She was his top priority. He couldn’t save faith but he wasn’t taking any chances with her. To have your father love you that much to give up so much. He was even willing to lose her and Clare again to send them back to protect his grandkid.
@@susanpark3451 That’s why I feel bad for Jamie, look at what he’s lost, mom, brother, dad, Faith, Claire and his unborn child for 20 years, Murtaugh, Bree/ Roger and the grandkids. He’s lost a lot. He couldn’t raise any of his kids, Faith was stillborn, Claire went through the stones when she was pregnant with Bree and if people knew William was his Jamie’s son that would put William’s life in danger so it’s like life has given him so much pain even with what happened with Black Jack Randall but all the loss and experiences that he has endured in his life has made James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser a stronger man
I love the progression on Brianna's reaction: to her, at first, Jamie is her father in name only, but when she sees his very emotional reaction - she is his baby girl, not just a child somewhere - she breaks down, realises that she is in fact loved by this man even though this is the first time he sees her. I could watch this scene again and again, beautifully made.
Also because when Leogheri discovered she is the daughter of the "witch" she tried to poison her with thoughts that Jamie didn't want/love her, so there was a sense of insecurity once she meets him. This was a great scene and I am glad it also included when Claire saw her (great acting), because her initial expression is who is sitting w/my husband and then she sees a familiarity in Bree (but it's natural when you see someone you recognize 'out of place' you don't make the immediate connection) then displays the shock. So many layered emotions from Claire as well.
In the books, Brianna is really tall, so when she and Jamie first meet, he says something along the lines of "You're huge!" which I always thought was pretty cute

I think that's why she stared at Jaimie, even though he was relieving himself, just like "if this is the right person, then I'm safe and this is all okay but I can't lose sight of him and have to start all over". That desperation and stifled hope is so real there. The actor did such a great job communicating all of Brianna's layered emotion there.

They did the research, her mother was gone, then she went through herself, but until she gets her hands on "James Fraser" there's got to be a bit of unreality.

You just got a VERY special treat! This is a high-quality TV show spanning several series - it's brilliant! ... you've got so much catching up to do. Basically - Brianna's mother was an English nurse in World War II ... on her honeymoon in Scotland, she found a stone circle and was magically transported back in time by 200 years. Soon, she meets Jamie Fraser, a Scottish clansman - and tends to his wounds using "modern" (from 1940s) methods. Including painfully jarring back into place a dislocated shoulder, and disinfecting wounds. He thinks she might be some kind of nice "witch" ... and their love blossoms. The antagonist is a direct relative of Claire's (the nurse) new husband - a terrible fiend of a man in the employ of the English army (boooo) who personally flogs Jamie with a whip until his strength runs out - Jamie's scars will never fade, as we see across all of the many steamy sex scenes throughout the various series.
The scene of Brianna meeting Jaimie for the first time makes me laugh so hard every time because she was just standing there, watching the man she presumed was her father (if it wasn't then that would've been weird) relive himself, like she couldn't have waited till he was done and maybe didn't watch him?😂
Are you saying that a woman from the 60's travelling back in time 200 years to meet her father while he's taking a piss in an alley somewhere in the 18th century isn't realistic?
@@aidanbiton4105 um in case you don't know it ......this show is based on a fantasy fictional book. Traveling back in time is not a reality. It's only fantasy.
Best show and season ever! Claire does not expect Brianna to follow her and wants to do the task alone, so it is so shocking to everybody in the family when Brianna returns to meet them. I also love the fact that Roger travels across time to be with his one true love and fights through everything to return to her, even after being kidnapped and tortured by the Native Americans.
This has got to be one of the most powerful scenes in the season! But then again, the whole series is a power pack at every turn! Love all the actors and their work bringing these characters to life! 😍💕

