on the firewall on the driver's side. That will tell you the year and assembly plant. I actually had a 1948 F-5 & a 1950 F-4. Both were stake beds with a 134 inch wheelbase.
Love your videos! No matter the skill level of whoever is watching they have to be inspired like I am to go out and tackle whatever project is on their mind. Thank you sir for the content and positive vibes!
This was by far the best video for me. That truck is awesome! Glad it runs, looks really solid, and your body work is on point! Would love to see more on the progress!
Hit the ground running yesterday so didn't have a chance to watch until this morning. LOVE IT! This was SO MUCH FUN! I kept thinking it had to be the fuel pump but you were right, it wasn't. She was just tired. Tired Ol' Hooker. If you keep her for the parade, I wonder if it would be feasible to have her towing a car of similar vintage, both lit up and decorated. I almost couldn't tell which dog was which at first glance - Mingo is huge! At the rate he is growing he might end up bigger than Max. Thanks for this video - start to finish everything was on point - awesome truck, humor, skill, funny friend, puppies, editing. It's fun watching your channel take off. You deserve every bit of success. ~ watching with a smile from Charleston SC
Oh - I noticed the push board on the front of the truck. Reminded me of my dad - he always bolted a big board on the front his trucks because he used to push-start sprints, midgets, and supermodifieds (they didn't have starters) at dirt tracks in California back in the 60s and 70s.
This video is OBVIOUSLY doing very well right after it was posted...well over 80,000 views in 22 hours, that's pretty good! And it's because cool, old, nostalgic, American survivor truck with character, charm and LOTS of potential to be part of future videos as you are workin' on her and usin' her! We LOVE stuff like this...old vintage vehicles being saved and given a new useful life...what's NOT to love?!
It seems every time I have soup on a Saturday you post awesomeness! I definitely say The Ole Hooker! I see Mr in and out, literally popped in and out 😂Mingo is such a Big Boy now...😮 Your little clips of explosions got me giggling. You know I am totally down for more videos! On my way to share! Thanks for making my Saturday better!
Thank you, I really appreciate that. Mr in and out did stop by lol Mingo is big because he pretty much never stops eating lol i appreciate you watching and sharing
YES PLEASE, we would love to see you do more with the old girl, fixin' her up a little, making her safe, useable, drivable and being used in some of your videos. Treat the rust you need to, patch what needs patching, seal it with shine juice or clear coat it (VGG products), do the brakes, tune it up, get new tires, exhaust, the necessaries and definitely paint "The Ol' Hooker" in big white letters on both doors...that'd be PERFECT, COOL and UNIQUE!
Old school rules, great looking truck and to see the look on your face, Priceless. Heck yeah I'd like to see more of this ol Ford. Watching will it run videos is very interesting, all of your videos are interesting. Just never know what you are dragging home. See you on the next video ✌️🇺🇲
Wow, this is wild! Finding an abandoned 1950's tow truck like this is incredible, but the real question is… will it actually run again? Seeing how rusted and worn it is, it’s hard to imagine it coming back to life, but there’s definitely potential here. The way the team is digging into the restoration is impressive, and I’m curious to see how far they can push this old beast. I’m rooting for it, but will the engine fire up? 🔧🔥 Can’t wait for the next update! Anyone else excited to see if this classic truck gets a second chance? 🚚
Sweet!! I can see the Ole Hooker covered with lights, in next year's Christmas parade. If you ask me, the best trade in. You crack me up! Keep em coming!
Awesome truck! Great to see you bring it back to life. It's amazing that the winch still operates. I think "The Ol' Hooker" would be a fitting name for it.
I love all your videos! Make any video you choose. Your reactions to events, your sarcasm and dogs are what keep me coming back! Call the truck red rider.😃
LOVE the new truck, can't wait to see more of it. All it needs is some more cleaning and a few coats of clear coat, love it so much. Wishing you a great 2025. Big hugs to the furbies xx
Yes keep up the progress reports on it. It deserves to be restored. I noticed as you may have too by now; that the vacuum line on the distributor was missing which will most likely be allowing excess air in at the carburetor. Dosent help with advance of the timing when you rev up, although there is some mechanical advance in the distributor.
1950, a good year, I was born in 1950 and I'm in about the same shape😂, looking forward to what you can do with this truck, you got it it running so that's a good sign.
Yeah to a 2nd video cool truck! If you're asking for any suggestions-maybe something with a "W" since it's a wrecker and shows that on the hood? Maybe like Wilma, Willow, Wendy the Wrecker? 😂👍
Definitely call the old girl "The Ol' Hooker" and put that in big letters on both doors! It's funny, it fits and it'll make her unique among rescued and returned to service old tow trucks on RUclips.
