Explanation of C-Score:
C-Score is a metric created by this channel to assign an overall value to a football team. It takes a team's:
-Results, including standard and Pythagorean W-L record
-Performance, including game control and play-by-play production
-Quality of opponents, specifically performance level against opponents
and distills all of that into one cumulative and comparative score reflecting the context of the season in question. When applicable, a team'...

The 76 Steelers had Bradshaw go down with injury on a dirty hit in week 5 and that's when the defense stepped up. Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier both rushed for over 1,000 yards but they both got hurt in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Colts and were not available against Oakland.

Why only 3 year runs? The bills had a great 4 year run 1990-1993. 2012-2016 Seattle Seahawks had a great 5 year run. The broncos had a great 4 year run from 2012-2015. The patriots had a great 19 year run from 2001-2019. The 79ers had a great 18 year run from 1981-1998. The dolphins had a great 16 year run from 1970-1985. The cowboys had a great 4 year run from 1992-1995. The Baltimore colts had a great 14 year run from 1958-1971. The Vikings had a great 10 year run from 1968-1977. The raiders had a great 19 year run from 1967-1985. The Steelers had a great 8 year run from 1972-1979. It shouldn't only be 3 year runs, let it be more than that.

Sorry dude...if you wind up with more points than the other team....even repeatedly...thats NOT FRAUDULENT....injuries, cohesiveness.(which is hard to measure), teams letting go of the rope, exhaustion( some teams can coast ontheir talent to an extent..others must play atvtheir maximum to be competitive) IMPROVEMENT!, and a lack of quality depth...i guess i just feel that word fraudulent is a poor descriptive...using averages are to me kinda using misleading stats...WAYYYY to many variables in ANY squad's record...The great Nolan Richardson used to say statistics are sometime for losers...

That vikings team had no quit in it. That is why they were able to win those close games. From 21-23 the Vikings have played in a LOT of 1 score games. You failed to mention the teams they were beating in 22, they played vs most of that years playoff teams. The greatest comeback in NFL history was in 22, vs the Colts. Nor did you mention all the 1 score losses 2023 had. Etc. That team earned its record, every week. When you play majority close games, your going to have a low points differential. They are the hardest working team in NFL history, if anything.

Ok now getting that off my chest. Man that was a fun year but also very frustrating becauze we had the worlds worst defense in the history of football anywhere. Our offense kept us in games and won us games. Our game against Buffalo that year was the most crazy game in history of football. I suggest anyone who is a legit fa of football to go and watch that game in its entirety. Dont skip any part of the game. To many crazy things happened in that game. It was the 1st time that we played Buffalo sinxe we traded number 14 to them for a draft pick that gave us Justin Jefferson. So its was also a show down between those 2 guys and Jefferson made a point in that game. Yo make sure everyone knew that we won out on that trade. We sent Diggs the cry baby to the bills and in return. The oick we gkt from them for diggs gave us Jefferson. He made the best catch in history in that game. On 4th down. So going into that game peopek wondered who was the vetter WR and who won in that trade. The game had to be played to find out. And after the game it was clear. And it was of course the vikings who won in that trade.. Jefferson is 10 times better. But in 2022 know one knew yet. But Justin played his ass off and showed us all who was better and who won the b trade. And its such a fun and crazy game that even id ur not a fan of either team. U will still enjoy watching that game. It is nuts how it went down. Every time you thought one team had it sealed. BAM BOOM. Something would happen to change that. They would have a 99% chance of winning they just had to dnap the ball. On the goal line no less amd westher they got in or not they still would have keot that 99% chance to win... unless 1 thing happened. Just watch. Promise youll love it. Its a historic game