I'm a guy and I love the heck out of this! I've never missed a single episode from the entire series!
Is this show more for women?
This always makes me cry, time and again. Beautiful reunion! So emotional
One of the most anticipated moments in the book and film. Sam played it great. Blue outfits and red hair are a wonderful combination. ❤️
I love to watch his face throughout this scene. His eyes fill with tears and yet he is smiling at the same time!
I haven’t even seen the movie but when he calls her his baby, it hits me hard. So sweet!!
This is a series, currently at S6. I highly recommend this!
The scene of Brianna meeting Jaimie for the first time makes me laugh so hard every time because she was just standing there, watching the man she presumed was her father (if it wasn't then that would've been weird) relive himself, like she couldn't have waited till he was done and maybe didn't watch him?😂
Lol! I never thought of that. 🤣🤣🤣
Are you saying that a woman from the 60's travelling back in time 200 years to meet her father while he's taking a piss in an alley somewhere in the 18th century isn't realistic?
@@aidanbiton4105 ahahaha, good one :))
@@aidanbiton4105 you just made me laugh hard LOL
@@aidanbiton4105 um in case you don't know it ......this show is based on a fantasy fictional book. Traveling back in time is not a reality. It's only fantasy.
Best show and season ever! Claire does not expect Brianna to follow her and wants to do the task alone, so it is so shocking to everybody in the family when Brianna returns to meet them. I also love the fact that Roger travels across time to be with his one true love and fights through everything to return to her, even after being kidnapped and tortured by the Native Americans.
This is my absolute favorite scene in the whole show. Just the two of him, Jamie trying to hold his tears back.
Hello Ms,
Hope your anticipating to see the new movie of Sam “Love again!
Are you a fan of Sam?
This has got to be one of the most powerful scenes in the season! But then again, the whole series is a power pack at every turn! Love all the actors and their work bringing these characters to life! 😍💕
I can watch this 10x a day...and cry every single time....
Thanks so much for all your love and support and i truely would love to get to know you all, feel free to message me on hangout

If I've watched that scene once, I've watched it 100 times. It just never gets old.
Agreed. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen this clip. Funny story, this is the first ever clip I saw and it was just “oh that’s nice”… then a while later I saw the whole series and it took on SO MUCH meaning.
Hello Ms,

I don't care how many times i cried watching this. This is emotional, beautiful! I love this show!
One of the best scenes from the entire series.
This scene gets me every time. Makes me cry like a baby
Hello Mister,

Literally the only time Cat looked "old" was in this scene , and it was perfect timing
I'll never understand how they're not front runners for television awards.
I don't believe there has ever been a more perfectly cast show.
Epic scene! Brilliant Acting! Sam & Sophie really delivered on such important highly anticipated meeting of father and daughter. When I watch this scene a second time my thoughts .... Brianna must be thinking no wonder my mother wanted to come back so bad my real father is a hunk!
IT IS a LOVELY scene. MOVING MY FEELINGS. THEY MAKE ME CRY.
This is everything; it’s like Rose and Jack reuniting across time , love it
I was so damn happy for Jamie here. After all he been through he finally managed to start recollecting his family for good
I still get goosebumps watching this scene, and crying like a baby, beautiful and touching, knowing what she been through the day before. So this scene just warms my heart 👌🏽 👏🏾 🥰
One of the most touching family reunions ever captured, on analog or digital!
I just discovered this show and has been bingeing it. Love it!
Not a well done love story tbh... It was literally forced by a forcwd marriage... Boohooo
@@robel3786 I mean I love their love story because through it all the accept each other as is. NO MATTER WHAT! But damn all that rape shyt tbh. JEEZE!
@@nomadicolours Yeah I mean I'm on s01e12 or so and I have no desire to continue on with it.
The love between claire and Jamie is just forced love but not built up like day Bridgerton did it with their main characters.
@@robel3786 I love their love story. It's the rest of the sub sub plots, and the a lot just seem so like a lot of FILLER.
@fortheloveofthemachines I’m now awaiting the new season. It was rough with the rape scenes tho. Enjoy.
Thank You for including the reunion between Jaime and Claire with Brianna!
No matter how many times ive watched this show i still get chills all over and tears in my eyes at this scene
Extraordinary scene, a very moving moment, I adore it !!! A stunning actors play !
My favorite scenes in the whole series. I can watch them over and over again 😭💕
Не понимаю английский. Но эта встреча отца и дочери сыгранная этими замечательными актерами рвет душу на части и не важно на каком языке они говорят!!!!! Фильм шедевр кинематографии! Актеры СУПЕР!!!!! Спасибо!
It's been so long since I watched this series and every time I come into this scene I couldn't bare myself not to watch again and again, just how emotional this scene is and the eye contact between them just tells everything (can't you tell) ❤
This even brings a happy tear to my eyes.
one of the best Outlander moments ever! Truly heartwarming first meeting between a father and daughter.
Hi are you one of my lovely supporter's out there?
I could watch this scene a million times and never get tired of it. ONE BEAUTIFUL MOMENT 🥰🥰
This scene has so much emotion yet they don’t say very much amazing show incredible actors
One of my most favourite scenes. It always brings a tear to my eye.
Absolutely LOVE this scene, can’t stop crying when I see this
so beautiful and tender moment and moving I want to cry.
This is probably my favorite moment in the TV show so far. And it's really resonant with the moment in the books where Jamie's dad sees Briana for the first time. :D