I like your videos and I think the old wrecker sound like a good name am looking forward to seeing more videos of this truck and anything that you put😊
I am subscribing in the hopes that you continue to work on the old tow truck. It would be the coolest vehicle at any car and truck show especially if you get the winch working and everything operational (rustoration?). The patina is to die for.
Most definitely do a 2nd video ! I really enjoy watching you work on the older vehicles just wish your videos were longer as I enjoy the content very much !! One other question , is the cabin that you worked on finished or will there be other videos on that eventually ?
Dude! Mechanical comedy GOLD! ball peen hammer-best body tool ever. Was wondering why you didn't drain fuel first. Looked like Max and Mingo relieved themselves into gas tank😂 You make my Saturdays. Be blessed bro. Yashua Rules!
AMAZING ! I have said it before.... it seems like there is nothing you can't fix ! ... seriously, though, you have the touch .... how long did it take to get it working in real time? Congrats and keep those videos coming and give Max & Mingo a scratch behind those ears !
Your woman found a way cool, old school, 1950's too, fantastic restoration preservation project for you! Make it safe, reliable, useable and cruiseable too (parades, car shows, local tow rescues). Treat the rust where necessary to arrest it from doing more damage, repair rust where needed, clear coat it or shine juice it (Vice Grip Garage wipe on or spray on product) to protect the patina and drive it on your channel, the thing is COOL and NOSTALGIC.
I love how you immediately use the pressure washer to get rid of the lichen and vacuum out the interior discovering treasures along the way. Whatever you are trying to salvage I am here for it I might not understand it, I know I can't do it myself but I can watch you troubleshoot your way to victory every damn time!😂
@ 😂😂😂 great buddy for Max. Ps hope the video does well would love to see more work being done on her. I just love the style and shape of the old trucks 🛻
We had a car crusher at the scrap yard with a ford V-8 It sounded exactly the same as your truck. It was out of a 1960 something Ford car. Keep up the videos!
The way they made things back in the day, like the way the hoodlatch works, it is no wonder people were in love with their cars. I saw an old 59 volvo delivery van that had the oull latch for the gas cap cover.
The comments were overwhelmingly in favor of you naming your new old girl "The Ol' Hooker" and painting it big and bold on both doors...and we wholeheartedly concur! Keep her, fix her up as needed for safety, reliability and comfort driving and riding in her and use her in some videos to tow, recover and pick some things up and move them with her. We'd love to see her in some parades and car shows!
If you guys would do me a huge favor, watch the video all the way to the end (assuming you find it interesting) and share it with a friend! That will tell youtube to share it with other people! I would really like to do a second video on this, let me know what you think!
That's a sharp old wrecker! It would look great restored but, I know that would be expensive. I'd like to see more of you working on it. Enjoyed that!
Love ur old truck and you are a character
DUDE!!! Why are those stickers STILL on your tool boxes? C'MON MAN! The truck looks great EXCEPT FOR THE ADS YOU GOT ON YOUR TOOL BOXES!! You PROUD to have CHINESE Company's on your AMERICAN Truck????
Yes give that wrecker some love. You know what to do...........😊
Tou should name it Mater after the gay from cars
I'm a 54 year old woman from Sweden. Came to the channel for the abandoned cabin. Found some of the previous videos with cars boring, but this was so much fun to watch with all the silly captions. Well done on getting her running again.
Same, except I’m 68 and from Canada! 🇨🇦❤️
Thank you, I appreciate that
La Costra 😂😂😂😂capa que cubre las raspaduras de piel en caídas de cualquier parte del cuerpo
Yep I’m the same 60+ female from australia
Same - I'm a 65 woman from SC - I've been around/working on cars all my life so I love all the videos.
I vote for The Ole Hooker. I like how you got rid of a worn out truck for a shiny crotch rocket and traded that for the awesome old wrecker .
YES, definitely call her "The Ol' Hooker" and put that in big letters on both doors! It's funny, it fits, it'll be unique.
how about Dirty Old Hooker?
I would definitely get Ol' Hooker stenciled in on the side somewhere. Top work!
Nice to see an old beauty saved from just rusting away. Hi to Max and Mingo.
She’s The Old Hoocker. She’s a Looker as well. Love it. Great save on that beauty. The video was great too. Keep it going Brother.
I think the perfect name for the wrecker is "Rusty". Run it the way it looks, can't beat the aged look. It kinda looks like the truck from the show Sanford and Son.
