This scene always reminds me of my father. Auburb heard 3rd generation American. Our family is from Ayrshire. And this show makes me miss him something fierce. He pass in 2010 at 56.
Omg I love this... Immediately, he is embarrassed about wearing glasses and you can feel how self conscious he got around the love of his life seeing him in them. Then she admitted she dyed her hair because it has turned grey and he, without hesitation told her she was beautiful no matter what. Gaaahhh! My heart! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Lovely scene. Everyone remarks about Jamie's surprise at photographs, but what about his surprise at a clear plastic baggie she kept the pictures in? I always think about that when I rewatch this scene!
He only called her Claire when she was in trouble, or he was being very serious. In the book, she was very angry with him once and nearly bit his head off when he called her Sassenach so he calls her only Claire for several days. When it's clear she's forgiven him he calls her Sassenach very tentatively and carefully and she melts all over him. They're both very aware it's a term of endearment between them. My DH calls me Sweets. He introduced me to someone as that once. "This is my wife, Sweets." I laughed and asked him if he even remembered my name. He got this confused, then horrified look on his face. You could tell when it finally popped into his head. He looked all relieved and said, "Yes, this is my wife, Lilly." He tries to blow it off, that he didn't forget, but I saw those facial expressions that gave him away.
Dashing in glasses! And I have missed these two together. Don't believe for a second that they don't love each other. I think they have not realized it yet. Chemistry like that can't be faked. Beautiful episode! Thanks so much.
Donna Pilkington. I so Agree. Any movie yuve ever seen with real life partners is definitive proof. That cannot be faked. There is definite respect and genuine caring going on. Classic basis to build LOVE on.

I've missed the way he always reaches out and gently brushes his thumb against her cheek, how he's called her outlander even though it's not used as an endearment. God I've missed them in general. Such a powerful connection between two people and acted out amazingly well.

Because emmys are biased.And only american most of the times won.Look this year the supporting cathegory was so interesting and an american won (again) and the performance was the weakiest of the cathegory.Besides HBO have a lot of influence and this is a starz show so the posibilities are low to get a nom at least.

Time travelers are allowed differing amounts of carryon luggage depending on the show. Claire can bring polaroids and medical supplies. The Terminator couldn’t even bring the clothes on his back. Eric Bana in The Time Traveler’s Wife, same thing.
He never does fully accept that she, her knowledge and the things she brings with her are safe. A corner of his barbarian Heilander mind really does think she's one of the fey folk of some kind.
I always felt that in these first few episodes after reuniting, they should have had more quiet moments with them just staring at one another in disbelief.

I’m so glad Claire made sure that none of the photos showed Frank’s face. Jamie would have freaked out and been beside himself that the man he forced his beloved wife to go back to, the man who held and raised his wee girl to call him daddy, had the face of his torturer and rapist.
I agree. I don't recall Claire ever mentioning to Jamie how much Black Jack and Frank looked alike either. You would have thought so since Claire herself mistook Black Jack for Frank, before she realized she had time travelled.