I need one those knitted shoulder robes. I live in a cool climate it’d be heavenly
Meh, it would not do much against wind. Knitted stuff works better as a layer under a jacket, an outside layer in colder climate works better when it's windproof. I does look nice, though
They´re back in fashion this Century...
There is a DIY book with all the knitting in the series.
I need one for the AC in my choir rehearsal room and loft. LOL
I love those, would love to have one myself.
One of the most touching scenes in the series. Both of them knocked it out of the park.
I watch this clip everyday. It brings tears to my eyes everytime.

How has this show not won ALL THE AWARDS. ALL OF THEM
Ya got me again you pulled my wee heart strings and the tears came to the top.
I’ve never watched the show but I’ve watched this clip numerous times and it alone makes me want to watch the whole series. So beautifully done. I don’t even know the story and yet I get emotional watching this scene. 😭
Same! I just watched every season all because I stumbled on this scene on RUclips. 😂 It’s so good!!
I am most definitely watching every episode on Netflix it’s really good I’m not here yet and this scene is what made me wanna watch outlander
You will love this series!! The best ever!!
Returning to this comment to say that I’m on season 3 now and I’m obsessed! I had no idea when I found these clips that the show entailed time travel. That’s literally my *FAVORITE* premise for movies and tv shows and I’m a huge history nerd so I can’t believe I waited this long. 😭 This show was literally _made_ _for_ _me_ . 😂
Love the smile on his face and hers
If this doesn't melt your heart you don't have one
Guess I don't have one :/
@@123j4j No I reckon you probably don't
Well to give benefit of the doubt, maybe just a case of not loving, losing, living quite enough yet. It feels happy to have a naiive heart. 3 kids, losing parents, ten years of marriage later, your soul will be tender and bruised and stuff like this will make you blubber like a big dope lol.
@@rhodalle I'm 54. Was married 24 years. 101st airborne division veteran. Served in Desert Storm. I raised 2 daughters pretty much on my own. I have a new Grandson he is a month old. I know where you are coming from. Some people haven't been beaten up by life yet. But it comes to everyone sooner or later. Much love to you
This wasn't that great if a scene and it's a tv show, not reality.
What ruined this scene for me is the fact that a minute ago he had his junk in his hands peeing in a corner then proceeded to caress her face with said hands...
Sameeeeeeeeeee😝😝😝😝😝😝😝
I agréé !!! That's disgusting 🤔😆
Thank you! That is all I see here too. Gross 🤮
I couldn’t stop thinking about that... then he touches her face... yuck!
It's 21st century English people still not washing hands.. Yaaak
Die schönste Filmszene die ich je gesehen habe....geht voll unter die Haut😍
LOVE LOVE THIS SCENE. I HAVE WATCHED SO.MANY TIMES TO COUNT
This was so bloody emotional, really, it was a lovely scene.
Awesome scene. Full of emotion.
Sam Heughan does "dad" like nobody else.
One of the best scenes in this series that has so many.
Caitriona Balfe face and gestures at 2:50 to 3:03 should be taken as a Ars Drama didactic reference as how to act surprised and joyed. Stunning joyful surprise, shining eyes radiating a sublime while intense light, set a reference on how an actress should do in such scenes.
A master class of acting. I got to this show late but my goodness what a journey. This scene was the payoff we all needed.
I get teary eyed every time I watch this. Great scene. One of the best!
Sam's acting here is something else, so much emotion on his face, both of theirs
So powerful! ❤❤❤ A thousand times I could watch this scene and a thousand times I will cry. 😭😭😭

I have been an Outlander fan since day 1. This was the best scene thus far.
This scene made me cry. Very powerful one!
BEAUTIFUL SCENE !! A FATHER AND A LUCKY HUSBAND BEYOND TIME !!❤❤❤
Outlander is the best show by far I've ever watched. I watched the entire series again. This is one of my favorite scenes. To go back in time is amazing but to meet your father. Crazy....
Simply one of THE Top 3, if not Top 2 moments of this amazing show! 👏🏻💥👍🏻🔥
Such heartfelt scene. But, there is a part of me that is troubled by the fact he was going pee, didn't wash his hands, and kept touching her face. This has nothing to do with covid. But, I love this show.
He doesn't know about germs man
The perfect family reunion. Period.