I love the look of it. All I’d do is put some nicer moderne wheels and tires and maybe a new seat
Yeah! Just clear coat it!🤔
Wow, the puppy is huge! Fun project!
My hubby and I love to watch what you do with getting old things started and running again. I love Ole Hooker for the name. Continue these kinds of videos. Love them. Have a great year. Diane & Norm
Thank you guys

Yay!! She runs and restarts!! I was rooting for you!!!❤🎉😊
Glad to find creator like you! Greetings from Slovakia :D
It's had the engine replaced. The 1948 to 1950 Ford F-4 had either a 226ci flathead 6 cylinder or 239ci flathead V8. The radiator in your truck is for the 6 cylinder engine. That thing looks bad ass and I agree the patina on it is fantastic. The loss of paint improved it.
Cool old Ford!!!! Had an old 60 something Chevy that I was able to change the spark plugs under the hood while it was raining, never got wet!
Love your videos! No matter the skill level of whoever is watching they have to be inspired like I am to go out and tackle whatever project is on their mind. Thank you sir for the content and positive vibes!
Really glad to hear that, thank you for the feedback
This was by far the best video for me. That truck is awesome! Glad it runs, looks really solid, and your body work is on point! Would love to see more on the progress!
It’s so weird, I show that clip to body shops and they don’t want to hire me…I don’t get it 🤷🏻♂️

Thanks for the kind words. 😊
your abilities are amazing..love your humor

I really like this truck. Hope to do some small upgrades soon but keep the originality of it
Need more videos on this old ford and more videos like this. Love what you’re doing!

Heck yeah man!! Your videos make me miss western New York!
this guy does it all, engine work, carb work, body work, a man of many talents!
YES PLEASE, we would love to see you do more with the old girl, fixin' her up a little, making her safe, useable, drivable and being used in some of your videos. umm the engine literally started in the video... dead internet theory?
@@TheRideGamingI think so
I really hope you keep fixing up the truck and make it just as beautiful as it was before!
Hell yeah do a second video, waiting on the restoration on the semi, and the workshop build as well!!!
Thanks for sharing and taking us along.
Keep the videos coming I enjoy watching anything u do. Simply because u can do anything and do it well. Stay blessed.
LOVE the patina. Clear coat and never look back. 😍
Just an idea. Maybe have someone who does hand painted lettering add “99 Projects” on each door in faded aged look to match the patina 🤷🏼♂️
"She just wants me for my body"
What a BEAST!💪🏽👍🏽
Sweet!! I can see the Ole Hooker covered with lights, in next year's Christmas parade. If you ask me, the best trade in. You crack me up! Keep em coming!
It’s definitely going to be in the parade if i keep it
Its red like a tomato. Towmater for sure.
“99 Projects Towing “ 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thanks for sharing!👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love it !!! That’s Tow Maters grandpa!!
“Grandpa Mater”
Grandpa Mater, no one can hate ‘er. He looks like a Rusty tater, we’ll see ya later, master baiter.
LOVE the new truck, can't wait to see more of it. All it needs is some more cleaning and a few coats of clear coat, love it so much. Wishing you a great 2025. Big hugs to the furbies xx
Such a nice Ford truck, very good job to bring it back to life 🎉
Wish you happy new year, to ur family n ur pups
Can't wait for more projects !!!
It’s crazy you traded a truck for a motorcycle then a motorcycle for this great classic ( The Hooker) truck. Great video.
Yes, it was…it was a trade up in my opinion
Hey! That's a great job, i really love it. A big hug from México.
This video has by far the most funny quips by you, AND the most frustrated yells by you! 🇨🇦❤️
Good job fixing old truck. It's worth watching.
Love the wrecker. Sweet old truck. Great find. 😊
It's a cool truck and it runs even better, I Would be interested in watching more on the truck, big Red.
I did not notice that. That may be the cause of the hard starting. I’ll check that out
Ole Hooker would be perfect. Great find.
Nice find! I'm excited to see what you do with it!
Should call the truck Ruby because of color of the truck. Please do the second video! Hello to Max and Mingo! 🐶
Cool old Ford winch truck my friend! I like it! I like the old truck!
nothing is tighter than things crossthreaded to spec
You need a shop because you're great. Praying for you to get a shop. Your so funny and you made my day because you made me laugh. 😂❤
"Snaggle Tooth" Luv the TOW truck, have one similar from Danbury Mint, huge tow truck man, someday get one of my own.
awesome video of getting her up and running keep it in series
1950, a good year, I was born in 1950 and I'm in about the same shape😂, looking forward to what you can do with this truck, you got it it running so that's a good sign.
