Was looking for a new flashlight and I'm glad I saw your channel. I'm fairly new to blacklights and bought a Rayovac 9 led flashlight. What I'm looking for is something to charge glow in the dark powder. I haven't seen any of you other videos but I'm going to check them out. I'm looking for suggestions on uv light bulbs for my desk lamp. Thanks for a great video! 🙂
KC369 definitely can’t go wrong with the Convoy or uvbeast mini.
As for uv bulbs, check out my uv bulb video. The only good 365nm UV bulb I’ve seen yet is the sunlite. It’s not super bright looking like the 390-400nm bulbs but that’s because there is hardly any visible light.
You definitely want 365nm for charging glow powder. Hope that helps!

I want to see the radiant energy and visual density of each of these three products. And I want to know your personal opinion about the best of them. And comparing them with Convoy S2 + Nichia uv. I got the convoy S2+ in 365nm with a filter. That thing is great. Everything that reacts to UV light does react. I can even see where the cables are in the wall. Because it is a bit darker there. In the cellar I found a bit of glow in the dark paint. You can only find it with UV light. Normal light is not strong enough to recharge it.
Convoy makes great products, my S2+ is still going strong!
I would use this for charging up the glow for my ice fishing lures. Do you know if it will stand up to cold temperatures such as 32 degrees and lower. (Basically freezing temperatures and lower. Even in the negatives)
Unfortunately, I’m not too sure about that. It’s probably best to reach out to customer service first.
Would be interesting to compare this to the "Convoy S2 Grey 7135*5 365nm" that comes with 5W LG emitter bead and build in filter. Both looks useful.

How does it compare with the Convoy S2 (non-plus) UV flashlight that is also sold for roughly the same price and uses an LG LED?
Unfortunately I don’t have the regular S2 to compare. Although I can tell you that most of the well known high powered black lights use Nichia LEDs.

However, they didn't give a definitive answer, just a preference.
I have also found on other pages that the Nichia is 3W and the LG is 4W but it's been said that the LG gives off more visible light. I've yet to find out whether the actual UV the LG emits is more than what the Nitchia does.

I used my s2+ UV365um for resin cure, and never ON for more than 2 minutes. Yet it died (dimmed to
First try changing to a new battery. If that doesn’t work then you got a dud. If it’s the Nichia LED it should last longer than that.

The gray Convoy S2 is 50% more power than the black model (6W vs. 4W). The Convoy C8 is also 6W but more of a thrower and holds 2 batteries rather than 1. Use w/ caution of course. Great channel. Thanks!

in the black version there is Nichia LED with 750mA current, gray has 1750mA with noname LED (not specified) as for 22.11.2022
Gray one is probably just as good, can’t go wrong with Convoy.
Is there big difference in lumen output tough?
I’m not sure as I don’t have that one. It’s going to be stronger for sure.

@marcin B Hello. If Amber fluoresces under a UV flashlight then yes. It will be visible from a few meters no problem.

how it in comparison with convoy s12 UV flashlight?
Unfortunately I’ve never tried the S12. If you want more power go with the S12, as it has 3 LEDs. Not sure on the output of those though.

My diode died after few weeks of really barely usage. Might be it is my unlucky sample, but I will not go with it again. Body and overall flashlight build is very good and solid, not like some other cheap aluminum.
Must’ve been a defective. I still have mine and it’s still running like new and I’ve had it for years. Can you return it?
Great video. If you had to pick ONE UV flashlight to use for everything, would it be this one?
For compact use, yes! But if your doing outdoor things such as mineral hunting, I would go with something larger that can run more output and wider beam angle, like the UV Beast 365nm.

@@hdlimited10 I would check out the UV Beast V3 365nm video for mineral hunting. If you want something small then Convoy or Beast mini. Although I heard good things with the Alonefire and Jaxman.

Since you invited people to suggest you a product to review, I'd like to ask if you know anything about the "AloneFire SV004" flashlight. They claim it comes with an LG 10W High Power 365nm UV LED and has a "black light" filter lens too, for a much lower price than the convoy. It looks OK "on paper" but no "decent" reviews can be found about it, other than the (generally very positive) opinions from the people who bought it...
This "Alonefire" brand makes a lot of different models, carrying different type/brand of LED, and buyer's reviews are usually very positive. Someone complains that some models tends to overheat after few minutes, like the SV003, which is about the same size as the Convoy, but in this one apparently the LED is not LG brand (it says "South Corea SVC").
So... I guess there's a lot to check out about this brand. ;)
Hello! Unfortunately, I don’t have that one but I’ve heard it has great output. Over heating sounds about right if in fact it has a 10w LED inside it. If it’s full power when it’s on and doesn’t regulate then yeah it’ll overheat.
My next Flashlight I was going to get was Alonefire or the Jaxman. I’ve been really busy as of late, so I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

As I said, the SV004 seems one of those models with the LG UV365 LED which, in terms of quality, "would seem" to be good enough to compare a bit with the Nichia. Some other "Alonefire" have an LED different from LG and people say they get hot as hell.
It'd be nice to see a direct comparison between the SV004 LG360nm and the Convoy Nichia. I look forward for YOU to make it, some day. I know for sure I'm not the only one asking the question "which one is better" or "is twice as much the price worth to be paid for the Convoy".
The SV004 model offers the 395/365nm option to choose. The 395 version has a clear glass, the 365, instead, has the black light filter. Now, my doubt is the following: does the 365nm model ACTUALLY carry an LG 365nm LED (as they claim) or is it an LG 395nm with the "visible light killing filter" at the tip? who knows...
As I said... its gonna be a leap of faith ;)

If you’re using it for a long time then you should. Otherwise If you’re just spot checking hotel rooms you should be fine, just don’t stare into it.
