What a lovely boat to welcome me out of the ICU with a great tour of ( couldn’t reathe and had a mild heart attack). Keep it up, you’re cheering me up no end.. Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟⛵️❤️
Way beyond most of us poor sailors. This may be the ultimate blue water short handed cruising yacht, come on lottery. The video that I saw of her underway shows amazing ground covering ability for a 50 ton boat. Oh well nearly springtime so back to my Jeremy Rogers little boat.
It's all ready for me to take around the world! The part in question is the connections and black box for the fancy instrumentation in the cockpit. Anyway, a great vid.
One blast is 'yo, what's up?' and two is 'I'm happy to see you' or, perhaps, one to pass to port and two to starboard. Your choice. Love your channel and your tours. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge!
Thank you for a very informative look into this new yacht from Hallberg Rassy it is very nice indeed for the long voyages or just fun with friends. Thank you👍⛵
This is such a magnificent boat. Tick almost every box for me as my dream boat. Only one thing that Toby from Yachting World needs to be fixed which is the noise from water pump.
I think they will change the pump or pumps as this is hull number one, as they find these things I am sure they will be put right and changed for all the new build’s.
I saw Toby's review and when he flushed a toilet or used the sink - the water pump was VERY loud... I wonder if that was because HR was rushing the finish of the boat to get to this boat show...Other than that - this boat is now at the top of my wish list...!
That’s the thing with fresh water flush heads, I am sure HR will do something about this issue as this is hull number one so any nigly issue’s will be fixed.
Well, massive is the best word to describe this beauty! An art work for the seas, no doubt. Buying more lottery tickets tomorrow :) Can you stand up under the hardtop or you have to bow? No whisky?? What kind of boat is this? Hahaha! Cheers! Thanks for this first video on this incredible boat, see you on the next one!
She is massive and I would take this over the southern wind 96 anytime so we will sell that and buy this with lots of money leftover. I looked all over for my bottle of whiskey but it was well hidden, maybe next time.
@@SVTONICBoatWives The alcoholic beverage storage capability of a sailboat is how I determine it's max range, the ocean journey must always end before the sherry, beer & rum runs out.
Yes, I think the mystery gizmo stuff might be the drive transfer shafts & gearbox for the wheel / steering. Send my free Hallberg Rassey 69 to Aberystwyth Marina 👍
Excellent tour, I cannot praise enough your eye for detail. Lovely presentation. I hope you get to try it on the azure main when she returns to the liquid element later this year. What's your impression on the PU teak? Does it smell of plastic? It looks good on video. Cheers.
Glad you like the video and thank you for your lovely compliments, unfortunately I need to change or add script to the video as not I was right about the deck.
Beautiful boat. Things I like: In-mast furling, quality of woodwork, hard and nicely designed top, protected cockpit, flexiteek, fast. My concerns: for a boat that size, the galley, dining area, and saloon are modest. I suspect it's because the dinghy garage takes much space (which is why I'm not a big fan). What's the point of buying a nearly 70ft boat that is designed for 6 people? At that price I would instead go for the Oyster 675 whose interior and nav space are more spacious and the hull construction materials are better, unless I was going to spend most of my time sailing in cold climates.
Going around the boat I got the feeling that this one was built for Magnus and his family even space for the grand kids, the galley is a good sea galley but I think when they are in port the local restaurant’s are going to be doing all the work. Unfortunately I don’t think I I did a good job showing off the space this boat has to offer but I do agree that the Oyster has a bigger Nav space.
To answer your question about the horn...One short blast tells other boaters, “I intend to pass you on my port (left side)." Two short blasts tell other boaters, “I intend to pass you on my starboard (right) side." In bad visibility, one long blast, plus two short blasts every two minutes.
The hull windows are all over the place unfortunately, from the outside looks like the cad software placed them with random offsets for position & size & nobody noticed. Notepad autocorrect changed the name, it was supposed to be the 68. The mystery gizmo might be something to do with the steering.
Because they dont follow the shear of the deck, they do appear strange at first. My OCD left me noticing the same thing. They are actually not random at all, they are symmetrical both port and starboard and perfectly level with the sole of the boat, not the shear of the deck
If you notice, from below deck, all the hull windows are perfectly level with the interior structures. Otherwise, they would look very strange from inside
@@gregtimm5295 My car sometimes has different wheel trims port & starboard, nobody ever notices. My basic hull window design rule is - saloon windows are positioned for a horizon view by an average height sitting person & sized to allow the same size windows to be repeated in other cabins where desired, other windows must follow the sheer line (or a steady bow to stern line ) window distance set by the saloon windows.
At 46.5 tons EMPTY and 247m² sail area - meaning at least 55 tons sailing weight - there is no way a couple handles this alone. If one "aid" is not working properly you are done. Docking will be very tense. This goes in the same box as middling Oysters: you need to employ a pro crew.
I would like to find if it can be short handed but I think you might be right with maybe one or two crew would take the stress out off mooring this lady.
I don’t know that this is entirely true. I don’t know all the details of this particular vessel, but I have sailed my Hylas 70 with one other person (I.e. akin to couples sailing) many times. It is a similar sized boat with some similar features. I have never been in a position where I felt compromised for lack of crew.

Absolutely a gorgeous blue water beast!
She certainly is,
Thanks for your excellent tour, the 69 is incredible. Really looking forward to your future content with Hallberg and other reviews for 2024🙏🙏🙏
Thank you, and so are we.
I really like your videos in part because your situational awareness is so awesome that you adapt to any changes immediately!
WTF
I am glad you like the video
Another great video, thanks for physically going into the engine room, that 50 minutes went by fast. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you, glad you liked it. The engine room is massive and clean, it is always nice to poke around when you get a chance.
It's the steering linkage! Great video as well 👍
Yes it is, I think we are going to have to make some tee-shirts to send out to you guys, glad you liked the tour.
Quite a remarkable yacht, just fantastic. Excellent reviews. ❤
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed them and this boat.

Apparently they were hitting 9/12kn regularly, I would love to get on a test sail and see what she’s like.

Nice review as usual, the new boreal 70 would be nice video too
Thank you and yes that would make an awesome video just watched a publication video of it.

Only one thing that Toby from Yachting World needs to be fixed which is the noise from water pump.
Unfortunately that’s the problem with the new water pumps, no being sneaky going to the tolet on new boats as everyone can here the pumps.
I saw that review also - seems an aftermarket pump would be in order!
So after the pump being used for a while, the awkward noise would be gone?@@SVTONICBoatWives

As you were going over it I was pausing and trying to eyeball how many people can sit comfortably around the table. Not easy, lol, but my count was 6.
I would agree 6 very comfortably, 8 easy and any more would be a bit of a bum fight.

When is the "technical video" mentioned in this video planned to be released? :)
Soon I will be back on the boat (can’t tell you as the dates are secret) but all I can say is soon.
Nice.
Yes she is;
1 blast, pass on left, 2 blast pass on right.
One ahead, two to port three starboard
Heads or fridges?
The sail locker hatch doesn't sit flush with the deck. Not a huge issue, but on a boat that's all about quality that's not good enough.
You mean the internal hatch below deck yes
I noticed that too. I agree with you
I will make sure they address that before I order mine. 😂😂
Place for your toasted cheese sandwich 😂😂😂
I know right they thought of everything.😁
I'm going to say hydraulic steering for the helms?

Ah the window conundrum is always a balance or juggling act for the designers.