Keep the engine and transmission on a shelf. Install a 7.3 turbo diesel engine and transmission.
7.3 would be really heavy for this.
Yeah to a 2nd video cool truck! If you're asking for any suggestions-maybe something with a "W" since it's a wrecker and shows that on the hood? Maybe like Wilma, Willow, Wendy the Wrecker? 😂👍
You said the name at the very end of your video. GOT EM! Nice to see another old FORD on the road again!!
That’s clever lol
24:15 - 24:33
Cool and beautiful tow truck🛻🛻🛻🛻🛻
Old Red Mare, but, like the suggestion of Rusty. Fun to watch you work and accomplish your goals! Good times
Definitely call the old girl "The Ol' Hooker" and put that in big letters on both doors! It's funny, it fits and it'll make her unique among rescued and returned to service old tow trucks on RUclips.
I fricking love that truck!
Mingo is growing like a weed! 🤣
Thanks for the vid. Keep it going please. 👍
I like your videos and I think the old wrecker sound like a good name am looking forward to seeing more videos of this truck and anything that you put😊
I am subscribing in the hopes that you continue to work on the old tow truck. It would be
the coolest vehicle at any car and truck show especially if you get the winch working and everything operational (rustoration?). The patina is to die for.
Most definitely do a 2nd video !
I really enjoy watching you work on the older vehicles just wish your videos were longer as I enjoy the content very much !!
One other question , is the cabin that you worked on finished or will there be other videos on that eventually ?
Thank you.
There are more videos to come on the cabin for sure
Awesome old truck. Great video ! 👍
Happy new year mate, the old girl deserves another vid 😁
You are definitely one of my New Favourite RUclipsrs I have ADHD and autism I don't know why but I really relate to the way you do things
Probably all the ADHD lol
Gotta be Virginiabell, I really love your channel, all the way from across the pond.
Nottingham, charlie, 🇬🇧
First time viewing your content. Love channels like VGG and JenningsMotor and NKNH. You just got my sub!
Thank you, I appreciate you coming along. NNKH is one of my favorite channels
Chris has a tow truck nearly identical to mine.
Dude! Mechanical comedy GOLD! ball peen hammer-best body tool ever. Was wondering why you didn't drain fuel first. Looked like Max and Mingo relieved themselves into gas tank😂 You make my Saturdays. Be blessed bro. Yashua Rules!
Yea that gas was pretty bad, thank you for watching. It’s always good to hear from you
Your channel really became my favorite lol I could watch and listen to you ramble for hours 🤣
Lol thank you.
Hi great content I think it should be called "lift and shift " keep up the good work love it from England 👍
That’ll be the name of my tow company lol
AMAZING ! I have said it before.... it seems like there is nothing you can't fix ! ... seriously, though, you have the touch .... how long did it take to get it working in real time? Congrats and keep those videos coming and give Max & Mingo a scratch behind those ears !
Thank you, I think it took me 2 days, not full days
Second video for sure!! Love your content. Keep it up.
Can't wait to see more of this, i love these old trucks!
Excellent video. I’d love a series where you restore the truck
Whatever you are trying to salvage I am here for it I might not understand it, I know I can't do it myself but I can watch you troubleshoot your way to victory every damn time!😂
Thank you lol it’s a ton of fun saving these old things
Great vid! Looks like you saved that truck just in time.
Love that massive front bumper perfect against break checkers !!
Yea that bumper is how all bumpers should be built
Loved the video! 'Lady in Red' would be a good name.
The pup is getting so big ❤
It’s all of the food he eats lol
@ 😂😂😂 great buddy for Max. Ps hope the video does well would love to see more work being done on her. I just love the style and shape of the old trucks 🛻
Go with the name "The Old Hooker"! Its unique. Everyone goes with tow mater. Love the video and cant wait for a second!
Let's make the second one! Can't wait.
What a beauty to restore 💪🏼
We had a car crusher at the scrap yard with a ford V-8 It sounded exactly the same as your truck. It was out of a 1960 something Ford car. Keep up the videos!
Nice project!
"The Back Woods Hooker"..... Most excellent nice job it looks like a better 70s 360 engine... Very entertaining young man nice job.
Love it!!! I mean, it HAS to be Tow Mater, right? But, without the "tuh".
Good one! great trades great fun
Sweet truck. I'm leaning towards "The Ol' Hooker". Keep rocking 🤘
Love that old Ford. Great save.
