In this video I changed out the dim/original headlights with aftermarket LED headlights. I had to rewire the Humvee headlights and custom fit the headlight buckets due to the heat sync on the back of the LED replacement headlight.
Now my Humvee has custom LED headlights.. Bright Humvee lights!

And again a great movie. With the rust behind the headlights, these are things that are very helpful. I myself will not block any LED. I try to keep the Humvee as original as possible. But these banks are still on it ... that looks so cool :-)

Drill a weep hole in the bottom of the headlight housings where water pools, then sand, clean, and spray with a zinc rich primer and paint your desired color. This should make them last at least your lifetime. Your buddy with the aircraft hobby probably has some interesting self etching primers. Those would give the same effect.

Thanks for the HMMWV videos. One question--where EXACTLY on the HMMWV do you splice into for the halo? Is it near the turn signals, the headlight switch in the cab, or somewhere else? Thanks again.
Jonathan Gilbart You can either run them off a switch or splice into the turn signal wires. The halos hardly take any power to run and wouldn’t harm anything if you spliced them in with a waterproof connector.
Those weather head connector use special crimpers
Why don’t you get yourself a work table? They’re available everywhere. Cheap folding ones at Home Depot so you move it around anywhere you need it instead of bending on your knee on the ground 😏
What brand are these lights? I think these would look nice on my 1078.
brvfd822 I’m not sure the brand, I just got them off eBay. I see a lot of Jeep guys using them. Just look up 7” Jeep LED lights on eBay.
I know there are LEDs meant for HMMWV, gotta find that NSN tho, lol

Buddy...why couldn't you just go to Erik's Military Surplus and get the packard connectors for NATO standard vehicles?
What you are doing is unnecessary work as there a lot more LED headlight units that perfectly fit to the original buckets.
