    Another great video AAR!
    BTW, at 42:16 Soviet player should have shot the AA trucks instead of the commander.
    If he destroys those trucks, German player has no one to contest the objective and Soviet wins if he is contesting at start of that turn, else wins next turn with short range shots on German commander as he moves to contest objective.

    Great Video. But where were you hiding this 2nd Panzer IV HQ Tank? ;-) If I did not miss something, you should get two for 180 Points. Greetings, Robert from Germany

    Hi guys, just thought I would mention. If you view your channel home page, it says "this channel doesn't have any content" and a blank page. You may need to feature video in some way.

    Question about terrain. Is the 2 inch rule only being used because of the hedges. Im not sure but i don't think wheatfields by themselves are tall terrain

    • @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall
      @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Carlos, In this battle we treated the hedges as tall terrain, the fields in and of themselves were low terrain and can be shot over normally. Thanks for watching!

      All Miniatures Great and Small also how long do your games normally last.

    • @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall

      usually a game takes 2-3 hours, filming a battle report does add some overall time.

    Great batrep. Thanks for posting. I think the Russian commander needed to support the attack on the German right flank. He might have saved the Su-122s from running. The Russians right flank should have hidden behind the wood by the road rather than duel with the Panthers. The T-34s should have gone left (from the Russian perspective) around that little wood and then the Panthers could not have provided supporting fire. And lastly the T-34s and the Su-122s should have attacked the PzIVs simultaneously rather than in two waves. And the Russian needed to roll better. ;-) Of course it is easy to say all this with hindsight.

    Did you guys get any new models for the mid war armies?

      I'm not sure if I have any new models, I did pick up more Lees and Stuarts in order to run Armor Heavy lists. Jake has a Mid War Tiger on the table

      All Miniatures Great and Small he shouldn't feel bad. The buddy I play most often wins by a single turn after I can't manage to roll a 3+ for the life of me

  • @johnsiringo4032
    @johnsiringo4032 2 года назад +1

    I have a rules question since you guys got me started in Flames of War and I follow you with great enthusiasm, why when tanks are bailed out and being assaulted by infantry is there no extra role of the dice to determine if the crew that is now exposed has been killed? I have seen many crews mowed down (in movies) when not inside the protection of their tanks armor, to me it would be much easier to kill a tanks crew than the tank!
    It also bothers me that you spend so much care painting your models and time with scenery and then bounce dice off everything on the table and end up with cocked dice and have to reroll often with a different result can you not just roll them in a box? Love your work- Thank You!

    • @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall
      @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall  2 года назад

      Hi John and thanks for the comments! I've always considered "Bailed out" to be a more generic term. Maybe the crew is cowering in the bottom of the tank? Maybe they are stunned? Not necessarily running from the tank. I think adding an extra roll for exposed crew would just slow the game down personally. Regarding dice rolls you are right. And some of us are better then others at rolling dice in a specific location (*Cough* Mark *Cough*) I've tried Dice trays but I find panning over to a tray away from the action for every roll is a little to distracting for me.

      @@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Thank you for taking the time to respond . Just proves there is always more than just way one to interpret rules that are not specifically written. I just like the chance to eliminate the crew and capture the tank after the battle as a trophy! Lol I see your point about dice rolls but still do not like damage to paint and figures!!

    • @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall

      @@johnsiringo4032 Charge them when they are bailed out to capture them :-) You can't do anything with them but bragging rights are still fun

    Was the Soviet list built out of Armies of Late War as well?

    • @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall
      @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall  6 лет назад +1

      I think Sean's list was from Red Bear, I don't think the Armies of late War offers a Heavy Assault gun battalion option.

    • @CRAIGCHRIST83
      @CRAIGCHRIST83 6 лет назад

      Yeah, you're right... the Soviet's can only take assault guns as support in AoLW.

      Sometime around 1100 a group of Norman freebooters settled in this region of Poland after plundering the local villages and driving out the native Slavs. They've been there ever since creating this small piece of Normandy in Poland.

    It was nice to see Russians in a battle report but, dude you should have parked your cat killers and just blew the Germans off the table. Enjoyable video👍🏼p.s. the Russian dice from Battle front suck they never work for the one rolling them. I got so pissed I threw mine across the room and bought a generic set of red dice which seen to be roller friendly.

    • @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall
      @AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall  6 лет назад +1

      It's tough, in Free For All you can't hang back unless you 1. Assume your opponent will just throw themselves into your guns or 2. neither play advanced and it's a draw.Even a long distance shoot out against Germans is often times a losing proposition since the Germans will get the first shot most of the time, and, assuming concealed, be hitting Soviets on 5+ while the Soviets are looking for 6+ (which translates into exactly half as many hits). Cat Killer rule (Though Sean didn't have any tanks with this rule) helps but still an uphill battle.

    I have my own rules. I make no pretext that they are historical. I'm really interested in writing my own history. However, in my watching various RUclips table top game (WWII) that tanks seem to be able to fire on targets that are track to track and hit the vehicle on the side opposite of the tank firing. In addition, tanks seem to get within inches of each other. There is more that I could write. For instance, was it really possible that a Sherman would be able to penetrate a Tiger II unless it was firing into the rear of the Tiger? I'll stick to my home made rules which are FREE!
