    "Why don't you get off your couch and go sailing instead of complaining" 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤ Voted best RUclips comment of the year. Very nice boat but it reminded me a cross over between Boreal (hard chime, doghouse) and a Garcia (twin rudders, semi island forward birth, etc) with an interior modem like in Ovni. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. All these french boats and yards are making me want to move to France's Atlantic coast. Peut être je pouvais déménager à Bretagne ou Normandie quand je prendrai ma retraite.

    If you ever get to visit the shipyard, would you please be able to ask them about the painting process versus no painting and what it implies in terms of maintenance? I understand that the natural oxidation of the aluminium provides an extra super strong layer which looks quite dirty over time but it is natural to aluminium. I am wondering if over time oxidation still occurs under the paintjob to the point where the paintjob would have to be redone entirely. So I am guessing that in terms of maintenance, maybe the boat owners need to have the boat sanded and repainted over... every 5 or 10 years maybe? I am also wondering about material compatibility. Typically the chain compartment at the bow is made of aluminium but the actual chain is going to be made of either stainless steel, low carbon steel or hot dip galvanised steel which I guess is the only compatible chain material really. If you look at the Nobility chart of the most common metals, Galvanised (Zinc) and Magnesium are the least noble metals just below Aluminium while Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel ranks higher than Aluminium. You definitely don't want these two metals in your aluminium chain compartment. If you add to that the corrosive element of salt water, these types of compartments could be compromised as far as the natural deterioration of metal to metal goes. I am wondering if this compartment should be isolated so the chain is never in contact with the aluminium. If you ever get to meet the people at the shipyard, I would be curious to hear their overall recommendations when it comes to metal nobility. It seems to me little details like these who are not necessarily expensive modifications can make aluminium boats last much longer which is what we all want ultimately: low maintenance boats. Thank you for this nice discovery🙂👍

    Good book "Les Romanov" by author Hélène Carrère d'Encausse. These sailors are all brain and brawl💪🧠, they must be an interesting couple to meet. I am taking this is the Iroise 48 model (as per Mer d'Iroise) by Naval Architect Pierre Delion, or did you say it is a custom version of the Iroise? I absolutely love the exterior design, the interior is great too except for the sharp angle of the fridge, I would definitely add something in there to prevent severe concussion should someone trip over. It is a minor fix.

    Oooo, really love this boat! Things look to be done just right both functionally and aestetically. The line management layout in the cockpit looks great, esp the centerline placement of the winches. Is there a downside to that config that I'm not thinking of? Love the dual heat system, as the hot air warms things up quickly. One small thing I noticed was the cockpit drains looked on the small side but that could be the video view perception. Anyway, thanx for the tour! BTW, check your audio connections as the right channel is nil. Not being nitpicky and is no big deal to me, just like to see your excellent videos shine at their best :-) Cheers!

    7:55 I also look into Moody or this one. Moody for the deck saloon, but this Contest seems more quality. But, do you know what happens to those cushions when there is rain on the deck part of this yacht? Moody covers most of it, but how do these work in rain? just get wet and dry later? Isn't it a little too wet to sail and get inside the yacht if there isnt any cover for the cockpit?

    I actually quite like the look of this model. As an out and out mono sailor I would like to see what you think when you do the test sail of how it feels sailing her, especially in respect of the helm positions. I guess your comment on owners and flybridges and the difficulty in packing away the main is rarely an issue as they would be wasting a stack pack performance orientated sail apposed to a furling main which there isn't much left once the boom is raised so high as to clear the fly bridge. Thanks for squeezing this tour in at the end of a busy day.

Old sail boats were great at this. I blame marketing brochures that need to define spaces for particular activities.

    Hi! Nice cat, the bar is always a good idea :) I also don't like those "kid's cabans" on the top of the roof. Separate showers and heads make much more sense, specially in cats, where ambients are always longer than larger. By the way, I'm curious to see the test sail, it seems to be good at sea, in terms of performance, for the hulls are "thinner". Thanks for the video, habe some well deserved rest and I'll see you on the next! Fair winds!

    PS. that Natitech 44 sounds interesting, despite being a Cruising Monohull Dyed in the wool,guy, and maybe I should have added that one of the issues caused for Downwind Sailing Catamarans may be caused by the Wind Shading effect on head Sails that having very large Main Sails witha big hard to control Boom can Cause ? Igor does make a point that inadequately sized Mainsheet Tracks certainly don't seem to be helping , and he agreescwith my point about in Mast Furling being a much better option. By the way, I would rathervseevyou checkingba boat out, than watch the start off a Silly Sailboat Race, givenbhow opposed to Sailboat Racing due to the serious negative effects Sailbost Racing is having on Cruising Sailboat design and Construction. But as usual, that's just me. 😀🌟🌟🌟👍⛵️❤️

  • @brownnoise357
    @brownnoise357 19 дней назад

    As Someone who Catamarans Normally Hate, due to most of them basically Sucking Horribly at what Sailboats are supposed to Do, there is so much to like with Nautitech, frankly even I could get on with one, as Natitech have totally tamed Catamaran Motion, as have the Catana Ocean range, Leppard do a pretty decent job as well, but they have a nasty expensive problem with Very large zsections of Glazing Delaminating from UV exposure, which by comparison this Nautitech has sane Size and Shaped Windows, which even if there is a problem should cost a heck of a lot less to Replace- plus Window shading could well be good enough anyway Frankly. Another very large Complaint with All catamarans pretty much - having to clamber around on Roof Tops because idiots specify Classic Masts, is easily resolved by owners demanding in Mast Furling with a Good design of Main Sail, and then everything can be handled from the Helm. Unbelievably, Nautitech and Catana are both excellent at Sailing Upwind, but Igor Stropnik has asked Catamaran Manufacturers how the hell are their Catamarans supposed to be Sailed properly DownWind, which they need to do for Downwind Trade Wind Sailing when Crossing. Just guessing Oceans. Just Guessing, but this might just be assisted by not over Canvassing the Main Sail, by not having an over large Boom, along with in Mast Furling, might go a long way towards assisting with this, as Boom Handling did seem to play a part in this issue from memory. Apparently the Fad for Classic Masts on Catamarans, is entirely concerned with looks, which to me is Daft. Great Tour of a great Catamaran, tough being a Fussy .pants who likes smaller Sailboats, if getting one, I would probably go for the Nautitech 40 Open ? As a Side note, and this may seem odd, but as Sailing was among things heading for a Huge Crash in the Coming Economic Collapse, along with Property and Fiat Currencies The Election of Trump might just Dramatically Reduce this, though a very bumpy road still ahead. By the middle of 2025, the entire World may well be in a much better shape, though China, and its Debt to GDP ratio, is really Concerning, plus the threat of Nuclear War has dropped Wonderfully. I don't think people appreciate jut how Close Three Suicidalm idiotts - Keir Starmer, David Lammy, and Joe Biden took us within a Whisker of Starting Nuclear War, OnlynStopped bybthe Pentagon Saying Hell No, and that was followed by another Suicidal idiot , the Head of NATO Almostt doing the Same, bu Also had to have been slapped down by the Pentagon as well, because weeks later, thank god, ukraine has still not beenn permitted to fire Long Range Missiles Deep Into Dussia, which as Russia has said, they have no option but to Consider as a Nuclear Strike, and Launch everything while that missile still hasn't hit the Ground . Things look up, the World is a mu h Safer place Today, and hopefully it stillmis for allmof us Tomorrow. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob, 🤔🌟🌟🌟❤️⛵️

So, I actuallly do like the layout and the decor here.
