I'm just about to get rid of my EV6 for a used Model 3lr. The Kia is a good car, but the efficiency and supercharging ease is just undeniable. Then, like you say, the software is just light years beyond on a Tesla.

I didn’t realise the entertainment system in an ID3 was that laggy, it looks horrible to use.

To any ID3 owners? Would you recommend buying the car? I’m still worried about buying an electric car. A car which only has 200 miles capacity has its drawbacks compared to my PetrolPrices car which gets 340 miles from a full tank.

Thanks for this. Only got my model 3 2 weeks ago and though this was a fault with the indicator stalk. I had auto cancel on as I liked it on motorways but as i don't really do that much in the way of motorway driving I'm turning it off as it's not really that reliable on other roads. I'm finding I have to manually cancel the indicators far more than I ever did in a conventional car that had a mechanical cancel on the steering wheel. It would be good if Teslas had a sensor on the steering column as well as relying on trying to work out if you have completed the manoeuvre.

Have to many issues over the last 3 years with my id3 . Last one the entire console was replaced. 3 Tyres blow out as well and now I'm hearing there is a recall. Just going to get a telsa

VW has a nasty habit in pushing products onto the market, which have not been fully tested/developed yet. Just wait a couple of years and then the EV's from VW will hopefully give less trouble... (and have a lower salesprice!).

Believe it or not, now the ID.3 is more expensive than Tesla 3 in The Netherlands! Now the Tesla 3 basic model (491km range) is for 42k. ID3 basic model (427 km range) is for 45k.

Update makes it better because less effort to indicate more than 3 blinks and also When indicating right, push indicator fully down to left and it will switch without having to cancel first

At the time the m3 SR+ was costing around 50K in Ireland, today the LR is costing 50k. I got the ID.3 Tour 5 82 Kwh for 41,500 K 1.5 years ago. Id.3 82 Kwh Positives in my opinion Rage is good, driven 300 Kms still had 20% left driving motorway speeds 120 Km/hr Recently off the motorway getting 200 Kms per 40% charge. Car looks better than m3 outside Good to drive I like the travel assist. Negatives. Interior looks cheap with plastics you'd see in the Caddy Van. No speakers in the rear doors in the Tour 5 costing 41.5 K Euro's There's annoying rattles especially the doors with the stereo cranked up. Infotainment, sluggish and ergonomics poor. God be with the days you had dedicated buttons for the likes of the radio with buttons for preset stations, easy, simple no menus. I think all this tech in cars especially touch screens are very distracting especially when you have to take your eye off the road for longer than you should. I'm not sure I could tolerate another car who depends so heavily on the touch screen, I want more buttons for basic things like Climate control and radio. People are just addicted to screens and flicking though stuff endlessly, and this is not good in cars that can travel at high speeds and kill people.

Once again the Gameboy generation concentrate on the software in the infotainment system. It's a car not a games console. If you don't like the car just say so but to piggyback all the low rent journalists who complain about the software shows tha thou are just looking for an excuse to change your car. Can't wait for your excuses when you decide to change out of the Tesla. Incidentally, we own an ID.3. It's a practical car, end of. Equally we could have and nearly did buy a Kona or an MG but we chose the ID.3. Disappointing piece of cheap rent clickbait designed solely to get the Tesla fanbois on your channel. Your choice.

I owned a ID 3 but after 2 months i tested a Tesla and bought it an even if i liked the ID 3, a decent car, so can i just say that I love my Tesla. Funny video by the way.

I found myself screaming at the phone when you pressed the HOME button instead of the return (top left) when reviewing the download content. Interesting though. We have just acquired a 2 year old ID.3 First and the screen says that it is at 2.3 although VW say that it is at 2.4. Shoddy. I have signed up to We Connect and await eagerly some information about an update 3.0. Odd how the car can disable drive but cannot turn the lights off.

