It really doesn't matter if it's a bagger, H/Soft tail, fat boy, chopper, or sporty. Just as it's an H~D and your in the Wind and Freedom. Just ride what your comfortable on, and watch out for the A~Holes on the cells in there Cages.......!

Better to run rich than lean. I am a early modle harley tech. My guess is a bad valve seal or a burnt valve since the oils coming out the top end. Exhaust. Old technology is very cool, just not reliable. Reliability showed up in 1984 with the 1340cc EVO. Best motor HD ever made. You should build a Shovolution motor for it. Shovel top end Evo lower end. Much more reliable and can run a 5 speed trans.

@Ironheadsally i think your on the up to be proud of what you are about. To connect with ppl is cool. Its not something that can be done to the fullest in many cases in many veins of the same body. I like your videos. Harley Davidson Heritage Classic motorcycles are my personal favorite. I also really like the crossbones and the bad boy. Anyway I think it's cool to talk two people that are in the Harleys in general I enjoy your Channel

you might want to try a broom stick on different risers, and see if you can get your shoulders forward of your hips. EDIT: it looks like your shoulders are forward of your hips...that's the best relief...leaning back makes your arms the limit, some relief, but just adds complication to the complication.

i just pull a shim out ....drop the needle, ( Keihin 40 )....the jet just affects the top end mixture, but you drop the needle and it leans the whole rev range. hard tails though...not my cup of tea. I value a finely tuned suspension; follows the irregularities, and keeps the rubber on the road. and yeah it's nicer on my back, but as if not even nice enough, I run drag bars too; torso slightly forward, so my arms flex at the elbows, my shoulders move forward and down with no shock at all going into my back. my build is a weight forward build. I had four goals 1) quicker acceleration 2 ) better brake performance 3 ) better fuel efficiency 4 ) better handling, and a balanced drift. met all four goals. a balanced drift is about getting the bikes center of gravity a couple inches forward of wheelbase center-line. ( choppers tail out ) I would take just about any other H-D in the twisties. maybe not a road race tuned buell, or a factory road racer, but anything stock would hell of a time keeping up with me. guys on spyders can't even touch me....but that's partly because my bike is so fast.
