Remembering when this single was released. I was so disappointed that the public paid no attention to it. The man had to take his act overseas to be appreciated. Soul man for sure.

Well we had plenty of great music before MTV came along and changed the music, video killed the radio star and the music was still great before MTV. The Music would still be great and some entertainer's wouldn't have made some bad videos that killed their great career. I wish there never was MTV because the music that was popular before it was great and disappeared forever.

They public can be SO LAME in criticizing others..Pisses me off you getting judged for NOTHING you did wrong! You mean to tell me that the public is that visual that they condemned you for a VIDEO that wasn't the best you've done after all you did do that ROCKED!

I had this album, but lost it thanks to a bunch of termites. My favorite track was "I WANT A YACHT"

In 1986 I didn't know she was his sister. For me was just "this guy is doing this hot girl and that's why she is singing with Zappa's son". She was hot! Many years later I discovered she was the valley girl. Despite the father, both zappas remained almost unknown in Brazil. I didn't like Zappa, only in 2014 I decided to hear his entire (nuts) discography.

Brian Smith is one of the most classy, tasteful guitarists in Canadian rock (although he usually plays a strat). The guitar duelling with former producer Randy Bachman on Trooper's first and third albums is absolutely insane.

Totally agree with @raymoore1397. My very favorite album of all time. I've replaced it so many times due to damage during moves etc. There simply isn't a bad song on the album. In my mind it has absolute brilliance up there with Sinead and Terence Trent D'Arby's debut albums. But still my ultimate favorite is D + D! My birthday (won't mention which one) is this weekend and my only request from my kick ass husband David (yup married one too) is this album once again. LOVE

I don’t remember this song at all. We didn’t have MTV in ‘86 (satellite signals were all scrambled by then rendering my Dad’s satellite dish useless). I am the same age as Dweezil and I was so jealous of him. Also had a huge crush on Moon. The vocal melody just kinda followed the guitar which is a mistake, but it’s forgiven because she was hot.

Just heard this on the radio in Ann Arbor this morning. Hadn't heard it on the radio since 1983. Sounded great.

Butchered by MTV. Americans just have no idea how to leave alone things they don't understand.

I had been a fan of Mitch Ryder since 1969. I finally saw him live in Richmond, Va. We wanted to talk to him after the show, which was sparsely attended. He was a complete asshole; a washed up “rocker” with no regard for those of us who had made him famous. Screw him.

Mitch's excellent rock cover of Prince's 1980 original is the best. Yet it went unrecognized( despite getting some good radio airplay) compared to Cyndi Lauper's cheesy version on She's So Unusual.

1/20/24 Squires bass player in the mid eighties was a lot different than his early 80s bass player...

A great album about the struggles of being young and trying to find yourself through experimentation with drugs, alcohol while also trying to figure out how to balance relationships, romantically and otherwise at the same time. This album really hit home for the 26-year-old me back then. It’s a dam shame these two guys weren’t able to give us more of this awesomeness for whatever reason(s).

When I see Hanoi Jane in a video claiming Capitalism/Communism/Freedom are just words that we might not know the meaning of, I have to admit i get somewhat skeptical our best interests are being upheld here... Great song though