Great video loves the highlights. Inly thing i did not like was who was number 1. Because im a lufe ling and huge vikings fan. So i hoped the clip for the beginning was b.s. but nope it was true. And onxe i seen the yeat on it. All of those memories came rushing back lol and after the 2021 season. Me with evwryone else said if he got lucky amd the ball bounced the other way on all of those close games. We would have a really good record. Because every singke close game lady luck went the other way and it was so frustrating to be that clos eon so many games. And u dont want games to be that close that many times anywayd. So it was all defensive plays that needed to get bettwr. The defense in general needed to get way bettet. Fix that and we would be a very good team. Because we were soooo close so many times. So what did the vikings do in the off-season? Well they addressed the defense of course. But BUUUUT they did something super dumb. I noticed in the off-season that they were uoading tons of players on defense. Someone wanted to make it his team so the new defensive coach got rid of everyone. And switched to a 3-4 defense. We have NEVER had 3-4 as out main scheme. Its always veen 4-3. Amd the dumbass coach DC got rid of evwryone and replaced them with other players that sucked. He drained out Defense Line and stocked up on LB and DB's. Cuz of the switch to 3-4. Which was dumb. Whatbhe really was doing was trying to make it his defense by getting rid of all of the guys we already had and most od them were super good. . All because. His excuse i should say was because of the switch from 4-3 to 3-4. Hebdidnt have to do anything to the roster. Mostly since it was a brand new defense he was going with and didnt know if it wouls work. But he wanted his guys and blah blah blah.. so we got rid of very good DL and added junk linebackers and that switch to the 3-4killed us all season and he b was so bone headed he refused to switch back to the 4-3 saying it wouls eventually work.... it NEVER DID. And the head coach had to switch it back to the 4-3 but when he did. We no longer had the guys who could effectively play that defensive scheme anymore because in the off-season he got rid of them all. I have never seen such a poor defense then that of the 2022 Minnesota Vikings that year. The onlyreason why we won so many games is because od our offense being sooo dam good that year and we also got very lucky more then a few times. The offense had to be good that year. All we could hope for is that we had the ball more times then our opponents and that we ended up with the ball last. Because we new we could score. We also new we coukd not stop the other team from scoring either. Man that was a tough year to swallow. Teams that year that we gad close games with. If we would have had the defense from the year before or just a better defense then we had we would habe blown iut all of those teams we had close games with. You guys have no idea of how bad our defense was that year. We took such a massive drop in defense that yeat from the year before that man did that hurt. And its all on one guy. The defensive coordinator that year. He sucked. He wanted that shitty 3-4. And i know with some teams that defense works great and wat better then 4-3 would for them. Good for them. But not for the vikings. And were used to havj g a good defense all the time. We never have a shitry one.. well that guy moved us from 4-3 which we have never ever used as our base D. And then he cut all of our studs on the D side if the ball. So we had no I e to play the new base D. Amd worse yet. When the head coach stepped in to switch it back. He had no guys to use cuz thebother guy released all of our good players but one. So webhad a shot that year to make some damage in the post season. But that chance was taken away in the off-season before when the new DC graped out D talent and switched to a scheme Foreign to the team. Of course he fired after that season. Which should have happened after 6 or 7 games. It was really that bad folks. But our new head coach made a great gore in the off season with horinf Brian flores as out new DC... let me tell you about that guy. All of the hype about him beinf a great defensive mind is true. He didnt have a lot to work with because of what his Predecessor did to the team getting rid of a lot of the guys. So we got what we could thro free agency and the drafts and then he went to work. What a difference. First thi g brian did was out as back to 4-3 and then his coachj g took over. The man is a defensive genius. We instantly went from last in defense and it wasnt even close . We instantly went from last not even close like i said to be I ng a lot better then average being one of the betterbteMs on defense and he didnt even have the guys he wanted to work with. He took what was left over from the moron who graped our D the tear before. And his schemes and plays just everything made us such a better team on that side of the ball. The guys on defense love playing for him... and now they have a full yeat u der there belt under flores and he got what he wanted in the draft and maybe help in free agency. So we should be a lot better on D this year. We drafted a DE/LB Lawrence Taylor and Derek Thomas type of player in the first round. Dallas Turner. Who should maje an immediate impact on defense. And we are already studs on offense... we have the vest WR AND TE COMBO in the league. And we added a great RB IN the off season from green bay. So as long as our temp starter a former 1st round draft pick feom 6 or 7 years ago as longbas he playes good then we will be extremely dangerous. And we drafted the best CB in the draft with J.J. MCcarthy. Our franchise QB. THE GUY WE GOT to start u yim he is ready is a former 1st round pick. Which i think he will surprise the whole dam league. He has never has the weapons that we have for him to work with . Sam Darnald. Good young QB. Always played for crap teams unt now. So i predict he will have a huge year for us and by far the best of his career. Its the first time the man has ever had good WR'S and a great TE to work with. He is going to explode this year. So heads up to anyone reading this long comment. Sorry for that by the way. But if your reading this. Do t be surprised when u start seeinf his name popping up as torching other teams. He was drafted that high for a reason. And now he finally gets to live up to that hype back then. Becauae the man can ball he has been showing thag all off season. We made a good choice lettinf kirk walk. He was over priced and old anyways and could get us over the hump. Sam will be an improvement. Now that he has awesome weapons and has 7 years of experience. This is going to look to easy for him. And J.J is also kicking ass. But om glad they are groomi g hkn for a year or 2 so get him ready the right way.. the vikings are serious SB contenders

Aside from agreeing with the idea of limiting this list to winning teams, I think the whole calculus is mistaken. These are teams that outperformed their metrics, usually by winning close games with clutch plays. This is a GOOD thing, not evidence of fraud.

You can't compare 2022 to 2023 with the Vikings, since Minnesota had a lot of key injuries. It's also making it difficult to tell if O'Connell is a good coach or not. One lucky year and one unlucky year. We need a more run of the mill year to really evaluate him.

Fer shame, Doc. Discussing the 2021 Raiders without including the scenes of Brandon Staley of the Chargers stupidly calling a timeout when it had appeared the Raiders were willing to accept a tie in the final game of the regular season which would have enabled both teams to make the playoffs. The Raiders then kicked the winning field goal in a "Take That!" salute to Staley as a result which eliminated the Chargers and allowed the Steelers to make the playoffs instead.

