Usually I hate a show/movie deviates from the book. But I was overjoyed that Murtaugh didn't die at Culloden, that he was not only able to see Claire come back but also got to meet Brianna & Ian.
I found myself surprised that this change from the book to the screen made so much sense to me and added even more depth to these complex characters and relationships. I typically hate straying that far away from canon but this worked!
@@pamelabryer4536he’d met her and knew her as she’s the wife of his godson (Jamie) but while he and Jamie battled at Culloden, Murtagh died and Jamie went to prison afterwards, she went back through the stones
This is my favorite reunion of the series. Although, I didn't really like that Murtagh ended up joining the Regulators to fight the British, instead of moving to Fraziers Ridge to be with Jamie and Claire.
murtagh was my favorite on the whole show... the way they killed him was not fair! felt rushed and choppy, the show actually ended for me when he died!
If not for his mom choosing his dad he might have been Jamie’s dad. He loved him so much. He loved Claire too once he got to know her. His death for me was the saddest of the whole show
He is- they’re drawing attention to themselves by sing an altered version of Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (which is the writers way of reminding us Claire is from the 1940s)
When Claire and Murtaugh were traveling to different towns trying to find Jamie, they would sing/dance, and ask questions to some of the onlookers. Claire taught him the bugle boy song (obviously) because she said it would be catchier. Then another group stole their routine, and they were using the tune.

So happy that Murtagh didn't die after Culloden like he does in the books. Duncan is such a treasure! I love both of these reunions!

He remembered the tune she sang all over Scotland 23 years ago :)
That was a great plot line but it wasn’t in the book.
Which is really even more impressive for a dead man 😂
He probably whistled it when ever he needed his spirt lifted.
I lost it when he started singing that tune. 😭♥️
@@tamarak9393the singing all over Scotland? Of course it was in the book
Murtagh was one of my favourites in the show.
Jes, he was one of them, sad he died😢
I don’t think Murtaugh has ever been this happy to hear Jamie’s angry voice!
The chemistry between all the actors in this show is magical.
Kudos to the casting director.

Blessed relationship in every sense. ❤Friendship, fatherhood, brotherhood! 😊🔥
😅😅😅😅
So glad this reunion eventhough it was not in the books. And another favorite was when Jamie met Brianna.
Did he never meet her in the book?
@@pamelabryer4536In the books Murtagh died at Culloden.

Yes - Jamie meets Briana in the books, differently though.
@@pamelabryer4536in the books, he is never heard from again once he and Jamie were split up when Ardesmure closed
One of the top 3 moments of this show. ❤ Loved when he met Brianna and said what took you so long.
This is one of my favorite moments in the whole series
One of the most beautiful moments. ❤❤ gotta love Murtagh
I'm not crying , I'm not crying .
One of the best, you feel every moment!
I love Murtagh and Claire's friendship.
One of the most beautiful reunions of this TV series !
Always loved Murtagh!

They probably did that so he would die on the show as he did on the books. Quickest way that would fit his character.
Damn, I miss this show. One of my all time faves.
It still has one more season.
Murtaugh and Lord Grey are my favorite characters aside from Jamie and Claire.
I love Murtagh!!!
Das schönste Wiedersehen zwischen Claire und Murtagh.
Aber auch Jamie trifft seinen geliebten Paten, beides eine ergreifende Szene.
💯💯👌👌👍👍🥰
Goosebumps 🫶🏻
This made me cry
Ahh.. one of my top love/hate inconsistencies of the show vs books. Love Murtagh, but it really grits on me since he died at Culloden.
Time travel
grates, not grits
I agree. I wish his story would have been like the show.
I really wished he would’ve survived in the books 😢
I LOVE MURTAGH SO MUCH!
Loved him

Agreed
The best scene! Why did they take Murtagh out of the series??? 😓
Great relationship!
I was cried that day no lie
Murthag un gran personaje, gran apoyo para Jamie.

Wonderful great
Murtagh dying was horrible 😢
Isn't he the one that helps Claire find Jamie in the first season

In the book he died at Culloden dead at Jamie’s feet. 😳
❤❤❤❤❤❤
How were they separated?

I'm a little bit confused and I don't remember his character for some reason who is he to Jamie

Hated when they killed him off.
Utter crap. Murray died at Culloden.
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy? An anachronism?! Or did Murtaugh travel to 1940s America?
