I would have used bendwood wheel covers with mirrored car wrap all alround for an even better effect. Electric turbofans should have also been an interesting alternative to power the whole thing autentically.

Just want to say, 0:39 seconds in when he jumps out it tilts a bit as if it was floating which just looked really damn cool to me. Ya, it’s just the suspension reacting to all that extra body work and weight and the balance being weird, but it reacted in the perfect way!

This thing needs a skirt and conversion into a hovercraft.
Just what I was thinking - use bigger gas turbines, air take off bleed to fill the skirts and directional control on the turbines to provide steering.

Awesome build guys! I've been a metal worker my whole life, and I must say your curved panels turned out so nicely. It's probably a bit heavy, but certainly sturdy. With a tig welder and semi-soft aluminium sheet, the metalwork would be almost two thirds lighter, and easier to form. The speeder should be on display for sure.
I kept thinking: "Why am I watching Colin Furze drive something that's clearly supposed to be jet powered, and he's only using an electric mo.... Oh. There it is."
Just drops off his kid casually with a land speeder...

As long as he's got his safety tie, everything will turn out ok. The only time I know he actually injured himself was when he made the belt of knives, and I think it was only a minor cut on his arm

Yeah, the dimensions don't look quite right when he sits in the seat. The vehicle may be to the correct scale from the toy, but I don't think the toy is quite correct. Luke Skywalker looked much more comfortable in his landspeeder.

it needs angled mirrors around the bottom to reflect the surface it is riding on.this will conceal the wheels and make it appear to be hovering.thats how they did it in the movie

Put a big blower under the hood for lift, and add a skirt to make it hover!!!
Skirt made of transparent plastic, or maybe something reflective to get the same effect as the mirrors.

The original had a 4 speed 750cc Reliant Bond Bug in it, the whole thing was basically built round a Del boy van which shared same engine and chassis as the Bond Bug.

Next stop: getting this thing certified for use on a public road
Sadly theres a lot of rules for getting a vehicle on the public road. It's achievable mind, but there'll be a fair few modifications required to get it through the MOT, and then there's tax and insurance to deal with.
Allow a few months for the physical modifications, and likely 2-3 years to get the paperwork sorted.
