  • No one is great forever. We take a look at the worst season from each and every NFL franchise in the free agency/salary cap era, beginning in 1993.
In this video, I mistakenly placed the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC South, as well as placing the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC South, when all should be in the North. I caught the Ravens and Packers mistakes in the editing process, but not the Lions. I also place the Tennessee Titans in the NFC South rather than the AFC South. It's truly the little things that kill. My bad on those easy errors.
    Explanation of C-Score:
C-Score is a metric created by this channel to assign an overall value to a football team. It takes a team's:
-Results, including standard and Pythagorean W-L record
-Performance, including game control and play-by-play production
-Quality of opponents, specifically performance level against opponents
and distills all of that into one cumulative and comparative score reflecting the context of the season in question. When applicable, a team's playoff performance is also included.
A C-Score of 0 represents an average football team, whereas anything above 0 represents an above average team and anything below 0 represents a below average team.
A team's record is important, but not always indicative of C-Score. An 11-5 team can rate higher than a 13-3 team or lower than a 9-7 team. Not all records are created equally.

I will forever have love for the 2019 Dolphins and Fitzmagic... they beat the Patriots at the end of the season to give the Chiefs a 2nd seed and a bye (helping them to go on and win the Super Bowl). This also gave us the famous Kevin Harlan "I'M CALLING BOTH GAMES!!!" call during the Chiefs/Chargers game.

Can you do a video on “Best teams at a certain record in NFL history”? For example, you mentioned the Chargers were one of the better 1-15 teams, what would the best 2-14 team be?

    The only ones for which I have a difference of opinion (all minor) are the Ravens (#1 - 1998, #2 - 2007), Bears (#1 - 2016, #3 - 1997), Bengals (#1 - 1998, #4 - 1999), Browns (#1 - 1999, #2 - 2000), Raiders (#1 - 2009, #5 - 2006), Chargers (#1 - 1997, #3 - 2000), Dolphins (#1 - 2007, #2 - 2019), Vikings (#1 - 2001, #2 - 2011), Giants (#1 - 2021, #2 - 2003), Buccaneers (#1 - 2014, #2 - 2011), and Redskins/Commanders (#1 - 2019, #2 - 2023).

    AZ
2 years removed from a playoff appearance & first playoff win since they were in *CHICAGO*
After 2000, things wouldn’t get better. They signed a way past his prime Emmitt Smith. Though the Cardinals did add to the Vikings’ Legacy of Failure in the 2003 finale
Draft Larry Fitzgerald in 2004. Revive Kurt Warner’s career to get to a Super Bowl. Bring in Carson Palmer. Currently at a crossroads with Kyler Murray
    ATL
Too bad Michael Vick liked his dog fighting rings… idiot…
And Bobby Petrino rides off to Arkansas. Meanwhile the Falcons go 4-12 but that’s like finding the remote after the house burned down. Drafting this Matt Ryan fellow will do. Unfortunately there are more chapters to add to their Legacy of Failure
    BAL
Injuries specifically to Steve McNair. They gave the Patriots a scare on MNF. They also gave the winless Dolphins their first W of the season. Hire John Harbaugh and draft this elite QB from nearby Delaware Joe Flacco
    BUF
2 years removed from a playoff appearance (“Music City Miracle”).
    Their next seasons over .500: 2004 & 2014
    Their next playoff appearance: 2017
    At least the Sabers exist

