Good 2 hour content. It means you spent many hours actually setting up, checking angles, doing the work, editing and publishing. Very much appreciated 👍 Would love to see additional videos of the iconic Cadillac.
What an awesome beast! So of its time, so stylish and utter extravagance! Well done and thanks for sharing, look forward to seeing more on this old girl! Greetings from the UK!
Hey, thanks a lot! I appreciate the info on the rims, not sure what I want to do for wheels down the road, but for now, I agree they don’t look too bad on this car. Cheers!
Thank you! I had read something about the vacuum on these cars causing issues, unfortunately as you could probably tell, there’s a few parts including the air cleaner missing from the engine compartment. But other than that, it actually runs quite well, and the idle bumps down a notch when it warms up.
what a beautiful car, america that i loved (not like today with, plastic, computered, misshappen, japanized boxes). If you want to protect this car and be definitively efficient against rust , you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and pour old oil everywhere each year. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. All the power window motors are rebuildable, but God love you getting the inner door latch handle bolt off. You'll see you can't remove the armrest pad to get access to the bolt holding the handle on. So you must fuss. Put it on first when re-installing cause if you drop it you have to pull the door card apart to get it! The Dash pad comes off easy giving access from the top down to every thing. You must remove the A pillar trim and just the screws along the front edge of the dash it has clips along the windshield. Do Not loose the chrome caps on he fender turn indicators. They snap on a ball clip. I used epoxy to attach a wire so if it pops off it is wired to the fender. Someone took one of mine at a car show. It took 2 years to find one and cost $200.00! I may have a inner door pull if you are interested I'll look for them. The lower high-beam headlight bezels have two visible screws and two lower nuts you must remove from behind. If anyone has replaced those headlight they won't be there. It is a good indicator that it is a low mileage if they are still there, but bad for you if you have to remove them.
Wow, you sound like a guy who’s been around a few caddy’s before. I’m definitely going to go check to see if the nuts are on the back of the high beam headlight bezels. I’m noticing that nothing is cheap for these things, but I just ran into a guy earlier today who may actually have all of the trim pieces I need yet, so here’s to hoping. Thanks for all of the tips.
@@Rustwrangler In the 80s I worked on a 1967 Series 60 Special I fixed all the window switches, plugs & motors. and I have a 1965 Fleetwood Brougham. So if you have any Questions let me know I may have dealt with it too. good luck! I'll wait with baited breath for your next video.
Keep up with these kind of videos .. I don’t know why ur views are so low. Guess cause there is so many people out there doing videos now it’s crazy. You will definitely get there buddy
does this have the same type of telescoping steering wheel like the 66-67 tornado does? on mine you turn the large center knob thing counterclockwise then pull or push steering wheel to adjust, also I wonder if this one has the auto high headlamps? are you going to mount bull horns on the hood like they do in Texas? :) :)
Haha, no bull horns for me. I don’t believe it has a telescoping steering wheel, at least not as far is I could tell, and for the headlights, there’s a dimmer switch on the floor, so I don’t believe they are auto high headlights.
I was gifted a 1965 cadillac calais 4 door coupe. It hasn't ran in 12 years. The steering wheel pops up when you pull on it, and the brakes seem to seized up on me becausethe car wont bunge even when pushing it on neutral. Any advice?
Some of these old caddy’s had a telescopic steering column, mine does not, and I don’t know much about the ones that do. As far as the brakes go, mine was pretty hard to push in neutral as well before I started working on it, might just be from sitting so long, I would pull each drum off if you can and inspect everything on the brakes, if things look good, you can adjust the pads in just a little to not be so tight, otherwise rebuild them.
@Rustwrangler was wondering, when I do a break pad replacement on each 4 wheels, do I need to pump the brakes after I'm done with each one, one by one or pump all 4 at the same time when im done? And should I leave the cap on when I'm pumping or cap off? It's a 2019 chevy impala, off topic, but just need help. Thanks
@@3rdchtm one of my videos on the 66 c10 I’m pretty sure I tried to explain and show how I bleed a brake system by myself, maybe check that out and see if it helps.

Very proud of your efforts and happy for you. Good job!
Great car anf video! Thank you! Idle was high due to vacuum lines not being connected anymore for the air cleaner and whatever else.

Thank you! I definitely will, I’ve got quite a few more videos like this already in the works.
Wish I could find a caddy like that one. Throw you for now a cheap white paint job on there. Those are one of my favorite cars that and the 68 Camaro

I think the rear drum brakes is only activated when the emergency brake is applied.

I would like to, but they’re not cheap, and this one is not too bad.
Sometimes ya just can’t save a buck!
Ford Lincoln had the 429
In the early to mid sixties, Cadillac used a 429 motor, before they switched to a 472.