They still went against the best AFC teams in the playoffs. If they weren't legit, they would have lost those games.

@@jdb2002 Not True. Fact is One team will ALWAYS win the Super Bowl, does not make them legit compared to Other Super Bowl Winners. Just Legit for that one year, even then I would argue with that, and here is why. Lets compare the 1972 Steeler vs the 1972 Dolphins in how easy of a time they got to the AFC Championship game.(* Denotes Playoff Team) 1972 Dolphins At 8-6 Chiefs - Won by 10 At 8-6 Giants - Won by 10 At 7-7 Vikings - Won by 2 Vs 7-7 Jets - Won by 4 At 7-7 Jets - Won by 10 At 5-9 Colts - Won by 23 Vs 5-9 Colts - Won by 16 Vs 4-9-1 Cardinals - Won by 21 At 4-9-1 Bills - Won by 14 Vs 4-9-1 Bills- Won by 1 Vs 4-9-1 Chargers - Won by 14 At 3-10 Patriots - Won by 16 Vs 3-10 Patriots - Won by 52 Vs 1-13 Oilers - Won by by 21 So, They played ZERO Games vs a team with 9 wins, but played 9 Games vs teams that Lost 9 or more games. Played ZERO playoff teams. Played 2 games vs Winning Teams. 1972 Steelers Vs 10-3-1 Raiders - Won by 6 (*) At 10-4 Browns - Lost by 2 (*) Vs 10-4 Browns - Won by 30 (*) At 10-4 Cowboys - Lost by 4 (*) At 8-6 Bengals - Lost by 5 Vs 8-6 Bengals - Won by 23 Vs 8-6 Chiefs - Won by 9 Vs 7-7 Minnesota - Won by 13 At 4-9-1 Chargers - Won by 22 At 4-9-1 Bills - Won by 17 At 4-9-1 Cardinals - Won by 6 Vs 3-10 Patriots - Won by 30 At 1-13 Oilers - Won by 6 Vs 1-13 Oilers - Won by 17 I think it is very arguable to say the Dolphins were less beat up in the AFC Championship game. Let me further this. The Dolphins played the Chiefs in Week 1, the Vikings in week 3, and then the Giants in week 13. One non losing team played in the last 11 games of the season. Steelers from weeks 8-12 played the Bengals, Chiefs, Browns, Vikings, Browns. But here is why I dont think they are even close to be considered a legit Super Bowl team of All Time. Here is a comparison of the 1983 Raiders to the 1972 Dolphins playoff run. 1972 Dolphins Beat 10-4 Browns by 6 Points Beat 11-3 Steelers by 4 Points Beat 11-3 Redskins by 7 Points 1983 Raiders Beat 10-6 Steelers by 28 Points Beat 9-7 Seahawks by 16 Points Beat 14-2 Redskins by 29 Points

@@WillMuny They went to three straight SBs , only one team has done better. They are one of only a handful of repeat champs. All before their 10th year in existence, they're teams that haven't even been to a championship game in their 2 decade existence. Are you as critical of "dominant" teams that fall short?

    • @WillMuny
      @WillMuny 4 дня назад

@@robertmurdock1848 I do not consider teams that "Fall Short". Nor did I question their run. I argued that the 1972 Dolphins were an Overrated Team that does not stand up to the Test Of Time based on Stats and Facts. Their Regular season was pathetic and their playoff run was pathetic when compared to other Super Bowl winning teams. I would rank the 1983 Raiders and 2002 Bucs as MUCH better. And they are not even in the Top 5 of Super Bowl Winning Teams.

@@robertmurdock1848 Two more comparisons. I think the 1985 Bears are the Greatest Super Bowl team. And why I dont think the 72 Dolphins can even be in the same breath as the 85 Bears. I know it is not really fair to compare 14 game schedules to 16, or to 1985 where there was an extra playoff team, but it does show what I am talking about. 1985 Bears At 12-4 Dolphins - Lost by 14 (*) Vs 11-5 Patriots - Won by 13 (*) At 11-5 Jets - Won by 13 (*) At 10-6 Cowboys - Won by 44 (*) At 10-6 49ers - Won by 16 (*) Vs 10-6 Redskins - Won by 35 At 8-8 Packers - Won by 6 Vs 8-8 Packers - Won by 16 At 7-9 Vikings - Won by 9 Vs 7-9 Vikings - Won by 18 At 7-9 Lions - Won by 20 Vs 7-9 Lions - Won by 21 Vs 5-11 Colts - Won by 7 Vs 4-12 Falcons - Won by 36 At 2-14 Buccaneers - Won by 8 Vs 2-14 Buccaneers - Won by 10 Vs 10-6 Giants - Won by 21 Vs 11-5 Rams - Won by 24 Vs 11-5 Patriots - Won by 36 There were 10 playoff teams, of the 9 the Bears could play, they played 7 of them, going 7-1. Only the 12-4 Raiders and 8-8 Browns they did not play. I doubt there is another team that played as tough a schedule and Dominated like the Bears did.
