    This is SOOOOOOOO cute each and every time
    She's understandably afraid to be called insane or a witch yet again
    And Ian just ' I KNEW you were a fairy' ❤
    So wholesome ❤❤
    He trusts her and even is he suspects her of being magical he knows she's a good person ❤
    I also find it so refreshing that he practically just rolls with it ❤ this immense trust he has in her is heartwarming

      Except that both books and tv series drag out so long. The last book took seven years!! It can feel very frustrating at times.

    After Drums of Autumn, Gabaldon lost the plot. She said in an interview the last books are just a series of short stories cobbled together. My biggest disappointments are how Claire skipped explaining who she was to Jenny when Ian (Sr) was dying, William's character development ( YUK) and how Brianna and family can jump through time like it's getting in an elevator. Diana needs to conclude the series.

      Eh, maybe so. Tastes vary, I guess ... chacun á son goût.
      I have a preference for deeply researched, highly detailed works where the reader can be totally immersed in the setting. Some folks prefer more action, cut to the chase, don't bore me with details. Not my choice.
      I will say that some of my favorite authors (the late, great Caleb Carr comes to mind) are loved and dissed in equal measure for this reason. Some reviewers just do not care for his deeply researched and detailed works, and his literary style (which tends toward 19th century), while for me ... that's the whole point.

      Just because the series doesn’t please you, you want to insist that the author conclude the series? Millions of people disagree with you.

      You get out what you put in.
      If you want something that moves along from crisis to crisis, tv show is the thing.
      Gabaldon did a ton of research and spent years bringing each book to fruition. It seems bizarre to ignore the details of life in the 18th century and reduce a rich historical work to a simplistic adventure.

    • @assekarn
      @assekarn 4 месяца назад +1

      I worked in a bookshop for 3 years and read lots of books, and grew to find it is allowed to not like a book, let alone finish it. Hate to say it, but it is not a historical documentary. If she'd done her research, the constant rainy season should be in the Scottish bits of the story. Claire would have left voluntarily any man to get back to a time in which umbrellas were already invented. I personally do not miss the Scottish weather, 20 years is enough. Enjoying Sandals and non-waterproof footwear again.