I have a ID 4 first max with 2.4 since August 2022. Now I Stil don’t get 3.0 OTA, despite being always in an area with good signal. VW (all instances) say all is fine. Just one guy said that it LOOKS ok from the main system specs. But in fact some of the 33 components may not have the right update and still this does not lead to an error message. All other ID4 first max drivers I have contacted have the update since long. In any way: I want 3.0. I waited for 9 months. Nothing happens. Does anyone have a clue?

I on the other hand moved to Hyundai Ioniq5, which was just better than TM3/Y, for following reasons: - screen behind the wheel with speedometer and other controls - HUD - V2L (to power electric grill from the car, while camping) - ventilated seats, adjustable headrest - better suspension - better sound isolation But I was also considering ID.5. VW improved their software by a lot, and plug&charge is now available (also in HI5, btw.)

The convenience function has to be a bug that is missing and must come back. I totally agree with you about the auto indicators that they are a bit buggy, also if you want to chance two lanes sometimes it knows cuz the wheel is still pointing in a lane change direction, but sometimes it cancels and the car things you are "accidentally" leaving your lane and starts all sort of savety movements...

Your better off getting a Tesla, VW doesn't know how to do car software which is critical to operate a EV correctly not to mention the charging infrastructure.

One thing you didnt mention is just how good the stock stereo sounds. For a standard car it sounds fantastic! Also the headlights are so bright at night... probably the best ive ever seen.

With 35p/ kWh as is now (26 Oct 2022) in Edinburgh at public chargers- still less that my home tariff ( my fantastic power provider has offered me 40 pence for kWh...Not a joke!) stats will be totally different... Having EV doesn't make any sense for me. First thing I'm going to do in New Year is selling my OVERPRICED , USELESS and HOPELESS VWiD3...And I'm going to buy HYBRID!!!

It's been -2C to -6C for the past week and I've made 7 journeys from a cold start in my ID3 Family edition with an average of just over 3 miles per journey. Each time I've had the heaters running on full blast as well as heated seats and steering wheel. My average range over these 7 journeys has been 2.5 miles per kwh which equates to a range of 145 miles. So something is seriously wrong with your ID3 if you are only getting 58 miles. Suggest you take it to the dealership to get it looked at.

This is really odd. I've had my ID3 Family Edition through two winters with sub-zero temperatures, the battery is used for a series of short journeys and i've never had less than 120 miles to a full charge. In the summer I typically get 230 miles making a series of short journeys. I'm not sure how you are only getting 58??

Wish I knew this before as I have a 200 mile trip in a few days and wondered why it suddenly dipped. Back to combustion engines for winter lol. Electric in Spring and Summer. Thanks for the video.

I tried the acceleration on a 2022 Plaid and I was literally in shock thinking how is this possible. The only way to describe it is that it’s pleasantly violent.

Have you tried this again with ID software 3.1? I think they reduced the battery heating in winter somewhat. I drive an Nissan Leaf 40kwh EV in Winter. Preheating the car for 15 minutes take away about 2% state of charge, but I get in a nice and warm car and no ice on the windscreen. In Norway with super soft nordic winter tyres and -5 to -10 degrees below cero, I would say short trip range with preheating every time gives you about 30% of WLTP range. Still worth it as long as I’m charging at home. My gasoline Toyota Avensis will do 0,62l per 10km in summer on long trips, and about 1,05l per 10km in winter short trips, but you will be wasting time scraping ice from the windows and be cold in the cabin for the first 5 mins.

The long range only loses a car length against a M3P from takeoff. It’s nothing. Both are crazy fast.

If the ID3 was under warranty why didn't you get the air con fixed ? How much was the Tesla ? Also the Tesla chargers at a Tesla garage near me are over 60p per kw.

You do not need to be tech knowledgeable, as most things can be done with voice commands in the Tesla. Once again another reviewer who does not do his due diligence.

I picked the enyaq over the model 3, mainly because you sit with your knees in the chest when in the backseat

so u bought a bigger EV car.... ID3 and tesla model3 are not in the same category.....like 40cm lengh difference.... orange , apples...
