Man what a perfect video for me personally at this time in my life right now , I have an obsessive passion about Harley Davidson Motorcycles where I want everything on mine to be just right , but I’ve not been taking care of my body and at 44 years old even though I’m not much overweight I do not eat right or exercise and I smoke cigarettes and I haven’t been feeling like I should be 🤦🏻♂️😔 Seeing your video Sally , made me stop and reflect on my life and say man if I’m going to be able to ride for many years to come I’ve got to make some damn changes to myself physically. Thank You both so much for making the awesome videos y’all do and for addressing this major issue in the biker community. 😊
Well i’m happy that message hit home to you! The biggest first step i took was quitting cigarettes, after that it got easier to do everything 💚 ride free and hope u enjoy scooting around for a long long time 😁
👍Yes you are spot on, we can control what we eat and drink and work on the fitness of our bodies at any age, but at 62 I can already tell that keeping the old brain box working is going to be the hardest.
Great message, corporate culture and corporate social divisions has purposely not created a sense of humans long term quality of life as a priority, they want workers addicted to sugar and fast food and instant gratification. Its not an accident. The same corporations that own every thing, all manufacturing and mass farming also own the stores, they want people to be unhealthy and not in a state of mind where they consider their own life choices. It really is a mind shift, eating well and taking care of your self takes mental focus and a cultural shift in opposition to how regular society functions. I believe the term diet gets used so often is because people associate failure with dieting or temporary suffering with the term, instead of a cultural shift in how we think about our quality of life. Great video. Very important message. Thank you.
Hell yeah 👍 Getting my motorcycle has helped me change my life for the better spiritualy mentally and physically I don't miss that toxic lifestyle and people it's all positive and moving forward ❤️🔥💪🤘🙏
I love you Channel, you guys are great. On May 18th it'll be one year sober for me. I've never felt better at 57 years old I ride everyday. I have two bites a 1988 bagger and a 76 Shovelhead chopper. Keep up the good content of what you guys all the time. I'm from Ontario Canada
Congratulations Ricky! 1 year is a big milestone 💚💥 and many more years of riding to do!! 😁 an EVO and another with iron cylinders is a beautiful combination. Ride free!
You are so right Sally. I had never really had any health issues my whole life, so I just ignored lil pains here and there figuring its just getting older then I hit 50, and BOOM I had a heart attack, hit 51, then boom diagnosed with leukemia while in the hospital after I wrecked my Sportster I owned a total of 20 minutes, then lost my dad the year later, instead of working on my health, I just sort of gave up, sold my Harleys and kept my small Honda for errands but basically just shut down...that led to another heart attack and stroke this Christmas. I did wake up though, and have been getting stronger every day, been riding every day, and thanks to this video, I am going to kick it in over drive so I can get back to the strength to get another Dyna or Sportster and do some bigger trips. Thank you Sally, you are very inspiring.
Oh wow, when it rains it pours! You survived a helluva times these last few years, thankfully never too late 💚 there’s a sweet bike out there calling ur name for u to find one day. All the best!! Ride free
Sally, i was headed there!! I quit smoking in 99. Never changed my eating and never exercised. Now, i was having a hard time riding, so i made the change. On the 17th, i will be having weight loss surgery. In this process, I've totally learned about food and exercise and are in the middle of a life change. I started riding Harleys in 1970, and i don't want to stop!!!
I was medically retired a few years ago. Smoking and bad work environment. I carry an O2 tank. I still try to get around. Im getting valves put in next week, hopefully that will help. Ive been sober 24 years. Enjoy your content, keep posting.
Hey ya....good points. 30 years sober this summer...rode alot under the influence of alcohol, and bad food😂. Still riding at 65...and gotta get my ironhead fixed up this fall. Keep going guys.❤
IHS you hit the nail on the head 👍. Very good logic and great video. You guys keep up the good work. I am hoping to meet you guys some time this summer/fall at one of your destinations. As always Ride Safe My Friends.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great comment, you are what you eat, when I was in my 50s I was going to Jim 3-5 times a week, I would never drink the day before I was going to ride or work, you are in control of a dangerous bike or machine, and if you have an accident, whether it’s yourself or hitting somebody else you are responsible, sadly when I was in my mid 50s I met someone it all fell apart, I am now in my 70s, and now by my self, and getting fitter, and my getting back on my newly required bike Softail, Stay Guys and Girls, ride free,
I found the magic potion! I spent from around 20 to 40 drinking at least a couple fifths a week.. 1 jager 1 tookillya 😂. Cant really stand drinking much anymore so i live off monster and peanut butter cups. Im in my early 50s but look 30s 😆
Heath is way more important than people want to believe. I know people in late 30s that struggle with long rides and also know guys in their 70 and 80s that can out ride most guys
Truth is spoken, its all good in moderation, eat drink, smoke noooo, if your mechanically inclined, what happens when you fog/winterize a motor, spray that shit in the carb, it coughs n stalls... lol, ride sally ride...cheers man 👍
Had a concussion a few years ago. At 71 I go to the gym 3 times a week. But I get lightheaded days. So I don’t get to ride my 09 FXSTC as much as I used to. But I eat well and exercise as best I can. But I don’t go on long rides. Love your videos. Keep missing you two at the bike shows. But we’ll meet up one day. Hope your trucking business is doing well with that damn bridge issue. Keep riding. 👍
Appreciate it! Thanks, and thats great u still ride when u can 💪💚 trucking is hurting in this area, so we are gonna go play on the bikes and avoid the DOT rush week coming up 🤣 ride free
@@ironheadsally I used to get pulled over all the time in Az, Mo, & Ks. Because my truck is licensed in CO. It was always the same, State cops, called DOT, they called the sheriffs dept with the dogs. They would break the seals on the trailer and put the dogs in the trailer and up in my cab. They all would open my truck door and sniff and just start, what is that smell? I don’t miss that stuff. It was hard to keep cool and not say anything just yes or no. Never got a ticket but it still would get to me. Been cold & rainy here in the Springs. Getting warmer, wish I could ride more !!! Your bikes are looking good !!