    TANK BOWL CHAMPS
Congratulations on winning the Cam Newton sweepstakes!
    CHI
Bears: I think we solved our QB situation. We got Rick Mirer.
    What did you give up?
    Bears: A first round pick
    WHAT?!
Seahawks: Thanks! Now we use that pick to move up to go get Shawn Springs
    CIN
    NFL Draft 1999
Saints: We want your first round pick. Do you want our 1999 picks?
Bengals: nah. We have our sights set on this Akili Smith fellow
    bungles gonna bungle
1999 was their final season in Riverfront Stadium. The next season was moving into their new home, Paul Brown Stadium, but more bungling. They wouldn’t make the playoffs until 2005. Their first playoff win since the HW Bush administration was not until 2021
    CLE
YOU ARE A FACTORY OF SADNESS!!!
    i’ll see you on sunday
    DAL
Dave Campo was consistent! 3 straight 5-11 years!
Campo should’ve been fired after losing to the expansion Texans. Though it wouldn’t have solved all their problems is that their GM is Jerry Jones
    DEN
The Josh McDaniels error is over. Hopefully everyone learns from our mistake and never gives him a job
Well, they didn’t win the Tank Bowl. Our silver medal will be this edge rusher from A&M named Von Miller
    DET
Improved on their 2008 season. Draft a generational talent in DT Ndamukong Suh. Please don’t waste him
    GB
Injury Gods demand sacrifices! Lose 48-3 to the Ravens. Might be time to hand the team over to this Rodgers fellow
    HOU
    TANK BOWL CHAMPS!
Now, there is this QB in Austin named Vince Young. It will be like when the Oilers drafted another great Longhorn and gave a jolt to that franchise. Draft him and…. oh, you’re going with Mario Williams… ok, not a bad pick….
    IND
Kinda surprised the Suck for Luck Colts aren’t here but, 1993
Jeff George is a team cancer? I’m shocked, shocked I say!
1994 NFL Draft: Institute the Marshall Plan. Pay no attention to what Mel Keiper says
    JAX
Surprisingly did not win Tank Bowl. Last playoff appearance was 2007. Next one will be in the Sacksonville Abby era of 2017
    KC
2012 Tank Bowl Champs. And that was good news in a very dark season
Hire Andy Reid, trade for Alex Smith to revive his career, and make the playoffs for the first time in 3 years. But first some post-season heartache: blow a 4TD lead at a old foe, the Colts
    OAK
    TANK BOWL CHAMPS
And your choice: JaMarcus Russell, one of the biggest busts in recent memory
    SD
    TANK BOWL CHAMPS
Make a deal with the Falcons to swap spots. They get Michael Vick, you receive LaDainian Tomlinson. Awaiting in the 2nd round is an undersized prospect named Drew Brees
    STL
    TANK BOWL CHAMPS!
Now be very careful with this Sam Bradford (crack!) And you broke him!
Good news is that Sam Kronke is the new owner. No fears of relocation as he is dedicated to building a winner here in St Louis
    MIA
TANK FOR TUA! FITZMAGIC! I’M CALLING BOTH GAMES!
    MN
Trade for a past his prime Donovan McNabb because it worked well with Brett Favre. Also draft Christian Ponder. Time to add another chapter to the Legacy of Failure
    NE
    the end of the empire….
Hoodie resigns and does not get another job likely due to that means hiring him as GM. He was last seen on TV analyzing draft picks and most recently serenading a 24 year old with descriptions of the wing T
    NO
1999 NFL Draft: Trade all your picks and part of your 2000 picks to WSH for Ricky Williams
Williams was a great player at Texas, but can he throw? Catch? Block? Tackle? Cover?
After the season, Ditka is thrown into a nearby bayou. Jim Haslett takes over and leads them to not just the playoffs but their first ever playoff win. However sacrificing all that draft capital for Williams hinders the team in building on that success. Williams is traded to the Dolphins in 2002 where he realizes his NFL potential… in between suspensions for enjoying the chronic
Meanwhile WSH uses the picks acquired from NO and does nothing with them. An early mistake in the Dan Snyder Era
    NYG
Fire Jim Fassell. Hire Tom Coughlin. A QB rich Round 1 awaits
You select Phillip Rivers… oh… turns out No 1 pick Eli Manning doesn’t want to play for the Chargers. I’m sure something could be worked out
    NYJ
    1994
NYJ (after being duped by fake spike and losing streak): Sorry Pete, but you’ll never win a championship in East Rutherford, NJ
PHI: Get (expletive deleted) Rich Kotite!
NYJ: Rich Kotite will get us to a Super Bowl
Oh… he’ll get you to a Bowl. Try back-to-back Tank Bowls!
Draft Keyshawn Johnson 1st overall in 1996, too bad no one is there to get him the damn ball
Kotite wins 4 in 32 games and hasn’t been heard from ever since. Hire Bill Parcells. He hopes that Peyton Manning will declare for the upcoming draft. He decides to take one more crack at beating Florida, winning the Heisman, and a national championship. Parcells trades the number 1 pick to the Rams (they pick Orlando Pace) for more picks.
Jets under Parcells go 9-7 in 1997 , then 12-4 in 1998 & end up 30 minutes away from their first Super Bowl appearance in 30 years. 1999 is the year (crack) and it ends when Vinny Testaverde suffers a season ending leg injury. Jets go 8-8, Parcells resigns and hands over the coaching reigns to his assistant & heir apparent Bill Belichick… who in his introductory press conference immediately resigns
    PHI
    TANK BOWL CHAMPS
except… Browns-dot-Reboot has the first overall pick. They select Tim Couch.
The Eagles under their new coach Andy Reid select Donovan McNabb. And the Philadelphia faithful warmly greet him with boos
The Reid-McNabb combo lead the Eagles to 5 NFC East titles, 5 NFC Championship games (2001-2004, 2008), and a Super Bowl appearance (XXXIX). Too bad in that era instances of Going Full Reid rears it’s ugly head at the worst possible moment
    PIT
    COINGATE
Oh and folks complain about how bad officiating is today, let me introduce you to the 1998 season. That season is why replay is in place
The next time the Steelers would play a game in Detroit: Super Bowl XL
    SF
    TANK BOWL CHAMPS!
Ok, there is this QB just across the Bay at Cal. He’s a bit of an odd fellow but he grew up idolizing you. Remember the last QB who was a 49er fan as a kid? Yeah, you let him fall to the 6th Round to the Patriots, they just won their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years, and will be in the running for more trophies. So draft Aaron Rodgers and start planning the parade for #6…. And you draft Alex Smith…?
    SEA
Time for a rebuild. I suppose we could give Pete Carroll a try, even though the only success he’s had is in college. This Earl Thomas and Cam Chancellor pairing at the safeties could do well. Make an in-season trade for Marshawn Lynch, he’ll be great in short yardage situations
    TB
2010: 10-6, missed out on the playoffs due to GB clinching SOV tiebreaker. It’s like they never left the old NFC Central
    2011: 4-12 flop
2012: Fire Raheem Morris. His replacement is Greg Schiano who I’m certain will be a success since he’s from the college ranks. It is also Ronde Barber’s final season in the NFL. See you in Canton
    TN
You don’t win the Tank Bowl (TB) but enjoy Marcus Mariotta, an Oregon QB. Those work out well in the NFL
And it turns out that Ken Wissenhunt is a hack who is fired midseason. The Titans win the 2015 Tank Bowl but trade it to the Rams (they pick Jared Goff) and in exchange receive other picks where one of them becomes a King
    WSH
This was the evaluation season after the Snyder error of damn good culture ended.
    And wow… it’s a mess
Riverboat Ron was sent packing who should’ve been fired last season after not knowing his team could be eliminated with a loss. Dan Quinn, despite 28-3 *AND* the Cowboys defense giving up 48pts in a playoff game, was given another chance to be a head coach.
Please don’t ruin Jayden Daniels (looks at coaching hires) OH GREAT! YOU BROUGHT BACK KLIFF KINGSBURY FROM HIS SELF-EXILE FROM THAILAND!
    trust the process…?

I was expecting 2001 Panthers on this list instead of 2010 Panthers
2001 won their season opener and lost 15 in a row for a 1-15 record.
It was just terrible mismanagement at the QB position. Jeff King a solid backup for a few years was meant to finally be the starter. King had a terrible 2001 preseason and was cut from the team.
That left inexperienced rookie 4th rounder Chris Weinke as their best option the rest of the season

    • @mjwatts1983
      @mjwatts1983 Месяц назад +2

Panthers became the first team to win their opener, then lose the rest of the games. A feat later matched by JAX 2020
CAR 2001 is likely why George Seifert is not in the HOF
CAR 2023 had a better record (2-15) than the 2001 edition and both teams won Tank Bowl
Except… CAR 2001 was picking 2nd due to the Texans making their debut. CAR 2023 would’ve picked 1st but traded their draft picks for the first overall pick to CHI the previous year
Who did CAR pick in Round 1 in 2002? Some dude from North Carolina named Julius Peppers. 2002 saw a 7-9 record, then a Super Bowl appearance in 2003
Doubt this iteration of Panthers are going to duplicate that run
